Matthew 9 | Matthew 11

10:1

Καὶ προσκαλεσάμενος τοὺς δώδεκα μαθητὰς αὐτοῦ ἔδωκεν αὐτοῖς ἐξουσίαν πνευμάτων ἀκαθάρτων ὥστε ἐκβάλλειν αὐτὰ καὶ θεραπεύειν πᾶσαν νόσον μαλακίαν

kai proskalesamenos tous dōdeka mathētas autou edōken autois exousian pneumatōn akathartōn hōste ekballein auta kai therapeuein pasan noson malakian

And having called to [Him] the twelve disciples of Him’” he gave to them authority spirits unclean so as to cast out them And to heal all disease sickness

10:2

Τῶν δὲ δώδεκα ἀποστόλων τὰ ὀνόματά ἐστιν ταῦτα πρῶτος Σίμων ὁ λεγόμενος Πέτρος καὶ Ἀνδρέας ἀδελφὸς αὐτοῦ Ἰάκωβος τοῦ Ζεβεδαίου Ἰωάννης

Tōn de dōdeka apostolōn ta onomata estin tauta prōtos Simōn ho legomenos Petros kai Andreas adelphos autou Iakōbos tou Zebedaiou Iōannēs

- however twelve apostles the names is these things first Simon - called Peter And Andrew brother of Him’” James of the of Zebedee John

10:3

Φίλιππος καὶ Βαρθολομαῖος Θωμᾶς Μαθθαῖος ὁ τελώνης Ἰάκωβος τοῦ Ἁλφαίου Θαδδαῖος

Philippos kai Bartholomaios Thōmas Maththaios ho telōnēs Iakōbos tou Halphaiou Thaddaios

Philip And Bartholomew Thomas Matthew - tax collector James of the of Alphaeus Thaddaeus

10:4

Σίμων ὁ Καναναῖος καὶ Ἰούδας Ἰσκαριώτης παραδοὺς αὐτόν

Simōn ho Kananaios kai Ioudas Iskariōtēs paradous auton

Simon - Zealot And Judas Iscariot having betrayed Him

10:5

Τούτους τοὺς δώδεκα ἀπέστειλεν ὁ Ἰησοῦς παραγγείλας αὐτοῖς λέγων Εἰς ὁδὸν ἐθνῶν μὴ ἀπέλθητε καὶ εἰς πόλιν Σαμαριτῶν εἰσέλθητε

Toutous tous dōdeka apesteilen ho Iēsous parangeilas autois legōn Eis hodon ethnōn mē apelthēte kai eis polin Samaritōn eiselthēte

These the twelve He sent - Jesus having instructed to them saying To way Gentiles not go off And for city of [the] Samaritans you enter

10:6

πορεύεσθε δὲ μᾶλλον πρὸς τὰ πρόβατα ἀπολωλότα οἴκου Ἰσραήλ

poreuesthe de mallon pros ta probata apolōlota oikou Israēl

go however rather to the sheep being lost of [the] house O Israel:

10:7

πορευόμενοι δὲ κηρύσσετε λέγοντες ὅτι Ἤγγικεν ἡ βασιλεία τῶν οὐρανῶν

poreuomenoi de kēryssete legontes hoti Ēngiken hē basileia tōn ouranōn

Going on however proclaim saying - Has drawn near the kingdom of the heavens:

10:8

ἀσθενοῦντας θεραπεύετε νεκροὺς ἐγείρετε λεπροὺς καθαρίζετε δαιμόνια ἐκβάλλετε δωρεὰν ἐλάβετε δότε

asthenountas therapeuete nekrous egeirete leprous katharizete daimonia ekballete dōrean elabete dote

ailing heal dead raise lepers cleanse demons cast out freely you receive give

10:9

Μὴ κτήσησθε χρυσὸν μηδὲ ἄργυρον χαλκὸν εἰς τὰς ζώνας ὑμῶν

Mē ktēsēsthe chryson mēde argyron chalkon eis tas zōnas hymōn

Not take along gold not even silver money for the belts you

10:10

μὴ πήραν εἰς ὁδὸν μηδὲ δύο χιτῶνας ὑποδήματα ῥάβδον ἄξιος γὰρ ὁ ἐργάτης τῆς τροφῆς αὐτοῦ

mē pēran eis hodon mēde dyo chitōnas hypodēmata rhabdon axios gar ho ergatēs tēs trophēs autou

not bag for way not even two tunics sandals a staff worthy [is] for - workman - food of Him’”

10:11

Εἰς ἣν δ’ ἂν πόλιν ἢ κώμην εἰσέλθητε ἐξετάσατε τίς ἐν αὐτῇ ἄξιός ἐστιν κἀκεῖ μείνατε ἕως ἐξέλθητε

Eis hēn d’ an polin ē kōmēn eiselthēte exetasate tis en autē axios estin kakei meinate heōs exelthēte

To that however - city or village you enter search who in on her worthy is and there remain until you go out

10:12

εἰσερχόμενοι δὲ εἰς τὴν οἰκίαν ἀσπάσασθε αὐτήν

eiserchomenoi de eis tēn oikian aspasasthe autēn

entering however for the house greet her

10:13

καὶ ἐὰν μὲν ᾖ ἡ οἰκία ἀξία ἐλθάτω εἰρήνη ὑμῶν ἐπ’ αὐτήν δὲ μὴ πρὸς ὑμᾶς ἐπιστραφήτω

kai ean men ē hē oikia axia elthatō eirēnē hymōn ep’ autēn de mē pros hymas epistraphētō

And if - he might be the a house worthy let come peace you in her however not to you let return

10:14

καὶ ὃς ἂν μὴ δέξηται ὑμᾶς μηδὲ ἀκούσῃ τοὺς λόγους ὑμῶν ἐξερχόμενοι ἔξω τῆς οἰκίας ἢ πόλεως ἐκείνης ἐκτινάξατε τὸν κονιορτὸν τῶν ποδῶν

kai hos an mē dexētai hymas mēde akousē tous logous hymōn exerchomenoi exō tēs oikias ē poleōs ekeinēs ektinaxate ton koniorton tōn podōn

And who - not will receive you not even will hear the words you coming forth out - houses or city that shake off the dust of the feet

10:15

ἀμὴν λέγω ὑμῖν ἀνεκτότερον ἔσται γῇ Σοδόμων καὶ Γομόρρων ἐν ἡμέρᾳ κρίσεως ἢ τῇ πόλει ἐκείνῃ

amēn legō hymin anektoteron estai gē Sodomōn kai Gomorrōn en hēmera kriseōs ē tē polei ekeinē

Truly I say to you more tolerable it will be earth of Sodom And of Gomorrah in days of judgment or the town those

10:16

Ἰδοὺ ἐγὼ ἀποστέλλω ὑμᾶς ὡς πρόβατα ἐν μέσῳ λύκων γίνεσθε οὖν φρόνιμοι οἱ ὄφεις καὶ ἀκέραιοι αἱ περιστεραί

Idou egō apostellō hymas hōs probata en mesō lykōn ginesthe oun phronimoi hoi opheis kai akeraioi hai peristerai

Behold I I send you as sheep in the midst of wolves be therefore shrewd - serpents And innocent the doves

10:17

Προσέχετε δὲ ἀπὸ τῶν ἀνθρώπων παραδώσουσιν γὰρ ὑμᾶς εἰς συνέδρια καὶ ἐν ταῖς συναγωγαῖς αὐτῶν μαστιγώσουσιν

Prosechete de apo tōn anthrōpōn paradōsousin gar hymas eis synedria kai en tais synagōgais autōn mastigōsousin

Beware however from of the of men will betray for you for courts And in - synagogues of them will flog

10:18

καὶ ἐπὶ ἡγεμόνας δὲ βασιλεῖς ἀχθήσεσθε ἕνεκεν ἐμοῦ εἰς μαρτύριον αὐτοῖς τοῖς ἔθνεσιν

kai epi hēgemonas de basileis achthēsesthe heneken emou eis martyrion autois tois ethnesin

And at governors however kings you will be brought on account of Me for a testimony to them on the Gentiles

10:19

ὅταν δὲ παραδῶσιν ὑμᾶς μὴ μεριμνήσητε πῶς ἢ τί λαλήσητε δοθήσεται γὰρ ὑμῖν ἐν ἐκείνῃ τῇ ὥρᾳ

hotan de paradōsin hymas mē merimnēsēte pōs ē ti lalēsēte dothēsetai gar hymin en ekeinē tē hōra

when however they deliver up you not be anxious How or Which you should say it will be given for to you in those the hour

10:20

οὐ γὰρ ὑμεῖς ἐστε οἱ λαλοῦντες ἀλλὰ τὸ Πνεῦμα τοῦ Πατρὸς ὑμῶν λαλοῦν ἐν ὑμῖν

ou gar hymeis este hoi lalountes alla to Pneuma tou Patros hymōn laloun en hymin

not for you are you? - speaking But the Spirit of the Father you speaking in to you

10:21

Παραδώσει δὲ ἀδελφὸς ἀδελφὸν εἰς θάνατον καὶ πατὴρ τέκνον ἐπαναστήσονται τέκνα ἐπὶ γονεῖς θανατώσουσιν αὐτούς

paradōsei de adelphos adelphon eis thanaton kai patēr teknon epanastēsontai tekna epi goneis thanatōsousin autous

Will deliver up however brother brother for death And father children will rise up children at parents will put to death them

10:22

καὶ ἔσεσθε μισούμενοι ὑπὸ πάντων διὰ τὸ ὄνομά μου ὁ δὲ ὑπομείνας εἰς τέλος οὗτος σωθήσεται

kai esesthe misoumenoi hypo pantōn dia to onoma mou ho de hypomeinas eis telos houtos sōthēsetai

And you will be hated by all on account of the [the] name of Me - however having endured for an end this [man] will be saved

10:23

Ὅταν δὲ διώκωσιν ὑμᾶς ἐν τῇ πόλει ταύτῃ φεύγετε εἰς τὴν ἑτέραν ἀμὴν γὰρ λέγω ὑμῖν οὐ μὴ τελέσητε τὰς πόλεις τοῦ Ἰσραὴλ ἕως ‹ἂν› ἔλθῃ ὁ Υἱὸς ἀνθρώπου

Hotan de diōkōsin hymas en tē polei tautē pheugete eis tēn heteran amēn gar legō hymin ou mē telesēte tas poleis tou Israēl heōs an elthē ho Huios anthrōpou

When however they persecute you in the town this flee for the next Truly for I say to you not not shall you have completed the cities of the of Israel until - it should come - Son of Man

10:24

Οὐκ ἔστιν μαθητὴς ὑπὲρ τὸν διδάσκαλον οὐδὲ δοῦλος κύριον αὐτοῦ

Ouk estin mathētēs hyper ton didaskalon oude doulos kyrion autou

Not is a disciple for the teacher nor slave master of Him’”

10:25

ἀρκετὸν τῷ μαθητῇ ἵνα γένηται ὡς ὁ διδάσκαλος αὐτοῦ καὶ δοῦλος κύριος εἰ τὸν οἰκοδεσπότην Βεελζεβοὺλ ἐπεκάλεσαν πόσῳ μᾶλλον τοὺς οἰκιακοὺς

arketon tō mathētē hina genētai hōs ho didaskalos autou kai doulos kyrios ei ton oikodespotēn Beelzeboul epekalesan posō mallon tous oikiakous

Sufficient - disciple so that becomes as - Teacher of Him’” And slave master if the master of the house Beelzebul they called how much rather the house members

10:26

Μὴ οὖν φοβηθῆτε αὐτούς οὐδὲν γάρ ἐστιν κεκαλυμμένον ὃ οὐκ ἀποκαλυφθήσεται καὶ κρυπτὸν οὐ γνωσθήσεται

Mē oun phobēthēte autous ouden gar estin kekalymmenon ho ouk apokalyphthēsetai kai krypton ou gnōsthēsetai

Not therefore you should fear them anything for is concealed that which not will be revealed And hidden not will be known

10:27

ὃ λέγω ὑμῖν ἐν τῇ σκοτίᾳ εἴπατε τῷ φωτί καὶ εἰς τὸ οὖς ἀκούετε κηρύξατε ἐπὶ τῶν δωμάτων

ho legō hymin en tē skotia eipate tō phōti kai eis to ous akouete kēryxate epi tōn dōmatōn

that which I say to you in the darkness say - light And for the ear you hear proclaim at of the housetops

10:28

Καὶ μὴ φοβεῖσθε ἀπὸ τῶν ἀποκτεννόντων τὸ σῶμα τὴν δὲ ψυχὴν δυναμένων ἀποκτεῖναι μᾶλλον τὸν δυνάμενον καὶ ἀπολέσαι ἐν γεέννῃ

kai mē phobeisthe apo tōn apoktennontōn to sōma tēn de psychēn dynamenōn apokteinai mallon ton dynamenon kai apolesai en geennē

And not fear from of the killing the body the however Life being able to kill rather the being able And to destroy in hell

10:29

Οὐχὶ δύο στρουθία ἀσσαρίου πωλεῖται; καὶ ἓν ἐξ αὐτῶν οὐ πεσεῖται ἐπὶ τὴν γῆν ἄνευ τοῦ Πατρὸς ὑμῶν

ouchi dyo strouthia assariou pōleitai kai hen ex autōn ou peseitai epi tēn gēn aneu tou Patros hymōn

Not two sparrows for an assarion are sold? And one out of of them not will fall at the soil apart from of the Father you

10:30

ὑμῶν δὲ καὶ αἱ τρίχες τῆς κεφαλῆς πᾶσαι ἠριθμημέναι εἰσίν

hymōn de kai hai triches tēs kephalēs pasai ērithmēmenai eisin

you however And the hairs - head all numbered there are

10:31

μὴ οὖν φοβεῖσθε πολλῶν στρουθίων διαφέρετε ὑμεῖς

mē oun phobeisthe pollōn strouthiōn diapherete hymeis

not therefore fear many sparrows are more valuable you

10:32

Πᾶς οὖν ὅστις ὁμολογήσει ἐν ἐμοὶ ἔμπροσθεν τῶν ἀνθρώπων ὁμολογήσω κἀγὼ αὐτῷ τοῦ Πατρός μου τοῖς οὐρανοῖς

Pas oun hostis homologēsei en emoi emprosthen tōn anthrōpōn homologēsō kagō autō tou Patros mou tois ouranois

Everyone therefore who will confess in to me before of the of men I will declare I also to Him of the Father of Me on the heavens

10:33

ὅστις δ’ ἂν ἀρνήσηταί με ἔμπροσθεν τῶν ἀνθρώπων ἀρνήσομαι κἀγὼ αὐτὸν τοῦ Πατρός μου ἐν τοῖς οὐρανοῖς

hostis d’ an arnēsētai me emprosthen tōn anthrōpōn arnēsomai kagō auton tou Patros mou en tois ouranois

who however - shall deny me before of the of men will deny I also him of the Father of Me in on the heavens

10:34

Μὴ νομίσητε ὅτι ἦλθον βαλεῖν εἰρήνην ἐπὶ τὴν γῆν οὐκ ἀλλὰ μάχαιραν

Mē nomisēte hoti ēlthon balein eirēnēn epi tēn gēn ouk alla machairan

Not think - they came to cast [it] peace at the soil not But sword

10:35

ἦλθον γὰρ διχάσαι Ἄνθρωπον κατὰ τοῦ πατρὸς αὐτοῦ Καὶ θυγατέρα τῆς μητρὸς αὐτῆς νύμφην πενθερᾶς

ēlthon gar dichasai anthrōpon kata tou patros autou kai thygatera tēs mētros autēs nymphēn pentheras

they came for to set at variance A man with of the father of Him’” And a daughter - mother her a daughter-in-law mother-in-law

10:36

Καὶ ἐχθροὶ τοῦ ἀνθρώπου οἱ οἰκιακοὶ αὐτοῦ

kai echthroi tou anthrōpou hoi oikiakoi autou

And enemies of the of Man - household of Him’”

10:37

Ὁ φιλῶν πατέρα ἢ μητέρα ὑπὲρ ἐμὲ οὐκ ἔστιν μου ἄξιος καὶ ὁ υἱὸν θυγατέρα

ho philōn patera ē mētera hyper eme ouk estin mou axios kai ho huion thygatera

- loving father or mother for Me not is of Me worthy [is] And - son a daughter

10:38

καὶ ὃς οὐ λαμβάνει τὸν σταυρὸν αὐτοῦ ἀκολουθεῖ ὀπίσω μου οὐκ ἔστιν ἄξιος

kai hos ou lambanei ton stauron autou akolouthei opisō mou ouk estin axios

And who not receives the cross of Him’” does follow after of Me not is worthy [is]

10:39

ὁ εὑρὼν τὴν ψυχὴν αὐτοῦ ἀπολέσει αὐτήν καὶ ἀπολέσας ἕνεκεν ἐμοῦ εὑρήσει

ho heurōn tēn psychēn autou apolesei autēn kai apolesas heneken emou heurēsei

- having found the Life of Him’” will lose her And having lost on account of Me He will find

10:40

Ὁ δεχόμενος ὑμᾶς ἐμὲ δέχεται καὶ ὁ τὸν ἀποστείλαντά με

ho dechomenos hymas eme dechetai kai ho ton aposteilanta me

- receiving you Me receives And - the having sent me

10:41

ὁ δεχόμενος προφήτην εἰς ὄνομα προφήτου μισθὸν λήμψεται καὶ δίκαιον δικαίου

ho dechomenos prophētēn eis onoma prophētou misthon lēmpsetai kai dikaion dikaiou

- receiving a prophet for [the] name prophet reward will receive And righteous of a righteous [man]

10:42

καὶ ὃς ἂν* ποτίσῃ ἕνα τῶν μικρῶν τούτων ποτήριον ψυχροῦ μόνον εἰς ὄνομα μαθητοῦ ἀμὴν λέγω ὑμῖν οὐ μὴ ἀπολέσῃ τὸν μισθὸν αὐτοῦ

kai hos an potisē hena tōn mikrōn toutōn potērion psychrou monon eis onoma mathētou amēn legō hymin ou mē apolesē ton misthon autou

And who - might give to drink one of the little ones these a cup of cold [water] only for [the] name of a disciple Truly I say to you not not it might destroy the reward of Him’”
