Matthew 8 | Matthew 10

9:1

Καὶ ἐμβὰς εἰς πλοῖον διεπέρασεν καὶ ἦλθεν τὴν ἰδίαν πόλιν

kai embas eis ploion dieperasen kai ēlthen tēn idian polin

And having entered for a boat He passed over And [that] came the private city

9:2

Καὶ ἰδοὺ προσέφερον αὐτῷ παραλυτικὸν ἐπὶ κλίνης βεβλημένον καὶ ἰδὼν ὁ Ἰησοῦς τὴν πίστιν αὐτῶν εἶπεν τῷ παραλυτικῷ Θάρσει τέκνον ἀφίενταί σου αἱ ἁμαρτίαι

kai idou prosepheron autō paralytikon epi klinēs beblēmenon kai idōn ho Iēsous tēn pistin autōn eipen tō paralytikō Tharsei teknon aphientai sou hai hamartiai

And Behold they were bringing to Him a paralytic at a bed lying And having seen - Jesus the faith of them said - paralytic Take courage children are forgiven of You the sins

9:3

Καὶ ἰδού τινες τῶν γραμματέων εἶπαν ἐν ἑαυτοῖς Οὗτος βλασφημεῖ

kai idou tines tōn grammateōn eipan en heautois Houtos blasphēmei

And behold some of the scribes they said in themselves This He blasphemes

9:4

Καὶ εἰδὼς ὁ Ἰησοῦς τὰς ἐνθυμήσεις αὐτῶν εἶπεν Ἵνα‿ τί ἐνθυμεῖσθε πονηρὰ ἐν ταῖς καρδίαις ὑμῶν;

kai eidōs ho Iēsous tas enthymēseis autōn eipen Hina ti enthymeisthe ponēra en tais kardiais hymōn

And knowing - Jesus the thoughts of them said So that Which think you evils in - hearts of you?

9:5

τί γάρ ἐστιν εὐκοπώτερον εἰπεῖν Ἀφίενταί σου αἱ ἁμαρτίαι ἢ Ἔγειρε καὶ περιπάτει;

ti gar estin eukopōteron eipein Aphientai sou hai hamartiai ē Egeire kai peripatei

Which for is easier: to say Are forgiven of You the sins or Arise And walk

9:6

ἵνα δὲ εἰδῆτε ὅτι ἐξουσίαν ἔχει ὁ Υἱὸς τοῦ ἀνθρώπου ἐπὶ τῆς γῆς ἀφιέναι ἁμαρτίας— τότε λέγει τῷ παραλυτικῷ Ἐγερθεὶς* ἆρόν σου τὴν κλίνην καὶ ὕπαγε εἰς τὸν οἶκόν

hina de eidēte hoti exousian echei ho Huios tou anthrōpou epi tēs gēs aphienai hamartias tote legei tō paralytikō Egertheis aron sou tēn klinēn kai hypage eis ton oikon

so that however you might know - authority has - Son of the of Man at - land to forgive sins then He says - paralytic Having arisen take up of You the bed And go for the home

9:7

καὶ ἐγερθεὶς ἀπῆλθεν εἰς τὸν οἶκον αὐτοῦ

kai egertheis apēlthen eis ton oikon autou

And having arisen departed for the house of Him’”

9:8

Ἰδόντες δὲ οἱ ὄχλοι ἐφοβήθησαν καὶ ἐδόξασαν τὸν Θεὸν δόντα ἐξουσίαν τοιαύτην τοῖς ἀνθρώποις

idontes de hoi ochloi ephobēthēsan kai edoxasan ton Theon donta exousian toiautēn tois anthrōpois

Having seen however - crowds they feared And glorified the God having given authority such on the men

9:9

Καὶ παράγων ὁ Ἰησοῦς ἐκεῖθεν εἶδεν ἄνθρωπον καθήμενον ἐπὶ τὸ τελώνιον Μαθθαῖον λεγόμενον καὶ λέγει αὐτῷ Ἀκολούθει μοι ἀναστὰς ἠκολούθησεν

kai paragōn ho Iēsous ekeithen eiden anthrōpon kathēmenon epi to telōnion Maththaion legomenon kai legei autō Akolouthei moi anastas ēkolouthēsen

And passing - Jesus from there he saw man sitting at the tax booth Matthew called And He says to Him Follow Me having risen up he followed

9:10

Καὶ ἐγένετο αὐτοῦ ἀνακειμένου ἐν τῇ οἰκίᾳ καὶ ἰδοὺ πολλοὶ τελῶναι ἁμαρτωλοὶ ἐλθόντες συνανέκειντο τῷ Ἰησοῦ τοῖς μαθηταῖς

kai egeneto autou anakeimenou en tē oikia kai idou polloi telōnai hamartōloi elthontes synanekeinto tō Iēsou tois mathētais

And it came to pass of Him’” reclining in the house And Behold many tax collectors sinners having come were reclining with - of Jesus on the disciples

9:11

καὶ ἰδόντες οἱ Φαρισαῖοι ἔλεγον τοῖς μαθηταῖς αὐτοῦ Διὰ τί μετὰ τῶν τελωνῶν ἁμαρτωλῶν ἐσθίει ὁ διδάσκαλος ὑμῶν;

kai idontes hoi Pharisaioi elegon tois mathētais autou Dia ti meta tōn telōnōn hamartōlōn esthiei ho didaskalos hymōn

And having seen - Pharisees were saying on the disciples of Him’” Because of Which with of the tax collectors sinners eating - Teacher of you?

9:12

Ὁ δὲ ἀκούσας εἶπεν Οὐ χρείαν ἔχουσιν οἱ ἰσχύοντες ἰατροῦ ἀλλ’ κακῶς ἔχοντες

ho de akousas eipen Ou chreian echousin hoi ischyontes iatrou all’ kakōs echontes

- however having heard said No need have - being strong of a physician but sick being

9:13

πορευθέντες δὲ μάθετε τί ἐστιν Ἔλεος θέλω καὶ οὐ θυσίαν γὰρ ἦλθον καλέσαι δικαίους ἀλλὰ ἁμαρτωλούς

poreuthentes de mathete ti estin Eleos thelō kai ou thysian gar ēlthon kalesai dikaious alla hamartōlous

Having gone however learn Which is Mercy will And not sacrifice’ for they came to call [the] righteous But sinners

9:14

Τότε προσέρχονται αὐτῷ οἱ μαθηταὶ Ἰωάννου λέγοντες Διὰ τί ἡμεῖς καὶ Φαρισαῖοι νηστεύομεν ‹πολλά› δὲ μαθηταί σου οὐ νηστεύουσιν;

Tote proserchontai autō hoi mathētai Iōannou legontes Dia ti hēmeis kai Pharisaioi nēsteuomen polla de mathētai sou ou nēsteuousin

Then come to Him - disciples John saying Because of Which we And Pharisees do fast many times however disciples of You not fast?

9:15

Καὶ εἶπεν αὐτοῖς ὁ Ἰησοῦς Μὴ δύνανται οἱ υἱοὶ τοῦ νυμφῶνος πενθεῖν ἐφ’ ὅσον μετ’ αὐτῶν ἐστιν νυμφίος; ἐλεύσονται δὲ ἡμέραι ὅταν ἀπαρθῇ ἀπ’ νυμφίος καὶ τότε νηστεύσουσιν

kai eipen autois ho Iēsous Mē dynantai hoi huioi tou nymphōnos penthein eph’ hoson met’ autōn estin nymphios eleusontai de hēmerai hotan aparthē ap’ nymphios kai tote nēsteusousin

And said to them - Jesus Not are able - sons of the bridechamber mourn against As long as with of them is bridegroom? Will come however [the] days when will have been taken away from bridegroom And then they will fast

9:16

Οὐδεὶς δὲ ἐπιβάλλει ἐπίβλημα ῥάκους ἀγνάφου ἐπὶ ἱματίῳ παλαιῷ αἴρει γὰρ τὸ πλήρωμα αὐτοῦ ἀπὸ τοῦ ἱματίου καὶ χεῖρον σχίσμα γίνεται

Oudeis de epiballei epiblēma rhakous agnaphou epi himatiō palaiō airei gar to plērōma autou apo tou himatiou kai cheiron schisma ginetai

No one however puts a patch of cloth unshrunk at clothing old tears away for the patch of Him’” from of the clothing And worse a tear it came to pass

9:17

Οὐδὲ βάλλουσιν οἶνον νέον εἰς ἀσκοὺς παλαιούς εἰ δὲ μή¦γε ῥήγνυνται οἱ ἀσκοί καὶ ὁ οἶνος ἐκχεῖται ἀσκοὶ ἀπόλλυνται ἀλλὰ καινούς ἀμφότεροι συντηροῦνται

Oude ballousin oinon neon eis askous palaious ei de mēge rhēgnyntai hoi askoi kai ho oinos ekcheitai askoi apollyntai alla kainous amphoteroi syntērountai

Neither pour they wine new for wineskins old if however otherwise are burst - wineskins And - wine is poured out wineskins are destroyed But new” both are preserved

9:18

Ταῦτα αὐτοῦ λαλοῦντος αὐτοῖς ἰδοὺ ἄρχων εἷς ἐλθὼν* προσεκύνει αὐτῷ λέγων ὅτι Ἡ θυγάτηρ μου ἄρτι ἐτελεύτησεν ἀλλὰ ἐλθὼν ἐπίθες τὴν χεῖρά σου ἐπ’ αὐτήν καὶ ζήσεται

tauta autou lalountos autois idou archōn heis elthōn prosekynei autō legōn hoti HĒ thygatēr mou arti eteleutēsen alla elthōn epithes tēn cheira sou ep’ autēn kai zēsetai

These things of Him’” is speaking to them Behold a ruler alone having come was worshipping to Him saying - The daughter of Me presently has died But having come lay the hand of You in her And shall live

9:19

Καὶ ἐγερθεὶς ὁ Ἰησοῦς ἠκολούθει αὐτῷ καὶ οἱ μαθηταὶ αὐτοῦ

kai egertheis ho Iēsous ēkolouthei autō kai hoi mathētai autou

And having arisen - Jesus was following to Him And - disciples of Him’”

9:20

Καὶ ἰδοὺ γυνὴ αἱμορροοῦσα δώδεκα ἔτη προσελθοῦσα ὄπισθεν ἥψατο τοῦ κρασπέδου ἱματίου αὐτοῦ

kai idou gynē haimorroousa dōdeka etē proselthousa opisthen hēpsato tou kraspedou himatiou autou

And Behold a woman having had a flux of blood twelve years having come up behind He touched him of the fringe clothing of Him’”

9:21

ἔλεγεν γὰρ ἐν ἑαυτῇ Ἐὰν μόνον ἅψωμαι τοῦ ἱματίου αὐτοῦ σωθήσομαι

elegen gar en heautē Ean monon hapsōmai tou himatiou autou sōthēsomai

He said for in herself If only I shall touch of the clothing of Him’” I will be healed

9:22

Ὁ δὲ Ἰησοῦς στραφεὶς καὶ ἰδὼν αὐτὴν εἶπεν Θάρσει θύγατερ ἡ πίστις σου σέσωκέν σε ἐσώθη γυνὴ ἀπὸ τῆς ὥρας ἐκείνης

ho de Iēsous strapheis kai idōn autēn eipen Tharsei thygater hē pistis sou sesōken se esōthē gynē apo tēs hōras ekeinēs

- however Jesus having turned And having seen her said Take courage daughter the faith of You has healed You there would have been saved a woman from - the hour that

9:23

Καὶ ἐλθὼν ὁ Ἰησοῦς εἰς τὴν οἰκίαν τοῦ ἄρχοντος καὶ ἰδὼν τοὺς αὐλητὰς τὸν ὄχλον θορυβούμενον

kai elthōn ho Iēsous eis tēn oikian tou archontos kai idōn tous aulētas ton ochlon thoryboumenon

And having come - Jesus for the house of the ruler And having seen the flute players the crowd making a commotion

9:24

ἔλεγεν Ἀναχωρεῖτε οὐ γὰρ ἀπέθανεν τὸ κοράσιον ἀλλὰ καθεύδει καὶ κατεγέλων αὐτοῦ

elegen Anachōreite ou gar apethanen to korasion alla katheudei kai kategelōn autou

He said Go away not for is dead the girl But sleeps And they were laughing at of Him’”

9:25

Ὅτε δὲ ἐξεβλήθη ὁ ὄχλος εἰσελθὼν ἐκράτησεν τῆς χειρὸς αὐτῆς καὶ ἠγέρθη τὸ κοράσιον

hote de exeblēthē ho ochlos eiselthōn ekratēsen tēs cheiros autēs kai ēgerthē to korasion

When however had been put outside - crowd having entered seized - hand her And he arose the girl

9:26

καὶ ἐξῆλθεν ἡ φήμη αὕτη εἰς ὅλην τὴν γῆν ἐκείνην

kai exēlthen hē phēmē hautē eis holēn tēn gēn ekeinēn

And it came forth the report this for all the soil that

9:27

Καὶ παράγοντι ἐκεῖθεν τῷ Ἰησοῦ ἠκολούθησαν ‹αὐτῷ› δύο τυφλοὶ κράζοντες καὶ λέγοντες Ἐλέησον ἡμᾶς υἱὸς Δαυίδ

kai paragonti ekeithen tō Iēsou ēkolouthēsan autō dyo typhloi krazontes kai legontes Eleēson hēmas huios Dauid

And passing on from there - of Jesus they followed they two blind [men] crying out And saying Have mercy on us? son of David

9:28

Ἐλθόντι δὲ εἰς τὴν οἰκίαν προσῆλθον αὐτῷ οἱ τυφλοί καὶ λέγει αὐτοῖς ὁ Ἰησοῦς Πιστεύετε ὅτι δύναμαι τοῦτο ποιῆσαι; Λέγουσιν Ναί Κύριε

elthonti de eis tēn oikian prosēlthon autō hoi typhloi kai legei autois ho Iēsous Pisteuete hoti dynamai touto poiēsai legousin Nai Kyrie

Having come however for the house came to Him - blind [men] And He says to them - Jesus Believe you - I am able this to do? They say Yes Lord

9:29

Τότε ἥψατο τῶν ὀφθαλμῶν αὐτῶν λέγων Κατὰ τὴν πίστιν ὑμῶν γενηθήτω ὑμῖν

Tote hēpsato tōn ophthalmōn autōn legōn Kata tēn pistin hymōn genēthētō hymin

Then He touched him of the eyes of them saying At the faith you be it to you

9:30

καὶ ἠνεῴχθησαν αὐτῶν οἱ ὀφθαλμοί ἐνεβριμήθη αὐτοῖς ὁ Ἰησοῦς λέγων Ὁρᾶτε μηδεὶς γινωσκέτω

kai ēneōchthēsan autōn hoi ophthalmoi enebrimēthē autois ho Iēsous legōn Horate mēdeis ginōsketō

And were opened of them - eyes strictly instructed to them - Jesus saying Watch out no one knows

9:31

οἱ δὲ ἐξελθόντες διεφήμισαν αὐτὸν ἐν ὅλῃ τῇ γῇ ἐκείνῃ

hoi de exelthontes diephēmisan auton en holē tē gē ekeinē

- however having gone forth they make known him in all the earth those

9:32

Αὐτῶν δὲ ἐξερχομένων ἰδοὺ προσήνεγκαν αὐτῷ ‹ἄνθρωπον› κωφὸν δαιμονιζόμενον

Autōn de exerchomenōn idou prosēnenkan autō anthrōpon kōphon daimonizomenon

[As] they however were going out Behold they offered to Him a man a deaf man possessed by demons

9:33

καὶ ἐκβληθέντος τοῦ δαιμονίου ἐλάλησεν ὁ κωφός ἐθαύμασαν οἱ ὄχλοι λέγοντες Οὐδέποτε ἐφάνη οὕτως ἐν τῷ Ἰσραήλ

kai ekblēthentos tou daimoniou elalēsen ho kōphos ethaumasan hoi ochloi legontes Oudepote ephanē houtōs en tō Israēl

And having been cast out of the demon He spoke - mute [man] marveled - crowds saying Never He appeared thus in - O Israel:

9:34

Οἱ δὲ Φαρισαῖοι ἔλεγον Ἐν τῷ ἄρχοντι τῶν δαιμονίων ἐκβάλλει τὰ δαιμόνια

hoi de Pharisaioi elegon en tō archonti tōn daimoniōn ekballei ta daimonia

- however Pharisees were saying By - prince of the demons drives out the demons

9:35

Καὶ περιῆγεν ὁ Ἰησοῦς τὰς πόλεις πάσας καὶ κώμας διδάσκων ἐν ταῖς συναγωγαῖς αὐτῶν κηρύσσων τὸ εὐαγγέλιον τῆς βασιλείας θεραπεύων πᾶσαν νόσον μαλακίαν

kai periēgen ho Iēsous tas poleis pasas kai kōmas didaskōn en tais synagōgais autōn kēryssōn to euangelion tēs basileias therapeuōn pasan noson malakian

And He was going - Jesus the cities all And villages teaching in - synagogues of them proclaiming the gospel - kingdom healing all disease sickness

9:36

Ἰδὼν δὲ τοὺς ὄχλους ἐσπλαγχνίσθη περὶ αὐτῶν ὅτι ἦσαν ἐσκυλμένοι καὶ ἐρριμμένοι ὡσεὶ πρόβατα μὴ ἔχοντα ποιμένα

idōn de tous ochlous esplanchnisthē peri autōn hoti ēsan eskylmenoi kai errimmenoi hōsei probata mē echonta poimena

Having seen however the crowds was moved with compassion around of them - they were wearied And cast away as if sheep not having a shepherd

9:37

Τότε λέγει τοῖς μαθηταῖς αὐτοῦ Ὁ μὲν θερισμὸς πολύς οἱ δὲ ἐργάται ὀλίγοι

Tote legei tois mathētais autou ho men therismos polys hoi de ergatai oligoi

Then He says on the disciples of Him’” - - harvest great - however workmen few

9:38

δεήθητε οὖν τοῦ Κυρίου θερισμοῦ ὅπως ἐκβάλῃ ἐργάτας εἰς τὸν θερισμὸν αὐτοῦ

deēthēte oun tou Kyriou therismou hopōs ekbalē ergatas eis ton therismon autou

Beseech therefore of the of [the] Lord harvest how He should cast forth workmen for the harvest of Him’”
