Luke 15 | Luke 17

16:1

Ἔλεγεν δὲ καὶ πρὸς τοὺς μαθητάς Ἄνθρωπός τις ἦν πλούσιος ὃς εἶχεν οἰκονόμον οὗτος διεβλήθη αὐτῷ ὡς διασκορπίζων τὰ ὑπάρχοντα αὐτοῦ

elegen de kai pros tous mathētas Anthrōpos tis ēn plousios hos eichen oikonomon houtos dieblēthē autō hōs diaskorpizōn ta hyparchonta autou

He was saying however And to the disciples A man anyone was a rich man who it had a manager this [man] was accused to Him as is wasting the possessing of Him’”

16:2

καὶ φωνήσας αὐτὸν εἶπεν αὐτῷ Τί τοῦτο ἀκούω περὶ σοῦ; ἀπόδος τὸν λόγον τῆς οἰκονομίας σου οὐ γὰρ δύνῃ ἔτι οἰκονομεῖν

kai phōnēsas auton eipen autō Ti touto akouō peri sou apodos ton logon tēs oikonomias sou ou gar dynē eti oikonomein

And having called him said to Him What this I hear around of you? pay the matter - stewardship of You not for You are able [to do] still to manage

16:3

Εἶπεν δὲ ἐν ἑαυτῷ ὁ οἰκονόμος Τί ποιήσω ὅτι κύριός μου ἀφαιρεῖται τὴν οἰκονομίαν ἀπ’ ἐμοῦ; σκάπτειν οὐκ ἰσχύω ἐπαιτεῖν αἰσχύνομαι

Eipen de en heautō ho oikonomos Ti poiēsō hoti kyrios mou aphaireitai tēn oikonomian ap’ emou skaptein ouk ischyō epaitein aischynomai

Said however in Himself - manager What I will make - Lord of Me is taking away the management from Me? To dig not I am able to beg I am ashamed

16:4

ἔγνων τί ποιήσω ἵνα ὅταν μετασταθῶ ἐκ τῆς οἰκονομίας δέξωνταί με εἰς τοὺς οἴκους ἑαυτῶν

egnōn ti poiēsō hina hotan metastathō ek tēs oikonomias dexōntai me eis tous oikous heautōn

knew I Which I will make so that when I shall have been removed from - stewardship they might receive me for the homes them

16:5

Καὶ προσκαλεσάμενος ἕνα ἕκαστον τῶν χρεοφειλετῶν τοῦ κυρίου ἑαυτοῦ ἔλεγεν τῷ πρώτῳ Πόσον ὀφείλεις κυρίῳ μου;

kai proskalesamenos hena hekaston tōn chreopheiletōn tou kyriou heautou elegen tō prōtō Poson opheileis kyriō mou

And having called to [Him] one Each of the debtors of the of [the] Lord itself He said - first How much you owe’ master of Me?

16:6

Ὁ δὲ εἶπεν Ἑκατὸν βάτους ἐλαίου αὐτῷ Δέξαι σου τὰ γράμματα καὶ καθίσας ταχέως γράψον πεντήκοντα

ho de eipen Hekaton batous elaiou autō Dexai sou ta grammata kai kathisas tacheōs grapson pentēkonta

- however said A hundred baths oil to Him Take of You the bill And having sat down quickly write fifties

16:7

Ἔπειτα ἑτέρῳ εἶπεν Σὺ δὲ πόσον ὀφείλεις; Ὁ Ἑκατὸν κόρους σίτου Λέγει αὐτῷ Δέξαι σου τὰ γράμματα καὶ γράψον ὀγδοήκοντα

epeita heterō eipen Sy de poson opheileis ho Hekaton korous sitou legei autō Dexai sou ta grammata kai grapson ogdoēkonta

Then other said You however how great owe? - A hundred cors wheat He says to Him Take of You the bill And write eighty [and]

16:8

Καὶ ἐπῄνεσεν ὁ κύριος τὸν οἰκονόμον τῆς ἀδικίας ὅτι φρονίμως ἐποίησεν οἱ υἱοὶ τοῦ αἰῶνος τούτου φρονιμώτεροι ὑπὲρ τοὺς υἱοὺς φωτὸς εἰς τὴν γενεὰν ἑαυτῶν εἰσιν

kai epēnesen ho kyrios ton oikonomon tēs adikias hoti phronimōs epoiēsen hoi huioi tou aiōnos toutou phronimōteroi hyper tous huious phōtos eis tēn genean heautōn eisin

And praised - master the a manager - of unrighteousness - shrewdly did - sons of the of this age this more shrewd for the sons light for the generation them are

16:9

Καὶ ἐγὼ ὑμῖν λέγω ἑαυτοῖς ποιήσατε φίλους ἐκ τοῦ μαμωνᾶ τῆς ἀδικίας ἵνα ὅταν ἐκλίπῃ δέξωνται ὑμᾶς εἰς τὰς αἰωνίους σκηνάς

kai egō hymin legō heautois poiēsate philous ek tou mamōna tēs adikias hina hotan eklipē dexōntai hymas eis tas aiōnious skēnas

And I to you I say themselves Produce friends from of the wealth - of unrighteousness so that when it fails they might receive you for the eternal tabernacles:

16:10

Ὁ πιστὸς ἐν ἐλαχίστῳ καὶ πολλῷ πιστός ἐστιν ὁ ἄδικος ἄδικός

ho pistos en elachistō kai pollō pistos estin ho adikos adikos

- faithful in very little And much faithful is - unrighteous unrighteous

16:11

εἰ οὖν ἐν τῷ ἀδίκῳ μαμωνᾷ πιστοὶ οὐκ ἐγένεσθε τὸ ἀληθινὸν τίς ὑμῖν πιστεύσει;

ei oun en tō adikō mamōna pistoi ouk egenesthe to alēthinon tis hymin pisteusei

if therefore in - unrighteous money faithful not you have been the true [riches] who to you will entrust?

16:12

καὶ εἰ ἐν τῷ ἀλλοτρίῳ πιστοὶ οὐκ ἐγένεσθε τὸ ὑμέτερον* τίς δώσει ⇔ ὑμῖν;

kai ei en tō allotriō pistoi ouk egenesthe to hymeteron tis dōsei hymin

And if in - of another faithful not you have been the [is] yours who will give for you?

16:13

Οὐδεὶς οἰκέτης δύναται δυσὶ κυρίοις δουλεύειν ἢ γὰρ τὸν ἕνα μισήσει καὶ ἕτερον ἀγαπήσει ἑνὸς ἀνθέξεται τοῦ ἑτέρου καταφρονήσει οὐ δύνασθε Θεῷ μαμωνᾷ

Oudeis oiketēs dynatai dysi kyriois douleuein ē gar ton hena misēsei kai heteron agapēsei henos anthexetai tou heterou kataphronēsei ou dynasthe Theō mamōna

No one servant is able two masters to serve or for the one he will hate And other he will love [the] one he will be devoted to of the other he will despise not Are you able to God money

16:14

Ἤκουον δὲ ταῦτα πάντα οἱ Φαρισαῖοι φιλάργυροι ὑπάρχοντες καὶ ἐξεμυκτήριζον αὐτόν

Ēkouon de tauta panta hoi Pharisaioi philargyroi hyparchontes kai exemyktērizon auton

Were listening to however these things all - Pharisees lovers of money living And they were ridiculing Him

16:15

καὶ εἶπεν αὐτοῖς Ὑμεῖς ἐστε οἱ δικαιοῦντες ἑαυτοὺς ἐνώπιον τῶν ἀνθρώπων ὁ δὲ Θεὸς γινώσκει τὰς καρδίας ὑμῶν ὅτι τὸ ἐν ἀνθρώποις ὑψηλὸν βδέλυγμα τοῦ Θεοῦ

kai eipen autois Hymeis este hoi dikaiountes heautous enōpion tōn anthrōpōn ho de Theos ginōskei tas kardias hymōn hoti to en anthrōpois hypsēlon bdelygma tou Theou

And said to them You are you? - justifying themselves before of the of men - however God he is aware the heart you - the in men high abomination of the of God

16:16

Ὁ νόμος καὶ οἱ προφῆται μέχρι Ἰωάννου ἀπὸ τότε ἡ βασιλεία τοῦ Θεοῦ εὐαγγελίζεται πᾶς εἰς αὐτὴν βιάζεται

ho nomos kai hoi prophētai mechri Iōannou apo tote hē basileia tou Theou euangelizetai pas eis autēn biazetai

16:17

εὐκοπώτερον δέ ἐστιν τὸν οὐρανὸν καὶ τὴν γῆν παρελθεῖν ἢ τοῦ νόμου μίαν κεραίαν πεσεῖν

eukopōteron de estin ton ouranon kai tēn gēn parelthein ē tou nomou mian keraian pesein

16:18

Πᾶς ὁ ἀπολύων τὴν γυναῖκα αὐτοῦ καὶ γαμῶν ἑτέραν μοιχεύει ἀπολελυμένην ἀπὸ ἀνδρὸς

Pas ho apolyōn tēn gynaika autou kai gamōn heteran moicheuei apolelymenēn apo andros

16:19

Ἄνθρωπος δέ τις ἦν πλούσιος καὶ ἐνεδιδύσκετο πορφύραν βύσσον εὐφραινόμενος καθ’ ἡμέραν λαμπρῶς

Anthrōpos de tis ēn plousios kai enedidysketo porphyran bysson euphrainomenos kath’ hēmeran lamprōs

A man now anyone was a rich man And he was clothed in purple fine linen making good cheer against day in splendor

16:20

πτωχὸς δέ τις ὀνόματι Λάζαρος ἐβέβλητο πρὸς τὸν πυλῶνα αὐτοῦ εἱλκωμένος

ptōchos de tis onomati Lazaros ebeblēto pros ton pylōna autou heilkōmenos

A poor man now anyone named Lazarus was laid to the porch of Him’” being full of sores

16:21

καὶ ἐπιθυμῶν χορτασθῆναι ἀπὸ τῶν πιπτόντων τῆς τραπέζης τοῦ πλουσίου ἀλλὰ οἱ κύνες ἐρχόμενοι ἐπέλειχον τὰ ἕλκη αὐτοῦ

kai epithymōn chortasthēnai apo tōn piptontōn tēs trapezēs tou plousiou alla hoi kynes erchomenoi epeleichon ta helkē autou

And desiring to be satisfied from of the falling - table of the rich But - dogs coming were licking the sores of Him’”

16:22

Ἐγένετο δὲ ἀποθανεῖν τὸν πτωχὸν καὶ ἀπενεχθῆναι αὐτὸν ὑπὸ τῶν ἀγγέλων εἰς κόλπον Ἀβραάμ ἀπέθανεν ὁ πλούσιος ἐτάφη

egeneto de apothanein ton ptōchon kai apenechthēnai auton hypo tōn angelōn eis kolpon Abraam apethanen ho plousios etaphē

Came however to die the poor man And was carried away him by of the angels for lap of Abraham: is dead - a rich man was buried

16:23

καὶ ἐν τῷ ᾅδῃ ἐπάρας τοὺς ὀφθαλμοὺς αὐτοῦ ὑπάρχων βασάνοις ὁρᾷ Ἀβραὰμ ἀπὸ μακρόθεν Λάζαρον τοῖς κόλποις

kai en tō hadē eparas tous ophthalmous autou hyparchōn basanois hora Abraam apo makrothen Lazaron tois kolpois

And in - Hades having lifted up the eyes of Him’” being pains he sees of Abraham from afar Lazarus on the bosom

16:24

Καὶ αὐτὸς φωνήσας εἶπεν Πάτερ Ἀβραάμ ἐλέησόν με καὶ πέμψον Λάζαρον ἵνα βάψῃ τὸ ἄκρον τοῦ δακτύλου αὐτοῦ ὕδατος καταψύξῃ τὴν γλῶσσάν μου ὅτι ὀδυνῶμαι ἐν τῇ φλογὶ ταύτῃ

kai autos phōnēsas eipen Pater Abraam eleēson me kai pempson Lazaron hina bapsē to akron tou daktylou autou hydatos katapsyxē tēn glōssan mou hoti odynōmai en tē phlogi tautē

And He having called said Father of Abraham: have mercy on me And send Lazarus so that he might dip the tip of the finger of Him’” water cool the tongue of Me - I am suffering in the flame this

16:25

Εἶπεν δὲ Ἀβραάμ Τέκνον μνήσθητι ὅτι ἀπέλαβες τὰ ἀγαθά σου ἐν τῇ ζωῇ καὶ Λάζαρος ὁμοίως κακά νῦν ὧδε παρακαλεῖται σὺ ὀδυνᾶσαι

Eipen de Abraam Teknon mnēsthēti hoti apelabes ta agatha sou en tē zōē kai Lazaros homoiōs kaka nyn hōde parakaleitai sy odynasai

Said however of Abraham: Son remember - you did fully receive the good things of You in the lifetime And Lazarus likewise evil now here he is comforted yourself are suffering

16:26

καὶ ἐν πᾶσι τούτοις μεταξὺ ἡμῶν ὑμῶν χάσμα μέγα ἐστήρικται ὅπως οἱ θέλοντες διαβῆναι ἔνθεν πρὸς ὑμᾶς μὴ δύνωνται μηδὲ ἐκεῖθεν ἡμᾶς διαπερῶσιν

kai en pasi toutois metaxy hēmōn hymōn chasma mega estēriktai hopōs hoi thelontes diabēnai enthen pros hymas mē dynōntai mēde ekeithen hēmas diaperōsin

And in all these things between us you a chasm large has been fixed how - desiring to pass from here to you not are able not even from there us? can they pass

16:27

Εἶπεν δέ Ἐρωτῶ σε οὖν πάτερ ἵνα πέμψῃς αὐτὸν εἰς τὸν οἶκον τοῦ πατρός μου

Eipen de Erōtō se oun pater hina pempsēs auton eis ton oikon tou patros mou

Said now I implore You therefore father so that you would send him for the house of the father of Me

16:28

ἔχω γὰρ πέντε ἀδελφούς ὅπως διαμαρτύρηται αὐτοῖς ἵνα μὴ καὶ αὐτοὶ ἔλθωσιν εἰς τὸν τόπον τοῦτον τῆς βασάνου

echō gar pente adelphous hopōs diamartyrētai autois hina mē kai autoi elthōsin eis ton topon touton tēs basanou

have for five brothers how he might warn to them so that not And yourselves might come for the a place this - of torment

16:29

Λέγει δὲ Ἀβραάμ Ἔχουσι Μωϋσέα καὶ τοὺς προφήτας ἀκουσάτωσαν αὐτῶν

legei de Abraam Echousi Mōusea kai tous prophētas akousatōsan autōn

He says however of Abraham: They have Moses And the prophets let them hear of them

16:30

Ὁ δὲ εἶπεν Οὐχί πάτερ Ἀβραάμ ἀλλ’ ἐάν τις ἀπὸ νεκρῶν πορευθῇ πρὸς αὐτοὺς μετανοήσουσιν

ho de eipen Ouchi pater Abraam all’ ean tis apo nekrōn poreuthē pros autous metanoēsousin

- however said No father of Abraham: but if anyone from [the] dead should go to they they will repent

16:31

Εἶπεν δὲ αὐτῷ Εἰ Μωϋσέως καὶ τῶν προφητῶν οὐκ ἀκούουσιν οὐδ’* ἐάν τις ἐκ νεκρῶν ἀναστῇ πεισθήσονται

Eipen de autō Ei Mōuseōs kai tōn prophētōn ouk akouousin oud’ ean tis ek nekrōn anastē peisthēsontai

Said however to Him If of Moses And of the prophets not hear not even if anyone from [the] dead had risen will they be persuaded
