Mark 14 | Mark 16

15:1

Καὶ εὐθὺς πρωῒ συμβούλιον ποιήσαντες* οἱ ἀρχιερεῖς μετὰ τῶν πρεσβυτέρων καὶ γραμματέων ὅλον τὸ συνέδριον δήσαντες τὸν Ἰησοῦν ἀπήνεγκαν παρέδωκαν Πιλάτῳ

kai euthys prōi symboulion poiēsantes hoi archiereis meta tōn presbyterōn kai grammateōn holon to synedrion dēsantes ton Iēsoun apēnenkan paredōkan Pilatō

And immediately very early counsel having formed - chief priests with of the elders And scribes whole the Council having bound the Jesus they led [Him] away delivered [Him] to Pilate

15:2

Καὶ ἐπηρώτησεν αὐτὸν ὁ Πιλᾶτος Σὺ εἶ Βασιλεὺς τῶν Ἰουδαίων; Ὁ δὲ ἀποκριθεὶς αὐτῷ λέγει λέγεις

kai epērōtēsen auton ho Pilatos Sy ei Basileus tōn Ioudaiōn ho de apokritheis autō legei legeis

And He asked him - Pilate You are King of the Jews? - however He answering to Him He says say You

15:3

Καὶ κατηγόρουν αὐτοῦ οἱ ἀρχιερεῖς πολλά

kai katēgoroun autou hoi archiereis polla

And were accusing of Him’” - chief priests many things

15:4

Ὁ δὲ Πιλᾶτος πάλιν ἐπηρώτα αὐτὸν λέγων Οὐκ ἀποκρίνῃ οὐδέν; ἴδε πόσα σου κατηγοροῦσιν

ho de Pilatos palin epērōta auton legōn Ouk apokrinē ouden ide posa sou katēgorousin

- however Pilate again He was asking him saying Not answer You nothing? look how many things of You they testify against

15:5

Ὁ δὲ Ἰησοῦς οὐκέτι οὐδὲν ἀπεκρίθη ὥστε θαυμάζειν τὸν Πιλᾶτον

ho de Iēsous ouketi ouden apekrithē hōste thaumazein ton Pilaton

- however Jesus no longer anything she answered so as to amaze the Pilate

15:6

Κατὰ δὲ ἑορτὴν ἀπέλυεν αὐτοῖς ἕνα δέσμιον ὃν παρῃτοῦντο

Kata de heortēn apelyen autois hena desmion hon parētounto

At however [the] feast he used to release to them one prisoner which they requested

15:7

ἦν δὲ ὁ λεγόμενος Βαραββᾶς μετὰ τῶν στασιαστῶν δεδεμένος οἵτινες ἐν τῇ στάσει φόνον πεποιήκεισαν

ēn de ho legomenos Barabbas meta tōn stasiastōn dedemenos hoitines en tē stasei phonon pepoiēkeisan

was however - called Barabbas with of the rebels having been bound such as in the insurrection murder had committed

15:8

καὶ ἀναβὰς ὁ ὄχλος ἤρξατο αἰτεῖσθαι καθὼς ἐποίει αὐτοῖς

kai anabas ho ochlos ērxato aiteisthai kathōs epoiei autois

And having cried out - crowd he began to beg [him to do] as he did to them

15:9

Ὁ δὲ Πιλᾶτος ἀπεκρίθη αὐτοῖς λέγων Θέλετε ἀπολύσω ὑμῖν τὸν Βασιλέα τῶν Ἰουδαίων;

ho de Pilatos apekrithē autois legōn Thelete apolysō hymin ton Basilea tōn Ioudaiōn

- however Pilate she answered to them saying Wish you [that] I shall send away to you the King of the Jews?

15:10

ἐγίνωσκεν γὰρ ὅτι διὰ φθόνον παραδεδώκεισαν αὐτὸν οἱ ἀρχιερεῖς

eginōsken gar hoti dia phthonon paradedōkeisan auton hoi archiereis

He was aware for - on account of envy had delivered up him - chief priests

15:11

Οἱ δὲ ἀρχιερεῖς ἀνέσεισαν τὸν ὄχλον ἵνα μᾶλλον Βαραββᾶν ἀπολύσῃ αὐτοῖς

hoi de archiereis aneseisan ton ochlon hina mallon Barabban apolysē autois

- however chief priests stirred up the crowd so that rather Barabbas shall divorce to them

15:12

Ὁ δὲ Πιλᾶτος πάλιν ἀποκριθεὶς ἔλεγεν αὐτοῖς Τί οὖν ‹θέλετε› ποιήσω ὃν λέγετε τὸν Βασιλέα τῶν Ἰουδαίων;

ho de Pilatos palin apokritheis elegen autois Ti oun thelete poiēsō hon legete ton Basilea tōn Ioudaiōn

- however Pilate again He answering He said to them What therefore do you wish [that] I will make which say [that] the King of the Jews?

15:13

Οἱ δὲ πάλιν ἔκραξαν Σταύρωσον αὐτόν

hoi de palin ekraxan Staurōson auton

- however again they cried out Crucify Him

15:14

Ὁ δὲ Πιλᾶτος ἔλεγεν αὐτοῖς Τί γὰρ ἐποίησεν κακόν; Οἱ περισσῶς ἔκραξαν Σταύρωσον αὐτόν

ho de Pilatos elegen autois Ti gar epoiēsen kakon hoi perissōs ekraxan Staurōson auton

- however Pilate He said to them What for did evil? - exceedingly they cried out Crucify Him

15:15

Ὁ δὲ Πιλᾶτος βουλόμενος τῷ ὄχλῳ τὸ ἱκανὸν ποιῆσαι ἀπέλυσεν αὐτοῖς τὸν Βαραββᾶν καὶ παρέδωκεν Ἰησοῦν φραγελλώσας ἵνα σταυρωθῇ

ho de Pilatos boulomenos tō ochlō to hikanon poiēsai apelysen autois ton Barabban kai paredōken Iēsoun phragellōsas hina staurōthē

- however Pilate desiring - crowd the satisfactory to do He sent away to them the Barabbas And betrayed Jesus having flogged [him] so that He might be crucified

15:16

Οἱ δὲ στρατιῶται ἀπήγαγον αὐτὸν ἔσω τῆς αὐλῆς ὅ ἐστιν Πραιτώριον καὶ συνκαλοῦσιν ὅλην τὴν σπεῖραν

hoi de stratiōtai apēgagon auton esō tēs aulēs ho estin Praitōrion kai synkalousin holēn tēn speiran

- however the soldiers they led away him within - palace which is [the] Praetorium And they call together all the cohort

15:17

καὶ ἐνδιδύσκουσιν αὐτὸν πορφύραν περιτιθέασιν αὐτῷ πλέξαντες ἀκάνθινον στέφανον

kai endidyskousin auton porphyran perititheasin autō plexantes akanthinon stephanon

And they put on him purple placed on to Him having twisted together of thorns a crown

15:18

καὶ ἤρξαντο ἀσπάζεσθαι αὐτόν Χαῖρε Βασιλεῦ τῶν Ἰουδαίων

kai ērxanto aspazesthai auton Chaire Basileu tōn Ioudaiōn

And began to salute Him Hail King of the Jews

15:19

Καὶ ἔτυπτον αὐτοῦ τὴν κεφαλὴν καλάμῳ καὶ ἐνέπτυον αὐτῷ τιθέντες τὰ γόνατα προσεκύνουν

kai etypton autou tēn kephalēn kalamō kai eneptyon autō tithentes ta gonata prosekynoun

And they kept striking of Him’” the head with a reed And spitting on to Him bending the knees they were kneeling down

15:20

καὶ ὅτε ἐνέπαιξαν αὐτῷ ἐξέδυσαν αὐτὸν τὴν πορφύραν ἐνέδυσαν τὰ ἱμάτια αὐτοῦ ‹ἴδια› Καὶ ἐξάγουσιν ἵνα σταυρώσωσιν αὐτόν

kai hote enepaixan autō exedysan auton tēn porphyran enedysan ta himatia autou idia kai exagousin hina staurōsōsin auton

And when they had mocked to Him they took off him the purple put on the garments of Him’” own And they are leading out so that they might crucify Him

15:21

Καὶ ἀγγαρεύουσιν παράγοντά τινα Σίμωνα Κυρηναῖον ἐρχόμενον ἀπ’ ἀγροῦ τὸν πατέρα Ἀλεξάνδρου καὶ Ῥούφου ἵνα ἄρῃ σταυρὸν αὐτοῦ

kai angareuousin paragonta tina Simōna Kyrēnaion erchomenon ap’ agrou ton patera Alexandrou kai Rhouphou hina arē stauron autou

And they compel passing by someone Simon of Cyrene coming from the country the father of Alexander And Rufus so that he might carry cross of Him’”

15:22

Καὶ φέρουσιν αὐτὸν ἐπὶ τὸν Γολγοθᾶν τόπον ὅ ἐστιν μεθερμηνευόμενον* Κρανίου τόπος

kai pherousin auton epi ton Golgothan topon ho estin methermēneuomenon Kraniou topos

And they bring him at the Golgotha a place which is translated of a Skull place

15:23

καὶ ἐδίδουν αὐτῷ ἐσμυρνισμένον οἶνον ὃς δὲ οὐκ ἔλαβεν

kai edidoun autō esmyrnismenon oinon hos de ouk elaben

And began to take to Him having been mixed with myrrh wine who however not took

15:24

Καὶ σταυροῦσιν αὐτὸν καὶ διαμερίζονται τὰ ἱμάτια αὐτοῦ βάλλοντες κλῆρον ἐπ’ αὐτὰ τίς τί ἄρῃ

kai staurousin auton kai diamerizontai ta himatia autou ballontes klēron ep’ auta tis ti arē

And having crucified him And they divided the garments of Him’” casting lots in them who Which he might carry

15:25

Ἦν δὲ ὥρα τρίτη καὶ ἐσταύρωσαν αὐτόν

ēn de hōra tritē kai estaurōsan auton

There was however an hour third And they crucified Him

15:26

καὶ ἦν ἡ ἐπιγραφὴ τῆς αἰτίας αὐτοῦ ἐπιγεγραμμένη Ο* ΒΑΣΙΛΕΥΣ ΤΩΝ ΙΟΥΔΑΙΩΝ

kai ēn hē epigraphē tēs aitias autou epigegrammenē HO BASILEUS TŌN IOUDAIŌN

And was the inscription - accusation of Him’” having been written: The King of the Jews

15:27

Καὶ σὺν αὐτῷ σταυροῦσιν δύο λῃστάς ἕνα ἐκ δεξιῶν καὶ ἐξ εὐωνύμων αὐτοῦ

kai syn autō staurousin dyo lēstas hena ek dexiōn kai ex euōnymōn autou

And with to Him having crucified two robbers one from [Your] right hand And out of [the] left hand of Him’”

15:28

⧼Καὶ ἐπληρώθη ἡ γραφὴ λέγουσα Καὶ μετὰ ἀνόμων ἐλογίσθη⧽

Kai eplērōthē hē graphē legousa kai meta anomōn elogisthē

And was fulfilled the Scripture saying And with lawless he was reckoned

15:29

Καὶ οἱ παραπορευόμενοι ἐβλασφήμουν αὐτὸν κινοῦντες τὰς κεφαλὰς αὐτῶν καὶ λέγοντες Οὐὰ ὁ καταλύων τὸν ναὸν οἰκοδομῶν ἐν τρισὶν ἡμέραις

kai hoi paraporeuomenoi eblasphēmoun auton kinountes tas kephalas autōn kai legontes Oua ho katalyōn ton naon oikodomōn en trisin hēmerais

And - passing by were railing at him shaking the heads of them And saying Aha - destroying the temple building [it] in three days

15:30

σῶσον σεαυτὸν καταβὰς ἀπὸ τοῦ σταυροῦ

sōson seauton katabas apo tou staurou

save yourself having descended from of the cross

15:31

Ὁμοίως καὶ οἱ ἀρχιερεῖς ἐμπαίζοντες πρὸς ἀλλήλους μετὰ τῶν γραμματέων ἔλεγον Ἄλλους ἔσωσεν ἑαυτὸν οὐ δύναται σῶσαι

homoiōs kai hoi archiereis empaizontes pros allēlous meta tōn grammateōn elegon Allous esōsen heauton ou dynatai sōsai

Likewise And - chief priests mocking to each other with of the scribes were saying Others He saved himself not is able to save

15:32

ὁ Χριστὸς Βασιλεὺς Ἰσραὴλ καταβάτω νῦν ἀπὸ τοῦ σταυροῦ ἵνα ἴδωμεν καὶ πιστεύσωμεν οἱ συνεσταυρωμένοι σὺν αὐτῷ ὠνείδιζον αὐτόν

ho Christos Basileus Israēl katabatō nyn apo tou staurou hina idōmen kai pisteusōmen hoi synestaurōmenoi syn autō ōneidizon auton

- Christ King of Israel let him come down now from of the cross so that we might see And believe - being crucified with to Him were upbraiding Him

15:33

Καὶ γενομένης ὥρας ἕκτης σκότος ἐγένετο ἐφ’ ὅλην τὴν γῆν ἕως ἐνάτης

kai genomenēs hōras hektēs skotos egeneto eph’ holēn tēn gēn heōs enatēs

And having come the hour sixth darkness it came to pass against all the soil until ninth

15:34

καὶ τῇ ἐνάτῃ ὥρᾳ ἐβόησεν ὁ Ἰησοῦς φωνῇ μεγάλῃ Ἐλωῒ λεμὰ* σαβαχθάνι*; ὅ ἐστιν μεθερμηνευόμενον Ὁ Θεός μου εἰς τί ἐγκατέλιπές με;

kai tē enatē hōra eboēsen ho Iēsous phōnē megalē Elōi lema sabachthani ho estin methermēneuomenon ho Theos mou eis ti enkatelipes me

And the ninth hour cried out - Jesus in a voice loud Eloi lema sabachthani? which is translated - God of Me for Which have You forsaken Me?”

15:35

Καί τινες τῶν παρεστηκότων ἀκούσαντες ἔλεγον Ἴδε Ἠλίαν φωνεῖ

kai tines tōn parestēkotōn akousantes elegon Ide Ēlian phōnei

And some of the standing by having heard [of it] were saying Behold Elijah He calls

15:36

Δραμὼν δέ τις καὶ γεμίσας σπόγγον ὄξους περιθεὶς καλάμῳ ἐπότιζεν αὐτόν λέγων Ἄφετε ἴδωμεν εἰ ἔρχεται Ἠλίας καθελεῖν

dramōn de tis kai gemisas spongon oxous peritheis kalamō epotizen auton legōn Aphete idōmen ei erchetai Ēlias kathelein

Having run now anyone And having filled a sponge with vinegar having put [it] on with a reed gave to drink Him saying Permit we might see if comes Elijah to take down

15:37

Ὁ δὲ Ἰησοῦς ἀφεὶς φωνὴν μεγάλην ἐξέπνευσεν

ho de Iēsous apheis phōnēn megalēn exepneusen

- however Jesus having left a cry loud breathed His last

15:38

Καὶ τὸ καταπέτασμα τοῦ ναοῦ ἐσχίσθη εἰς δύο ἀπ’ ἄνωθεν ἕως κάτω

kai to katapetasma tou naou eschisthē eis dyo ap’ anōthen heōs katō

And the veil of the temple was torn for two from top until below

15:39

Ἰδὼν δὲ ὁ κεντυρίων παρεστηκὼς ἐξ ἐναντίας αὐτοῦ ὅτι οὕτως ἐξέπνευσεν εἶπεν Ἀληθῶς οὗτος ἄνθρωπος Υἱὸς Θεοῦ ἦν

idōn de ho kentyriōn parestēkōs ex enantias autou hoti houtōs exepneusen eipen Alēthōs houtos anthrōpos Huios Theou ēn

Having seen however - centurion standing out of opposite of of Him’” - thus breathed His last said Truly this [man] a man Son of God was

15:40

Ἦσαν δὲ καὶ γυναῖκες ἀπὸ μακρόθεν θεωροῦσαι ἐν αἷς Μαρία ἡ Μαγδαληνὴ Ἰακώβου τοῦ μικροῦ Ἰωσῆτος μήτηρ Σαλώμη

ēsan de kai gynaikes apo makrothen theōrousai en hais Maria hē Magdalēnē Iakōbou tou mikrou Iōsētos mētēr Salōmē

Were however And women from afar looking on in whom Mary the Magdalene James of the least Joseph mother Salome

15:41

αἳ ὅτε ἦν ἐν τῇ Γαλιλαίᾳ ἠκολούθουν αὐτῷ καὶ διηκόνουν ἄλλαι πολλαὶ αἱ συναναβᾶσαι εἰς Ἱεροσόλυμα

hai hote ēn en tē Galilaia ēkolouthoun autō kai diēkonoun allai pollai hai synanabasai eis Hierosolyma

who when was in the Galilee they were following to Him And were ministering other many the having come up with for Jerusalem

15:42

Καὶ ἤδη ὀψίας γενομένης ἐπεὶ ἦν Παρασκευή ὅ ἐστιν προσάββατον

kai ēdē opsias genomenēs epei ēn Paraskeuē ho estin prosabbaton

And already evening having come since was Preparation which is the day before Sabbath

15:43

ἐλθὼν Ἰωσὴφ ὁ ἀπὸ Ἁριμαθαίας εὐσχήμων βουλευτής ὃς καὶ αὐτὸς ἦν προσδεχόμενος τὴν βασιλείαν τοῦ Θεοῦ τολμήσας εἰσῆλθεν πρὸς τὸν Πιλᾶτον ᾐτήσατο τὸ σῶμα Ἰησοῦ

elthōn Iōsēph ho apo Harimathaias euschēmōn bouleutēs hos kai autos ēn prosdechomenos tēn basileian tou Theou tolmēsas eisēlthen pros ton Pilaton ētēsato to sōma Iēsou

having come Joseph - from Arimathea a prominent Council member who And He was waiting for the kingdom of the of God having boldness he entered to the Pilate she asked the body of Jesus

15:44

Ὁ δὲ Πιλᾶτος ἐθαύμασεν εἰ ἤδη τέθνηκεν καὶ προσκαλεσάμενος τὸν κεντυρίωνα ἐπηρώτησεν αὐτὸν πάλαι ἀπέθανεν

ho de Pilatos ethaumasen ei ēdē tethnēken kai proskalesamenos ton kentyriōna epērōtēsen auton palai apethanen

- however Pilate wondered if already He were dead And having called to [Him] the centurion He asked him already is dead

15:45

καὶ γνοὺς ἀπὸ τοῦ κεντυρίωνος ἐδωρήσατο τὸ πτῶμα τῷ Ἰωσήφ

kai gnous apo tou kentyriōnos edōrēsato to ptōma tō Iōsēph

And having known [it] from of the centurion He granted the body - to Joseph

15:46

Καὶ ἀγοράσας σινδόνα καθελὼν αὐτὸν ἐνείλησεν τῇ σινδόνι καὶ ἔθηκεν* ἐν μνημείῳ* ὃ ἦν λελατομημένον ἐκ πέτρας προσεκύλισεν λίθον ἐπὶ τὴν θύραν τοῦ μνημείου

kai agorasas sindona kathelōn auton eneilēsen tē sindoni kai ethēken en mnēmeiō ho ēn lelatomēmenon ek petras prosekylisen lithon epi tēn thyran tou mnēmeiou

And having bought a linen cloth having taken down him he wrapped [Him] in the linen cloth And laid in a tomb that which was cut from a rock he rolled stone at the door of the tomb

15:47

ἡ δὲ Μαρία Μαγδαληνὴ καὶ Ἰωσῆτος ἐθεώρουν ποῦ τέθειται

hē de Maria Magdalēnē kai Iōsētos etheōroun pou tetheitai

the however Mary Magdalene And Joseph they beheld where He was laid
