Matthew 11 | Matthew 13

12:1

Ἐν ἐκείνῳ τῷ καιρῷ ἐπορεύθη ὁ Ἰησοῦς τοῖς σάββασιν διὰ τῶν σπορίμων οἱ δὲ μαθηταὶ αὐτοῦ ἐπείνασαν καὶ ἤρξαντο τίλλειν στάχυας ἐσθίειν

en ekeinō tō kairō eporeuthē ho Iēsous tois sabbasin dia tōn sporimōn hoi de mathētai autou epeinasan kai ērxanto tillein stachyas esthiein

By that - time went - Jesus on the Sabbaths on account of of the grainfields - however disciples of Him’” were hungry And began to pluck [the] heads of grain to eat

12:2

οἱ δὲ Φαρισαῖοι ἰδόντες εἶπαν αὐτῷ Ἰδοὺ μαθηταί σου ποιοῦσιν ὃ οὐκ ἔξεστιν ποιεῖν ἐν σαββάτῳ

hoi de Pharisaioi idontes eipan autō Idou mathētai sou poiousin ho ouk exestin poiein en sabbatō

- however Pharisees having seen they said to Him Behold disciples of You do they that which not it is lawful to make in Sabbath

12:3

Ὁ δὲ εἶπεν αὐτοῖς Οὐκ ἀνέγνωτε τί ἐποίησεν Δαυὶδ ὅτε ἐπείνασεν καὶ οἱ μετ’ αὐτοῦ;

ho de eipen autois Ouk anegnōte ti epoiēsen Dauid hote epeinasen kai hoi met’ autou

- however said to them Not did you read Which did David when hungered And - with him?

12:4

πῶς εἰσῆλθεν εἰς τὸν οἶκον τοῦ Θεοῦ καὶ τοὺς ἄρτους τῆς προθέσεως ἔφαγον ὃ οὐκ ἐξὸν ἦν αὐτῷ φαγεῖν οὐδὲ τοῖς μετ’ αὐτοῦ εἰ μὴ ἱερεῦσιν μόνοις;

pōs eisēlthen eis ton oikon tou Theou kai tous artous tēs protheseōs ephagon ho ouk exon ēn autō phagein oude tois met’ autou ei mē hiereusin monois

How he entered for the house of the of God And the loaves - presentation ate that which not lawful was to Him to eat nor on the with of Him’” if not priests only?

12:5

Ἢ οὐκ ἀνέγνωτε ἐν τῷ νόμῳ ὅτι τοῖς σάββασιν οἱ ἱερεῖς ἱερῷ τὸ σάββατον βεβηλοῦσιν καὶ ἀναίτιοί εἰσιν;

ē ouk anegnōte en tō nomō hoti tois sabbasin hoi hiereis hierō to sabbaton bebēlousin kai anaitioi eisin

Or not did you read in - law - on the Sabbaths - priests temple the Sabbath profane And guiltless are?

12:6

λέγω δὲ ὑμῖν ὅτι τοῦ ἱεροῦ μεῖζόν ἐστιν ὧδε

legō de hymin hoti tou hierou meizon estin hōde

I say however to you - of the temple a greater than is here

12:7

Εἰ δὲ ἐγνώκειτε τί ἐστιν Ἔλεος θέλω καὶ οὐ θυσίαν οὐκ ἂν κατεδικάσατε τοὺς ἀναιτίους

Ei de egnōkeite ti estin Eleos thelō kai ou thysian ouk an katedikasate tous anaitious

If however you had known Which is Mercy will And not sacrifice’ not - you would have condemned the guiltless

12:8

κύριος γάρ ἐστιν τοῦ σαββάτου ὁ Υἱὸς ἀνθρώπου

kyrios gar estin tou sabbatou ho Huios anthrōpou

master for is of the Sabbath - Son of Man

12:9

Καὶ μεταβὰς ἐκεῖθεν ἦλθεν εἰς τὴν συναγωγὴν αὐτῶν

kai metabas ekeithen ēlthen eis tēn synagōgēn autōn

And having departed from there [that] came for the synagogue of them

12:10

καὶ ἰδοὺ ἄνθρωπος χεῖρα ἔχων ξηράν ἐπηρώτησαν αὐτὸν λέγοντες Εἰ ἔξεστιν τοῖς σάββασιν θεραπεῦσαι; ἵνα κατηγορήσωσιν αὐτοῦ

kai idou anthrōpos cheira echōn xēran epērōtēsan auton legontes Ei exestin tois sabbasin therapeusai hina katēgorēsōsin autou

And Behold a man hand having withered they asked him saying If it is lawful on the Sabbaths to heal? so that they might accuse of Him’”

12:11

Ὁ δὲ εἶπεν αὐτοῖς Τίς ἔσται ἐξ ὑμῶν ἄνθρωπος ὃς ἕξει πρόβατον ἕν καὶ ἐὰν ἐμπέσῃ τοῦτο τοῖς σάββασιν εἰς βόθυνον οὐχὶ κρατήσει αὐτὸ ἐγερεῖ;

ho de eipen autois Tis estai ex hymōn anthrōpos hos hexei probaton hen kai ean empesē touto tois sabbasin eis bothynon ouchi kratēsei auto egerei

- however said to them Who it will be out of you a man who will hold sheep one And if falls this on the Sabbaths for a pit Do not will he take hold of it will raise [it] up?

12:12

πόσῳ οὖν διαφέρει ἄνθρωπος προβάτου ὥστε ἔξεστιν τοῖς σάββασιν καλῶς ποιεῖν

posō oun diapherei anthrōpos probatou hōste exestin tois sabbasin kalōs poiein

how much therefore is more valuable a man than a sheep so as it is lawful on the Sabbaths well to make

12:13

Τότε λέγει τῷ ἀνθρώπῳ Ἔκτεινόν σου τὴν χεῖρα καὶ ἐξέτεινεν ἀπεκατεστάθη ὑγιὴς ὡς ἡ ἄλλη

Tote legei tō anthrōpō Ekteinon sou tēn cheira kai exeteinen apekatestathē hygiēs hōs hē allē

Then He says - man Stretch out of You the hand And he stretched [it] out was restored sound as the another

12:14

ἐξελθόντες δὲ οἱ Φαρισαῖοι συμβούλιον ἔλαβον κατ’ αὐτοῦ ὅπως αὐτὸν ἀπολέσωσιν

exelthontes de hoi Pharisaioi symboulion elabon kat’ autou hopōs auton apolesōsin

having gone forth however - Pharisees counsel received With of Him’” how him they might destroy

12:15

Ὁ δὲ Ἰησοῦς γνοὺς ἀνεχώρησεν ἐκεῖθεν καὶ ἠκολούθησαν αὐτῷ [ὄχλοι] πολλοί ἐθεράπευσεν αὐτοὺς πάντας

ho de Iēsous gnous anechōrēsen ekeithen kai ēkolouthēsan autō ochloi polloi etherapeusen autous pantas

- however Jesus having known [it] withdrew from there And they followed to Him multitudes many He healed they all

12:16

καὶ ἐπετίμησεν αὐτοῖς ἵνα μὴ φανερὸν αὐτὸν ποιήσωσιν

kai epetimēsen autois hina mē phaneron auton poiēsōsin

And rebuked to them so that not known him they should make

12:17

ἵνα πληρωθῇ τὸ ῥηθὲν διὰ Ἠσαΐου τοῦ προφήτου λέγοντος

hina plērōthē to rhēthen dia Ēsaiou tou prophētou legontos

so that may be fulfilled the was spoken of on account of Isaiah of the prophet saying

12:18

Ἰδοὺ ὁ παῖς μου ὃν ᾑρέτισα ἀγαπητός ‹εἰς› εὐδόκησεν ἡ ψυχή θήσω τὸ Πνεῦμά ἐπ’ αὐτόν καὶ κρίσιν τοῖς ἔθνεσιν ἀπαγγελεῖ

Idou ho pais mou hon hēretisa agapētos eis eudokēsen hē psychē thēsō to Pneuma ep’ auton kai krisin tois ethnesin apangelei

Behold - servant of Me which I have chosen beloved in has found delight the soul I will put the Spirit in Him And justice on the Gentiles He will proclaim

12:19

οὐκ ἐρίσει οὐδὲ κραυγάσει ἀκούσει τις ἐν ταῖς πλατείαις τὴν φωνὴν αὐτοῦ

ouk erisei oude kraugasei akousei tis en tais plateiais tēn phōnēn autou

not will He quarrel nor will he cry out will hear anyone in - streets the a cry of Him’”

12:20

κάλαμον συντετριμμένον οὐ κατεάξει καὶ λίνον τυφόμενον σβέσει ἕως ἂν ἐκβάλῃ εἰς νῖκος τὴν κρίσιν

kalamon syntetrimmenon ou kateaxei kai linon typhomenon sbesei heōs an ekbalē eis nikos tēn krisin

A reed bruised not He will break And a wick smoldering He will quench until - He should cast forth for victory the justice

12:21

καὶ τῷ ὀνόματι αὐτοῦ ἔθνη ἐλπιοῦσιν

kai tō onomati autou ethnē elpiousin

And - named of Him’” nations will hope”

12:22

Τότε προσηνέχθη αὐτῷ δαιμονιζόμενος τυφλὸς καὶ κωφός ἐθεράπευσεν αὐτόν ὥστε τὸν κωφὸν λαλεῖν βλέπειν

Tote prosēnechthē autō daimonizomenos typhlos kai kōphos etherapeusen auton hōste ton kōphon lalein blepein

Then was brought to Him [one] possessed by a demon blind And mute [man] He healed Him so as the a deaf man to speak to see

12:23

καὶ ἐξίσταντο πάντες οἱ ὄχλοι ἔλεγον Μήτι οὗτός ἐστιν ὁ υἱὸς Δαυίδ;

kai existanto pantes hoi ochloi elegon Mēti houtos estin ho huios Dauid

And they were amazed all - crowds were saying Not this is - son of David?

12:24

Οἱ δὲ Φαρισαῖοι ἀκούσαντες εἶπον Οὗτος οὐκ ἐκβάλλει τὰ δαιμόνια εἰ μὴ ἐν τῷ Βεελζεβοὺλ ἄρχοντι τῶν δαιμονίων

hoi de Pharisaioi akousantes eipon Houtos ouk ekballei ta daimonia ei mē en tō Beelzeboul archonti tōn daimoniōn

- however Pharisees having heard [of it] said This not drives out the demons if not in - Beelzebul prince of the demons

12:25

Εἰδὼς δὲ τὰς ἐνθυμήσεις αὐτῶν εἶπεν αὐτοῖς Πᾶσα βασιλεία μερισθεῖσα καθ’ ἑαυτῆς ἐρημοῦται καὶ πᾶσα πόλις ἢ οἰκία οὐ σταθήσεται

eidōs de tas enthymēseis autōn eipen autois Pasa basileia meristheisa kath’ heautēs erēmoutai kai pasa polis ē oikia ou stathēsetai

Having known however the thoughts of them said to them Every kingdom having been divided against itself is brought to desolation And all city or a house not will stand

12:26

καὶ εἰ ὁ Σατανᾶς τὸν Σατανᾶν ἐκβάλλει ἐφ’ ἑαυτὸν ἐμερίσθη πῶς οὖν σταθήσεται ἡ βασιλεία αὐτοῦ;

kai ei ho Satanas ton Satanan ekballei eph’ heauton emeristhē pōs oun stathēsetai hē basileia autou

And if - Satan the Satan drives out against himself has been divided How therefore will stand the kingdom him?

12:27

Καὶ εἰ ἐγὼ ἐν Βεελζεβοὺλ ἐκβάλλω τὰ δαιμόνια οἱ υἱοὶ ὑμῶν τίνι ἐκβάλλουσιν; διὰ τοῦτο αὐτοὶ κριταὶ ἔσονται

kai ei egō en Beelzeboul ekballō ta daimonia hoi huioi hymōn tini ekballousin dia touto autoi kritai esontai

And if I in Beelzebul cast out the demons - sons you what do they cast out? on account of this yourselves judges will be

12:28

εἰ δὲ ἐν Πνεύματι Θεοῦ ἐγὼ ἐκβάλλω τὰ δαιμόνια ἄρα ἔφθασεν ἐφ’ ὑμᾶς ἡ βασιλεία τοῦ

ei de en Pneumati Theou egō ekballō ta daimonia ara ephthasen eph’ hymas hē basileia tou

if however in [the] Spirit of God I cast out the demons then has come against you the kingdom of the

12:29

Ἢ πῶς δύναταί τις εἰσελθεῖν εἰς τὴν οἰκίαν τοῦ ἰσχυροῦ καὶ τὰ σκεύη αὐτοῦ ἁρπάσαι ἐὰν μὴ πρῶτον δήσῃ τὸν ἰσχυρόν τότε διαρπάσει;

ē pōs dynatai tis eiselthein eis tēn oikian tou ischyrou kai ta skeuē autou harpasai ean mē prōton dēsē ton ischyron tote diarpasei

Or How is able anyone to enter for the house of the strong man And the goods of Him’” to plunder if not first he binds the strong [man]? then he will plunder

12:30

Ὁ μὴ ὢν μετ’ ἐμοῦ κατ’ ἐστιν καὶ ὁ συνάγων σκορπίζει

ho mē ōn met’ emou kat’ estin kai ho synagōn skorpizei

- not being with Me With is And - gathering scatters

12:31

Διὰ τοῦτο λέγω ὑμῖν πᾶσα ἁμαρτία καὶ βλασφημία ἀφεθήσεται τοῖς ἀνθρώποις ἡ δὲ τοῦ Πνεύματος οὐκ

Dia touto legō hymin pasa hamartia kai blasphēmia aphethēsetai tois anthrōpois hē de tou Pneumatos ouk

Because of this I say to you all sin And slander will be forgiven on the men the however of the Spirit not

12:32

καὶ ὃς ἐὰν εἴπῃ λόγον κατὰ τοῦ Υἱοῦ ἀνθρώπου ἀφεθήσεται αὐτῷ δ’ ἂν Πνεύματος Ἁγίου οὐκ οὔτε ἐν τούτῳ τῷ αἰῶνι μέλλοντι

kai hos ean eipē logon kata tou Huiou anthrōpou aphethēsetai autō d’ an Pneumatos Hagiou ouk oute en toutō tō aiōni mellonti

And who if says matter with of the Son of Man will be forgiven to Him however - Spirit Holy not neither in to this [man] - age coming [one]

12:33

Ἢ ποιήσατε τὸ δένδρον καλὸν καὶ τὸν καρπὸν αὐτοῦ καλόν ἢ σαπρὸν σαπρόν ἐκ γὰρ τοῦ καρποῦ γινώσκεται

ē poiēsate to dendron kalon kai ton karpon autou kalon ē sapron sapron ek gar tou karpou ginōsketai

Or Produce the tree Good [is] And the fruit of Him’” good or the bad bad from for of the fruit is known

12:34

γεννήματα ἐχιδνῶν πῶς δύνασθε ἀγαθὰ λαλεῖν πονηροὶ ὄντες; ἐκ γὰρ τοῦ περισσεύματος τῆς καρδίας τὸ στόμα λαλεῖ

gennēmata echidnōn pōs dynasthe agatha lalein ponēroi ontes ek gar tou perisseumatos tēs kardias to stoma lalei

Offspring of vipers How Are you able good to speak evil being? from for of the abundance - heart the mouth he says

12:35

ὁ ἀγαθὸς ἄνθρωπος ἐκ τοῦ ἀγαθοῦ θησαυροῦ ἐκβάλλει ἀγαθά καὶ πονηρὸς πονηροῦ πονηρά

ho agathos anthrōpos ek tou agathou thēsaurou ekballei agatha kai ponēros ponērou ponēra

- good a man from of the good treasure drives out good things And evil evil evil things

12:36

λέγω δὲ ὑμῖν ὅτι πᾶν ῥῆμα ἀργὸν ὃ λαλήσουσιν οἱ ἄνθρωποι ἀποδώσουσιν περὶ αὐτοῦ λόγον ἐν ἡμέρᾳ κρίσεως

legō de hymin hoti pan rhēma argon ho lalēsousin hoi anthrōpoi apodōsousin peri autou logon en hēmera kriseōs

I say however to you - everything saying careless that which they will speak - men they will give around of Him’” matter in days of judgment

12:37

ἐκ γὰρ τῶν λόγων σου δικαιωθήσῃ καὶ καταδικασθήσῃ

ek gar tōn logōn sou dikaiōthēsē kai katadikasthēsē

from for of the words of You you will be justified And you will be condemned

12:38

Τότε ἀπεκρίθησαν αὐτῷ τινες τῶν γραμματέων καὶ Φαρισαίων λέγοντες Διδάσκαλε θέλομεν ἀπὸ σοῦ σημεῖον ἰδεῖν

Tote apekrithēsan autō tines tōn grammateōn kai Pharisaiōn legontes Didaskale thelomen apo sou sēmeion idein

Then answered to Him some of the scribes And Pharisees saying Teacher we desire from you a sign to see

12:39

Ὁ δὲ ἀποκριθεὶς εἶπεν αὐτοῖς Γενεὰ πονηρὰ καὶ μοιχαλὶς σημεῖον ἐπιζητεῖ οὐ δοθήσεται αὐτῇ εἰ μὴ τὸ Ἰωνᾶ τοῦ προφήτου

ho de apokritheis eipen autois Genea ponēra kai moichalis sēmeion epizētei ou dothēsetai autē ei mē to Iōna tou prophētou

- however He answering said to them A generation evils And adulterous a sign seeks for not it will be given on her if not the of Jonah of the prophet

12:40

ὥσπερ γὰρ ἦν Ἰωνᾶς ἐν τῇ κοιλίᾳ τοῦ κήτους τρεῖς ἡμέρας καὶ νύκτας οὕτως ἔσται ὁ Υἱὸς ἀνθρώπου καρδίᾳ τῆς γῆς

hōsper gar ēn Iōnas en tē koilia tou kētous treis hēmeras kai nyktas houtōs estai ho Huios anthrōpou kardia tēs gēs

as for was Jonah in the belly of the great fish three days And nights thus it will be - Son of Man heart - land

12:41

Ἄνδρες Νινευῖται ἀναστήσονται ἐν τῇ κρίσει μετὰ τῆς γενεᾶς ταύτης καὶ κατακρινοῦσιν αὐτήν ὅτι μετενόησαν εἰς τὸ κήρυγμα Ἰωνᾶ ἰδοὺ πλεῖον ὧδε

andres Nineuitai anastēsontai en tē krisei meta tēs geneas tautēs kai katakrinousin autēn hoti metenoēsan eis to kērygma Iōna idou pleion hōde

The men of Nineveh will stand up in the judgment’ with - generation this And they will condemn her - they repented for the preaching of Jonah Behold more here

12:42

βασίλισσα νότου ἐγερθήσεται ἐν τῇ κρίσει μετὰ τῆς γενεᾶς ταύτης καὶ κατακρινεῖ αὐτήν ὅτι ἦλθεν ἐκ τῶν περάτων γῆς ἀκοῦσαι τὴν σοφίαν Σολομῶνος ἰδοὺ πλεῖον ὧδε

basilissa notou egerthēsetai en tē krisei meta tēs geneas tautēs kai katakrinei autēn hoti ēlthen ek tōn peratōn gēs akousai tēn sophian Solomōnos idou pleion hōde

The queen of [the] south Will rise up in the judgment’ with - generation this And will condemn her - [that] came from of the ends land to hear the wisdom of Solomon Behold more here

12:43

Ὅταν δὲ τὸ ἀκάθαρτον πνεῦμα ἐξέλθῃ ἀπὸ τοῦ ἀνθρώπου διέρχεται δι’ ἀνύδρων τόπων ζητοῦν ἀνάπαυσιν καὶ οὐχ εὑρίσκει

Hotan de to akatharton pneuma exelthē apo tou anthrōpou dierchetai di’ anydrōn topōn zētoun anapausin kai ouch heuriskei

When however the unclean spirit is gone out from of the of Man it passes after [some] waterless places seeking rest And not finds

12:44

τότε λέγει Εἰς τὸν οἶκόν μου ἐπιστρέψω ὅθεν ἐξῆλθον καὶ ἐλθὸν εὑρίσκει σχολάζοντα 〈〈καὶ〉 σεσαρωμένον κεκοσμημένον

tote legei Eis ton oikon mou epistrepsō hothen exēlthon kai elthon heuriskei scholazonta kai sesarōmenon kekosmēmenon

then He says To the home of Me I will return from where have I come forth And having come finds being unoccupied and swept put in order

12:45

τότε πορεύεται καὶ παραλαμβάνει μεθ’ ἑαυτοῦ ἑπτὰ ἕτερα πνεύματα πονηρότερα εἰσελθόντα κατοικεῖ ἐκεῖ γίνεται τὰ ἔσχατα τοῦ ἀνθρώπου ἐκείνου χείρονα τῶν πρώτων οὕτως ἔσται τῇ γενεᾷ ταύτῃ πονηρᾷ

tote poreuetai kai paralambanei meth’ heautou hepta hetera pneumata ponērotera eiselthonta katoikei ekei ginetai ta eschata tou anthrōpou ekeinou cheirona tōn prōtōn houtōs estai tē genea tautē ponēra

then he goes And takes with [Him] with itself seven other spirits more evil having entered in they dwell there it came to pass the last of the of Man that worse of the first thus it will be the generation this evil

12:46

Ἔτι ‹δὲ› αὐτοῦ λαλοῦντος τοῖς ὄχλοις ἰδοὺ ἡ μήτηρ καὶ οἱ ἀδελφοὶ εἱστήκεισαν ἔξω ζητοῦντες αὐτῷ λαλῆσαι

Eti de autou lalountos tois ochlois idou hē mētēr kai hoi adelphoi heistēkeisan exō zētountes autō lalēsai

[While] yet now of Him’” is speaking on the crowds Behold the mother And - brothers were standing out seeking to Him speaking

12:47

εἶπεν δέ τις αὐτῷ Ἰδοὺ ἡ μήτηρ σου καὶ οἱ ἀδελφοί ἔξω ἑστήκασιν ζητοῦντές σοι λαλῆσαι

eipen de tis autō Idou hē mētēr sou kai hoi adelphoi exō hestēkasin zētountes soi lalēsai

said now anyone to Him Behold the mother of You And - brothers out are standing seeking to You speaking

12:48

Ὁ δὲ ἀποκριθεὶς εἶπεν τῷ λέγοντι αὐτῷ Τίς ἐστιν ἡ μήτηρ μου καὶ τίνες εἰσὶν οἱ ἀδελφοί μου;

ho de apokritheis eipen tō legonti autō Tis estin hē mētēr mou kai tines eisin hoi adelphoi mou

- however He answering said - telling to Him Who is the mother of Me And who are - brothers of Me?

12:49

καὶ ἐκτείνας τὴν χεῖρα αὐτοῦ ἐπὶ τοὺς μαθητὰς εἶπεν Ἰδοὺ ἡ μήτηρ μου οἱ ἀδελφοί

kai ekteinas tēn cheira autou epi tous mathētas eipen Idou hē mētēr mou hoi adelphoi

And having stretched out the hand of Him’” at the disciples said Behold the mother of Me - brothers

12:50

ὅστις γὰρ ἂν ποιήσῃ τὸ θέλημα τοῦ Πατρός μου ἐν οὐρανοῖς αὐτός ἀδελφὸς καὶ ἀδελφὴ μήτηρ ἐστίν

hostis gar an poiēsē to thelēma tou Patros mou en ouranois autos adelphos kai adelphē mētēr estin

who for - shall do the will of the Father of Me in heavens Himself brother And sister mother He is
