Matthew 10 | Matthew 12

11:1

Καὶ ἐγένετο ὅτε ἐτέλεσεν ὁ Ἰησοῦς διατάσσων τοῖς δώδεκα μαθηταῖς αὐτοῦ μετέβη ἐκεῖθεν τοῦ διδάσκειν καὶ κηρύσσειν ἐν ταῖς πόλεσιν αὐτῶν

kai egeneto hote etelesen ho Iēsous diatassōn tois dōdeka mathētais autou metebē ekeithen tou didaskein kai kēryssein en tais polesin autōn

And it came to pass when had finished - Jesus commanding on the twelve disciples of Him’” He departed from there of the to teach And to proclaim in - cities of them

11:2

Ὁ δὲ Ἰωάννης ἀκούσας ἐν τῷ δεσμωτηρίῳ τὰ ἔργα τοῦ Χριστοῦ πέμψας διὰ τῶν μαθητῶν αὐτοῦ

ho de Iōannēs akousas en tō desmōtēriō ta erga tou Christou pempsas dia tōn mathētōn autou

- however John having heard in - prison the works of the Christ having sent on account of of the disciples of Him’”

11:3

εἶπεν αὐτῷ Σὺ εἶ ὁ ἐρχόμενος ἢ ἕτερον προσδοκῶμεν;

eipen autō Sy ei ho erchomenos ē heteron prosdokōmen

said to Him You are - coming or other are we to look for?

11:4

Καὶ ἀποκριθεὶς ὁ Ἰησοῦς εἶπεν αὐτοῖς Πορευθέντες ἀπαγγείλατε Ἰωάννῃ ἃ ἀκούετε καὶ βλέπετε

kai apokritheis ho Iēsous eipen autois Poreuthentes apangeilate Iōannē ha akouete kai blepete

And He answering - Jesus said to them Having gone relate to John what you hear And take heed

11:5

τυφλοὶ ἀναβλέπουσιν καὶ χωλοὶ περιπατοῦσιν λεπροὶ καθαρίζονται κωφοὶ ἀκούουσιν νεκροὶ ἐγείρονται πτωχοὶ εὐαγγελίζονται

typhloi anablepousin kai chōloi peripatousin leproi katharizontai kōphoi akouousin nekroi egeirontai ptōchoi euangelizontai

blind [men] receive sight And lame walk lepers are cleansed deaf hear dead they rise poor are gospelized

11:6

καὶ μακάριός ἐστιν ὃς ἐὰν μὴ σκανδαλισθῇ ἐν ἐμοί

kai makarios estin hos ean mē skandalisthē en emoi

And blessed is who if not shall fall away in Me

11:7

Τούτων δὲ πορευομένων ἤρξατο ὁ Ἰησοῦς λέγειν τοῖς ὄχλοις περὶ Ἰωάννου Τί ἐξήλθατε εἰς τὴν ἔρημον θεάσασθαι; κάλαμον ὑπὸ ἀνέμου σαλευόμενον;

Toutōn de poreuomenōn ērxato ho Iēsous legein tois ochlois peri Iōannou Ti exēlthate eis tēn erēmon theasasthai kalamon hypo anemou saleuomenon

As these however were going away he began - Jesus to say on the crowds around John What are you come out for the wilderness to see? A reed by of wind shaken?

11:8

ἀλλὰ τί ἐξήλθατε ἰδεῖν; ἄνθρωπον ἐν μαλακοῖς ἠμφιεσμένον; ἰδοὺ οἱ τὰ μαλακὰ φοροῦντες τοῖς οἴκοις τῶν βασιλέων ‹εἰσίν›

alla ti exēlthate idein anthrōpon en malakois ēmphiesmenon idou hoi ta malaka phorountes tois oikois tōn basileōn eisin

But Which are you come out to see? man in delicate [clothing] having been dressed? Behold - the delicate [clothing] wearing on the houses of the kings are

11:9

ἀλλὰ τί ἐξήλθατε; προφήτην ⇔ ἰδεῖν; ναί λέγω ὑμῖν καὶ περισσότερον προφήτου

alla ti exēlthate prophētēn idein nai legō hymin kai perissoteron prophētou

But Which did you go out a prophet to see? ‘Yes I say to you And abundantly prophet

11:10

οὗτός ἐστιν περὶ οὗ γέγραπται Ἰδοὺ ἐγὼ ἀποστέλλω τὸν ἄγγελόν μου πρὸ προσώπου σου Ὃς κατασκευάσει τὴν ὁδόν ἔμπροσθέν

houtos estin peri hou gegraptai Idou egō apostellō ton angelon mou pro prosōpou sou Hos kataskeuasei tēn hodon emprosthen

this is around of whom it has been written Behold I I send the messenger of Me before face of You He who will prepare the way before

11:11

Ἀμὴν λέγω ὑμῖν οὐκ ἐγήγερται ἐν γεννητοῖς γυναικῶν μείζων Ἰωάννου τοῦ Βαπτιστοῦ ὁ δὲ μικρότερος τῇ βασιλείᾳ τῶν οὐρανῶν αὐτοῦ ἐστιν

Amēn legō hymin ouk egēgertai en gennētois gynaikōn meizōn Iōannou tou Baptistou ho de mikroteros tē basileia tōn ouranōn autou estin

Truly I say to you not is risen in born of women greatest John of the Baptist - however the least the kingdom of the heavens: of Him’” is

11:12

ἀπὸ δὲ τῶν ἡμερῶν Ἰωάννου τοῦ Βαπτιστοῦ ἕως ἄρτι ἡ βασιλεία οὐρανῶν βιάζεται καὶ βιασταὶ ἁρπάζουσιν αὐτήν

apo de tōn hēmerōn Iōannou tou Baptistou heōs arti hē basileia ouranōn biazetai kai biastai harpazousin autēn

from however of the days John of the Baptist until presently the kingdom heavens: is taken by violence And violent claim her

11:13

πάντες γὰρ οἱ προφῆται καὶ ὁ νόμος ἕως Ἰωάννου ἐπροφήτευσαν

pantes gar hoi prophētai kai ho nomos heōs Iōannou eprophēteusan

all for - prophets And - law until John prophesied

11:14

καὶ εἰ θέλετε δέξασθαι αὐτός ἐστιν Ἠλίας ὁ μέλλων ἔρχεσθαι

kai ei thelete dexasthai autos estin Ēlias ho mellōn erchesthai

And if do you desire to receive [it] Himself is Elijah - being about to come

11:15

Ὁ ἔχων ὦτα ἀκουέτω

ho echōn ōta akouetō

- having ears let him hear

11:16

Τίνι δὲ ὁμοιώσω τὴν γενεὰν ταύτην; ὁμοία ἐστὶν παιδίοις καθημένοις ἐν ταῖς ἀγοραῖς ἃ προσφωνοῦντα τοῖς ἑτέροις

Tini de homoiōsō tēn genean tautēn homoia estin paidiois kathēmenois en tais agorais ha prosphōnounta tois heterois

To what however will I compare the generation this? Like is little children sitting in - marketplaces what calling out on the to others

11:17

λέγουσιν Ηὐλήσαμεν ὑμῖν Καὶ οὐκ ὠρχήσασθε Ἐθρηνήσαμεν ἐκόψασθε

legousin Ēulēsamen hymin kai ouk ōrchēsasthe ethrēnēsamen ekopsasthe

they speak We piped to you And not you did dance we sang a dirge you did wail

11:18

Ἦλθεν γὰρ Ἰωάννης μήτε ἐσθίων πίνων καὶ λέγουσιν Δαιμόνιον ἔχει

ēlthen gar Iōannēs mēte esthiōn pinōn kai legousin Daimonion echei

Came for John neither is eating drinking And they speak A demon has

11:19

ἦλθεν ὁ Υἱὸς τοῦ ἀνθρώπου ἐσθίων καὶ πίνων λέγουσιν Ἰδοὺ ἄνθρωπος φάγος οἰνοπότης τελωνῶν φίλος ἁμαρτωλῶν ἐδικαιώθη ἡ σοφία ἀπὸ τῶν ἔργων αὐτῆς

ēlthen ho Huios tou anthrōpou esthiōn kai pinōn legousin Idou anthrōpos phagos oinopotēs telōnōn philos hamartōlōn edikaiōthē hē sophia apo tōn ergōn autēs

[that] came - Son of the of Man is eating And drinking they speak Behold a man a glutton a drunkard tax collectors a friend sinners is justified the wisdom from of the deeds her

11:20

Τότε ἤρξατο ὀνειδίζειν τὰς πόλεις ἐν αἷς ἐγένοντο αἱ πλεῖσται δυνάμεις αὐτοῦ ὅτι οὐ μετενόησαν

Tote ērxato oneidizein tas poleis en hais egenonto hai pleistai dynameis autou hoti ou metenoēsan

Then he began to denounce the cities in whom they were the most miracles of Him’” - not they repented

11:21

Οὐαί σοι Χοραζίν οὐαί Βηθσαϊδά ὅτι εἰ ἐν Τύρῳ καὶ Σιδῶνι ἐγένοντο αἱ δυνάμεις γενόμεναι ὑμῖν πάλαι ἂν σάκκῳ σποδῷ μετενόησαν

Ouai soi Chorazin ouai Bēthsaida hoti ei en Tyrō kai Sidōni egenonto hai dynameis genomenai hymin palai an sakkō spodō metenoēsan

Woe to You Chorazin Woe Bethsaida - if in Tyre And Sidon they were the miracles having come to pass to you already - sackcloth ashes they repented

11:22

πλὴν λέγω ὑμῖν Τύρῳ καὶ Σιδῶνι ἀνεκτότερον ἔσται ἐν ἡμέρᾳ κρίσεως ἢ

plēn legō hymin Tyrō kai Sidōni anektoteron estai en hēmera kriseōs ē

besides I say to you Tyre And Sidon more tolerable it will be in days of judgment or

11:23

Καὶ σύ Καφαρναούμ μὴ ἕως οὐρανοῦ ὑψωθήσῃ; ᾅδου καταβήσῃ ὅτι εἰ ἐν Σοδόμοις ἐγενήθησαν αἱ δυνάμεις γενόμεναι σοί ἔμεινεν ἂν μέχρι τῆς σήμερον

kai sy Kapharnaoum mē heōs ouranou hypsōthēsē hadou katabēsē hoti ei en Sodomois egenēthēsan hai dynameis genomenai soi emeinen an mechri tēs sēmeron

And You Capernaum not until air will be exalted Hades will be brought down - if in for Sodom had taken place the miracles having come to pass to You it would have remained - until - now

11:24

πλὴν λέγω ὑμῖν ὅτι γῇ Σοδόμων ἀνεκτότερον ἔσται ἐν ἡμέρᾳ κρίσεως ἢ σοί

plēn legō hymin hoti gē Sodomōn anektoteron estai en hēmera kriseōs ē soi

besides I say to you - earth of Sodom more tolerable it will be in days of judgment or to You

11:25

Ἐν ἐκείνῳ τῷ καιρῷ ἀποκριθεὶς ὁ Ἰησοῦς εἶπεν Ἐξομολογοῦμαί σοι Πάτερ Κύριε τοῦ οὐρανοῦ καὶ τῆς γῆς ὅτι ἔκρυψας ταῦτα ἀπὸ σοφῶν συνετῶν ἀπεκάλυψας αὐτὰ νηπίοις

en ekeinō tō kairō apokritheis ho Iēsous eipen Exomologoumai soi Pater Kyrie tou ouranou kai tēs gēs hoti ekrypsas tauta apo sophōn synetōn apekalypsas auta nēpiois

By that - time He answering - Jesus said I fully consent to You Father Lord of the air And - land - You did hide these things from wise learned did reveal them to little children

11:26

ναί ὁ Πατήρ ὅτι οὕτως εὐδοκία ἐγένετο ἔμπροσθέν σου

nai ho Patēr hoti houtōs eudokia egeneto emprosthen sou

11:27

Πάντα μοι παρεδόθη ὑπὸ τοῦ Πατρός μου καὶ οὐδεὶς ἐπιγινώσκει τὸν Υἱὸν εἰ μὴ ὁ Πατήρ οὐδὲ Πατέρα τις Υἱὸς ᾧ ἐὰν βούληται ἀποκαλύψαι

Panta moi paredothē hypo tou Patros mou kai oudeis epiginōskei ton Huion ei mē ho Patēr oude Patera tis Huios hō ean boulētai apokalypsai

All things Me had been delivered up by of the Father of Me And no one knows the Son if not - Father nor [As] father anyone Son which if might choose to reveal [Him]

11:28

Δεῦτε πρός με πάντες οἱ κοπιῶντες καὶ πεφορτισμένοι κἀγὼ ἀναπαύσω ὑμᾶς

Deute pros me pantes hoi kopiōntes kai pephortismenoi kagō anapausō hymas

Come to me all - toiling And being burdened I also will give rest you

11:29

ἄρατε τὸν ζυγόν μου ἐφ’ ὑμᾶς καὶ μάθετε ἀπ’ ἐμοῦ ὅτι πραΰς εἰμι ταπεινὸς τῇ καρδίᾳ εὑρήσετε ἀνάπαυσιν ταῖς ψυχαῖς ὑμῶν

arate ton zygon mou eph’ hymas kai mathete ap’ emou hoti praus eimi tapeinos tē kardia heurēsete anapausin tais psychais hymōn

Take the yoke of Me against you And learn from Me - gentle am [He] humble the heart you will find rest - souls you

11:30

ὁ γὰρ ζυγός μου χρηστὸς καὶ τὸ φορτίον ἐλαφρόν ἐστιν

ho gar zygos mou chrēstos kai to phortion elaphron estin

- for yoke of Me [is] easy And the burden light is
