Luke 11 | Luke 13

12:1

Ἐν οἷς ἐπισυναχθεισῶν τῶν μυριάδων τοῦ ὄχλου ὥστε καταπατεῖν ἀλλήλους ἤρξατο λέγειν πρὸς τοὺς μαθητὰς αὐτοῦ πρῶτον Προσέχετε ἑαυτοῖς ἀπὸ τῆς ζύμης ἥτις ἐστὶν ὑπόκρισις Φαρισαίων

en hois episynachtheisōn tōn myriadōn tou ochlou hōste katapatein allēlous ērxato legein pros tous mathētas autou prōton Prosechete heautois apo tēs zymēs hētis estin hypokrisis Pharisaiōn

By for whom having been gathered together of the myriads of the crowd so as to trample upon each other he began to say to the disciples of Him’” first Beware themselves from - leaven which is hypocrisy Pharisees

12:2

οὐδὲν δὲ συγκεκαλυμμένον ἐστὶν ὃ οὐκ ἀποκαλυφθήσεται καὶ κρυπτὸν οὐ γνωσθήσεται

ouden de synkekalymmenon estin ho ouk apokalyphthēsetai kai krypton ou gnōsthēsetai

anything however concealed up is that which not will be revealed And hidden not will be known

12:3

ἀνθ’ ὧν ὅσα ἐν τῇ σκοτίᾳ εἴπατε τῷ φωτὶ ἀκουσθήσεται καὶ ὃ πρὸς τὸ οὖς ἐλαλήσατε τοῖς ταμείοις κηρυχθήσεται ἐπὶ τῶν δωμάτων

anth’ hōn hosa en tē skotia eipate tō phōti akousthēsetai kai ho pros to ous elalēsate tois tameiois kērychthēsetai epi tōn dōmatōn

in return for of what things how much in the darkness say - light will be heard And that which to the ear you have spoken on the inner rooms there will be proclaimed at of the housetops

12:4

Λέγω δὲ ὑμῖν τοῖς φίλοις μου μὴ φοβηθῆτε ἀπὸ τῶν ἀποκτεινόντων* τὸ σῶμα καὶ μετὰ ταῦτα ἐχόντων περισσότερόν τι ποιῆσαι

Legō de hymin tois philois mou mē phobēthēte apo tōn apokteinontōn to sōma kai meta tauta echontōn perissoteron ti poiēsai

I say however to you on the friends of Me not you should fear from of the killing the body And with these things having more important anything to do

12:5

ὑποδείξω δὲ ὑμῖν τίνα φοβηθῆτε φοβήθητε τὸν μετὰ τὸ ἀποκτεῖναι ἔχοντα ἐξουσίαν ἐμβαλεῖν εἰς τὴν γέενναν ναί λέγω τοῦτον

hypodeixō de hymin tina phobēthēte phobēthēte ton meta to apokteinai echonta exousian embalein eis tēn geennan nai legō touton

I will show however to you whom you should fear Fear the with the to kill having authority to cast for the hell ‘Yes I say this

12:6

Οὐχὶ πέντε στρουθία πωλοῦνται ἀσσαρίων δύο; καὶ ἓν ἐξ αὐτῶν οὐκ ἔστιν ἐπιλελησμένον ἐνώπιον τοῦ Θεοῦ

ouchi pente strouthia pōlountai assariōn dyo kai hen ex autōn ouk estin epilelēsmenon enōpion tou Theou

Not five sparrows are sold for assarion two? And one out of of them not is forgotten before of the of God

12:7

ἀλλὰ καὶ αἱ τρίχες τῆς κεφαλῆς ὑμῶν πᾶσαι ἠρίθμηνται μὴ φοβεῖσθε πολλῶν στρουθίων διαφέρετε

alla kai hai triches tēs kephalēs hymōn pasai ērithmēntai mē phobeisthe pollōn strouthiōn diapherete

But And the hairs - head you all have been numbered not fear many sparrows are more valuable

12:8

Λέγω δὲ ὑμῖν πᾶς ὃς ἂν ὁμολογήσῃ ἐν ἐμοὶ ἔμπροσθεν τῶν ἀνθρώπων καὶ ὁ Υἱὸς τοῦ ἀνθρώπου ὁμολογήσει αὐτῷ ἀγγέλων Θεοῦ

Legō de hymin pas hos an homologēsē en emoi emprosthen tōn anthrōpōn kai ho Huios tou anthrōpou homologēsei autō angelōn Theou

I say however to you all who - will confess in to me before of the of men And - Son of the of Man will confess to Him angels of God

12:9

ὁ δὲ ἀρνησάμενός με ἐνώπιον τῶν ἀνθρώπων ἀπαρνηθήσεται ἀγγέλων τοῦ Θεοῦ

ho de arnēsamenos me enōpion tōn anthrōpōn aparnēthēsetai angelōn tou Theou

- however having denied me before of the of men will be denied angels of the of God

12:10

καὶ πᾶς ὃς ἐρεῖ λόγον εἰς τὸν Υἱὸν τοῦ ἀνθρώπου ἀφεθήσεται αὐτῷ τῷ δὲ τὸ Ἅγιον Πνεῦμα βλασφημήσαντι οὐκ

kai pas hos erei logon eis ton Huion tou anthrōpou aphethēsetai autō tō de to Hagion Pneuma blasphēmēsanti ouk

And all who He will say matter for the Son of the of Man will be forgiven to Him - however the Holy Spirit having blasphemed not

12:11

Ὅταν δὲ εἰσφέρωσιν ὑμᾶς ἐπὶ τὰς συναγωγὰς καὶ ἀρχὰς ἐξουσίας μὴ μεριμνήσητε πῶς ἢ τί ἀπολογήσησθε εἴπητε

Hotan de eispherōsin hymas epi tas synagōgas kai archas exousias mē merimnēsēte pōs ē ti apologēsēsthe eipēte

When however they bring you at the synagogues And rulers authorities not be anxious How or Which you shall reply in defense tell

12:12

τὸ γὰρ Ἅγιον Πνεῦμα διδάξει ὑμᾶς ἐν αὐτῇ τῇ ὥρᾳ ἃ δεῖ εἰπεῖν

to gar Hagion Pneuma didaxei hymas en autē tē hōra ha dei eipein

the for Holy Spirit will teach you in on her the hour what it is necessary for to say

12:13

Εἶπεν δέ τις ἐκ τοῦ ὄχλου αὐτῷ Διδάσκαλε εἰπὲ τῷ ἀδελφῷ μου μερίσασθαι μετ’ ἐμοῦ τὴν κληρονομίαν

Eipen de tis ek tou ochlou autō Didaskale eipe tō adelphō mou merisasthai met’ emou tēn klēronomian

Said now anyone from of the crowd to Him Teacher speak - brother of Me to divide with Me the inheritance

12:14

Ὁ δὲ εἶπεν αὐτῷ Ἄνθρωπε τίς με κατέστησεν κριτὴν ἢ μεριστὴν ἐφ’ ὑμᾶς;

ho de eipen autō Anthrōpe tis me katestēsen kritēn ē meristēn eph’ hymas

- however said to Him Man who me has set a judge or partitioner against you?

12:15

εἶπεν δὲ πρὸς αὐτούς Ὁρᾶτε καὶ φυλάσσεσθε ἀπὸ πάσης πλεονεξίας ὅτι οὐκ ἐν τῷ περισσεύειν τινὶ ἡ ζωὴ αὐτοῦ ἐστιν ἐκ τῶν ὑπαρχόντων αὐτῷ

eipen de pros autous Horate kai phylassesthe apo pasēs pleonexias hoti ouk en tō perisseuein tini hē zōē autou estin ek tōn hyparchontōn autō

said however to them Watch out And keep yourselves from of all covetousness - not in - abundance to anyone the life of Him’” is from of the means to Him

12:16

Εἶπεν δὲ παραβολὴν πρὸς αὐτοὺς λέγων Ἀνθρώπου τινὸς πλουσίου εὐφόρησεν ἡ χώρα

Eipen de parabolēn pros autous legōn Anthrōpou tinos plousiou euphorēsen hē chōra

Said however parable to they saying Of a man certain rich brought forth abundantly the region

12:17

καὶ διελογίζετο ἐν ἑαυτῷ λέγων Τί ποιήσω ὅτι οὐκ ἔχω ποῦ συνάξω τοὺς καρπούς μου;

kai dielogizeto en heautō legōn Ti poiēsō hoti ouk echō pou synaxō tous karpous mou

And was pondering in Himself saying What I will make - not have where I will store up the fruits of Me?

12:18

καὶ εἶπεν Τοῦτο ποιήσω καθελῶ μου τὰς ἀποθήκας μείζονας οἰκοδομήσω συνάξω ἐκεῖ πάντα τὸν σῖτον τὰ ἀγαθά

kai eipen Touto poiēsō kathelō mou tas apothēkas meizonas oikodomēsō synaxō ekei panta ton siton ta agatha

And said This I will make I will tear down of Me the barns— greater I will build I will store up there all the wheat the good things

12:19

καὶ ἐρῶ τῇ ψυχῇ μου Ψυχή ἔχεις πολλὰ ἀγαθὰ κείμενα εἰς ἔτη πολλά ἀναπαύου φάγε πίε εὐφραίνου

kai erō tē psychē mou Psychē echeis polla agatha keimena eis etē polla anapauou phage pie euphrainou

And I will tell the life of Me Soul you have many good laid up for years many things take your rest eat drink be merry

12:20

Εἶπεν δὲ αὐτῷ ὁ Θεός Ἄφρων ταύτῃ τῇ νυκτὶ τὴν ψυχήν σου ἀπαιτοῦσιν ἀπὸ σοῦ ἃ ἡτοίμασας τίνι ἔσται;

Eipen de autō ho Theos Aphrōn tautē tē nykti tēn psychēn sou apaitousin apo sou ha hētoimasas tini estai

Said however to Him - God Fool this the night the soul of You is required from you what You have prepared what will be?

12:21

Οὕτως ὁ θησαυρίζων ἑαυτῷ* καὶ μὴ εἰς Θεὸν πλουτῶν

Houtōs ho thēsaurizōn heautō kai mē eis Theon ploutōn

Thus - treasuring up for himself And not for God being rich

12:22

Εἶπεν δὲ πρὸς τοὺς μαθητὰς αὐτοῦ Διὰ τοῦτο λέγω ὑμῖν μὴ μεριμνᾶτε τῇ ψυχῇ τί φάγητε μηδὲ τῷ σώματι (ὑμῶν) ἐνδύσησθε

Eipen de pros tous mathētas autou Dia touto legō hymin mē merimnate tē psychē ti phagēte mēde tō sōmati hymōn endysēsthe

Said however to the disciples of Him’” Because of this I say to you not be anxious about the life Which you should eat not even - body of you put on

12:23

ἡ γὰρ ψυχὴ πλεῖόν ἐστιν τῆς τροφῆς καὶ τὸ σῶμα τοῦ ἐνδύματος

hē gar psychē pleion estin tēs trophēs kai to sōma tou endymatos

the for life more is - food And the body of the clothing

12:24

κατανοήσατε τοὺς κόρακας ὅτι οὐ* σπείρουσιν οὐδὲ* θερίζουσιν οἷς οὐκ ἔστιν ταμεῖον οὐδὲ ἀποθήκη καὶ ὁ Θεὸς τρέφει αὐτούς πόσῳ μᾶλλον ὑμεῖς διαφέρετε τῶν πετεινῶν

katanoēsate tous korakas hoti ou speirousin oude therizousin hois ouk estin tameion oude apothēkē kai ho Theos trephei autous posō mallon hymeis diapherete tōn peteinōn

Consider the ravens - not they sow nor do they reap for whom not is a storehouse nor barn— And - God feeds them how much rather you are more valuable of the birds

12:25

τίς δὲ ἐξ ὑμῶν μεριμνῶν δύναται ἐπὶ τὴν ἡλικίαν αὐτοῦ προσθεῖναι πῆχυν;

tis de ex hymōn merimnōn dynatai epi tēn hēlikian autou prostheinai pēchyn

who however out of you being anxious is able at the lifespan of Him’” to add one hour?

12:26

εἰ οὖν οὐδὲ ἐλάχιστον δύνασθε τί περὶ τῶν λοιπῶν μεριμνᾶτε;

ei oun oude elachiston dynasthe ti peri tōn loipōn merimnate

if therefore nor [the] least Are you able Which around of the rest are you anxious?

12:27

Κατανοήσατε τὰ κρίνα πῶς ‹αὐξάνει οὐ κοπιᾷ οὐδὲ νήθει› λέγω δὲ ὑμῖν Σολομὼν ἐν πάσῃ τῇ δόξῃ αὐτοῦ περιεβάλετο ὡς ἓν τούτων

katanoēsate ta krina pōs auxanei ou kopia oude nēthei legō de hymin Solomōn en pasē tē doxē autou periebaleto hōs hen toutōn

Consider the lilies How they grow: not do they labor nor do they spin I say however to you Solomon in to all the glory of Him’” was adorned as one these

12:28

εἰ δὲ ἐν ἀγρῷ τὸν χόρτον ὄντα σήμερον καὶ αὔριον εἰς κλίβανον βαλλόμενον ὁ Θεὸς οὕτως ἀμφιέζει πόσῳ μᾶλλον ὑμᾶς ὀλιγόπιστοι

ei de en agrō ton chorton onta sēmeron kai aurion eis klibanon ballomenon ho Theos houtōs amphiezei posō mallon hymas oligopistoi

if however in field the a plant being [here] now And tomorrow for the furnace being thrown - God thus clothes how much rather you O [you] of little faith

12:29

Καὶ ὑμεῖς μὴ ζητεῖτε τί φάγητε καὶ πίητε μετεωρίζεσθε

kai hymeis mē zēteite ti phagēte kai piēte meteōrizesthe

And you not you seek Which you should eat And you should drink be in suspense

12:30

ταῦτα γὰρ πάντα τὰ ἔθνη τοῦ κόσμου ἐπιζητοῦσιν ὑμῶν δὲ ὁ Πατὴρ οἶδεν ὅτι χρῄζετε τούτων

tauta gar panta ta ethnē tou kosmou epizētousin hymōn de ho Patēr oiden hoti chrēzete toutōn

these things for all the nations of the world seek after you however - Father knows - you have need these

12:31

πλὴν ζητεῖτε τὴν βασιλείαν αὐτοῦ καὶ ταῦτα προστεθήσεται ὑμῖν

plēn zēteite tēn basileian autou kai tauta prostethēsetai hymin

besides you seek the kingdom of Him’” And these things more will be added to you

12:32

Μὴ φοβοῦ τὸ μικρὸν ποίμνιον ὅτι εὐδόκησεν ὁ Πατὴρ ὑμῶν δοῦναι ὑμῖν τὴν βασιλείαν

Mē phobou to mikron poimnion hoti eudokēsen ho Patēr hymōn dounai hymin tēn basileian

Not fear the a little flock - has found delight - Father you to give to you the kingdom

12:33

Πωλήσατε τὰ ὑπάρχοντα ὑμῶν καὶ δότε ἐλεημοσύνην ποιήσατε ἑαυτοῖς βαλλάντια μὴ παλαιούμενα θησαυρὸν ἀνέκλειπτον ἐν τοῖς οὐρανοῖς ὅπου κλέπτης οὐκ ἐγγίζει οὐδὲ σὴς διαφθείρει

Pōlēsate ta hyparchonta hymōn kai dote eleēmosynēn poiēsate heautois ballantia mē palaioumena thēsauron anekleipton en tois ouranois hopou kleptēs ouk engizei oude sēs diaphtheirei

Sell the possessing you And give acts of charity Produce themselves purses not growing old treasure unfailing in on the heavens where thief not does draw near nor moth destroy

12:34

ὅπου γάρ ἐστιν ὁ θησαυρὸς ὑμῶν ἐκεῖ καὶ ἡ καρδία ἔσται

hopou gar estin ho thēsauros hymōn ekei kai hē kardia estai

where for is - treasure you there And the heart it will be

12:35

Ἔστωσαν ὑμῶν αἱ ὀσφύες περιεζωσμέναι καὶ οἱ λύχνοι καιόμενοι

Estōsan hymōn hai osphyes periezōsmenai kai hoi lychnoi kaiomenoi

Let be you the waist girded about And - lamps burning

12:36

καὶ ὑμεῖς ὅμοιοι ἀνθρώποις προσδεχομένοις τὸν κύριον ἑαυτῶν πότε ἀναλύσῃ ἐκ τῶν γάμων ἵνα ἐλθόντος κρούσαντος εὐθέως ἀνοίξωσιν αὐτῷ

kai hymeis homoioi anthrōpois prosdechomenois ton kyrion heautōn pote analysē ek tōn gamōn hina elthontos krousantos eutheōs anoixōsin autō

And you like men waiting for the master them when he shall return from of the wedding feasts so that having come having knocked immediately they might open to Him

12:37

μακάριοι οἱ δοῦλοι ἐκεῖνοι οὓς ἐλθὼν ὁ κύριος εὑρήσει γρηγοροῦντας ἀμὴν λέγω ὑμῖν ὅτι περιζώσεται καὶ ἀνακλινεῖ αὐτοὺς παρελθὼν διακονήσει αὐτοῖς

makarioi hoi douloi ekeinoi hous elthōn ho kyrios heurēsei grēgorountas amēn legō hymin hoti perizōsetai kai anaklinei autous parelthōn diakonēsei autois

blessed - servants They which having come - master He will find watching Truly I say to you - he will gird himself And will make recline they having come up will serve to them

12:38

κἂν ἐν τῇ δευτέρᾳ τρίτῃ φυλακῇ ἔλθῃ καὶ εὕρῃ οὕτως μακάριοί εἰσιν ἐκεῖνοι

kan en tē deutera tritē phylakē elthē kai heurē houtōs makarioi eisin ekeinoi

even in the second third prison it should come And he should find thus blessed are They

12:39

Τοῦτο δὲ γινώσκετε ὅτι εἰ ᾔδει ὁ οἰκοδεσπότης ποίᾳ ὥρᾳ κλέπτης ἔρχεται (ἐγρηγόρησεν) οὐκ ἂν (καὶ) ἀφῆκεν διορυχθῆναι τὸν οἶκον αὐτοῦ

Touto de ginōskete hoti ei ēdei ho oikodespotēs poia hōra kleptēs erchetai egrēgorēsen ouk an kai aphēken diorychthēnai ton oikon autou

This however you know - if he knew - a master of a house what hour thief comes he would have watched not - and left to be broken into the house of Him’”

12:40

καὶ ὑμεῖς γίνεσθε ἕτοιμοι ὅτι ᾗ ὥρᾳ οὐ δοκεῖτε ὁ Υἱὸς τοῦ ἀνθρώπου ἔρχεται

kai hymeis ginesthe hetoimoi hoti hē hōra ou dokeite ho Huios tou anthrōpou erchetai

And you be ready - which hour not you expect - Son of the of Man comes

12:41

Εἶπεν δὲ ὁ Πέτρος Κύριε πρὸς ἡμᾶς τὴν παραβολὴν ταύτην λέγεις ἢ καὶ πάντας;

Eipen de ho Petros Kyrie pros hēmas tēn parabolēn tautēn legeis ē kai pantas

Said however - Peter Lord to us? the parable this? say You or And all?

12:42

Καὶ εἶπεν ὁ Κύριος Τίς ἄρα ἐστὶν πιστὸς οἰκονόμος φρόνιμος ὃν καταστήσει κύριος ἐπὶ τῆς θεραπείας αὐτοῦ τοῦ διδόναι ἐν καιρῷ τὸ σιτομέτριον;

kai eipen ho Kyrios Tis ara estin pistos oikonomos phronimos hon katastēsei kyrios epi tēs therapeias autou tou didonai en kairō to sitometrion

And said - Lord Who then is faithful manager wise which he will set master at - of healing of Him’” of the to give in time the measure of food?

12:43

μακάριος ὁ δοῦλος ἐκεῖνος ὃν ἐλθὼν κύριος αὐτοῦ εὑρήσει ποιοῦντα οὕτως

makarios ho doulos ekeinos hon elthōn kyrios autou heurēsei poiounta houtōs

Blessed [is] - slave that which having come master of Him’” He will find doing thus

12:44

ἀληθῶς λέγω ὑμῖν ὅτι ἐπὶ πᾶσιν τοῖς ὑπάρχουσιν αὐτοῦ καταστήσει αὐτόν

alēthōs legō hymin hoti epi pasin tois hyparchousin autou katastēsei auton

truthfully I say to you - at among all on the possessing of Him’” he will set Him

12:45

Ἐὰν δὲ εἴπῃ ὁ δοῦλος ἐκεῖνος ἐν τῇ καρδίᾳ αὐτοῦ Χρονίζει κύριός μου ἔρχεσθαι καὶ ἄρξηται τύπτειν τοὺς παῖδας τὰς παιδίσκας ἐσθίειν τε πίνειν μεθύσκεσθαι

Ean de eipē ho doulos ekeinos en tē kardia autou Chronizei kyrios mou erchesthai kai arxētai typtein tous paidas tas paidiskas esthiein te pinein methyskesthai

If however says - slave that in the heart of Him’” Delays Lord of Me to come And should begin to beat the boys the maid-servants to eat both to drink to get drunk

12:46

ἥξει ὁ κύριος τοῦ δούλου ἐκείνου ἐν ἡμέρᾳ ᾗ οὐ προσδοκᾷ καὶ ὥρᾳ γινώσκει διχοτομήσει αὐτὸν τὸ μέρος αὐτοῦ μετὰ τῶν ἀπίστων θήσει

hēxei ho kyrios tou doulou ekeinou en hēmera hē ou prosdoka kai hōra ginōskei dichotomēsei auton to meros autou meta tōn apistōn thēsei

will come - master of the servant that in days which not he does expect And hour he is aware will cut in pieces him the place of Him’” with of the unbelievers will appoint

12:47

Ἐκεῖνος δὲ ὁ δοῦλος γνοὺς τὸ θέλημα τοῦ κυρίου αὐτοῦ καὶ μὴ ἑτοιμάσας ἢ ποιήσας πρὸς δαρήσεται πολλάς

ekeinos de ho doulos gnous to thelēma tou kyriou autou kai mē hetoimasas ē poiēsas pros darēsetai pollas

That however - slave having known [it] the will of the of [the] Lord of Him’” And not having prepared or having done to will be beaten with many [blows]

12:48

ὁ δὲ μὴ γνοὺς ποιήσας ἄξια πληγῶν δαρήσεται ὀλίγας παντὶ ᾧ ἐδόθη πολύ πολὺ ζητηθήσεται παρ’ αὐτοῦ καὶ παρέθεντο περισσότερον αἰτήσουσιν αὐτόν

ho de mē gnous poiēsas axia plēgōn darēsetai oligas panti hō edothē poly poly zētēthēsetai par’ autou kai parethento perissoteron aitēsousin auton

- however not having known [it] having done [things] worthy of stripes will be beaten with few every which was given great great will be required belonging to of Him’” And has been committed abundantly will they ask of Him

12:49

Πῦρ ἦλθον βαλεῖν ἐπὶ τὴν γῆν καὶ τί θέλω εἰ ἤδη ἀνήφθη

Pyr ēlthon balein epi tēn gēn kai ti thelō ei ēdē anēphthē

Fire they came to cast [it] at the soil And Which will if already it be kindled

12:50

βάπτισμα δὲ ἔχω βαπτισθῆναι καὶ πῶς συνέχομαι ἕως ὅτου τελεσθῇ

baptisma de echō baptisthēnai kai pōs synechomai heōs hotou telesthē

[a] baptism however have to be baptized And How I am distressed until which it should be accomplished

12:51

Δοκεῖτε ὅτι εἰρήνην παρεγενόμην δοῦναι ἐν τῇ γῇ; οὐχί λέγω ὑμῖν ἀλλ’ ἢ διαμερισμόν

dokeite hoti eirēnēn paregenomēn dounai en tē gē ouchi legō hymin all’ ē diamerismon

Think you - peace I came to give in the earth? No I say to you but or division

12:52

ἔσονται γὰρ ἀπὸ τοῦ νῦν πέντε ἐν ἑνὶ οἴκῳ διαμεμερισμένοι τρεῖς ἐπὶ δυσὶν καὶ δύο τρισίν

esontai gar apo tou nyn pente en heni oikō diamemerismenoi treis epi dysin kai dyo trisin

will be for from of the now five in to one [the] house divided three at to two And two three

12:53

διαμερισθήσονται πατὴρ ἐπὶ υἱῷ καὶ υἱὸς πατρί μήτηρ [τὴν] θυγατέρα θυγάτηρ τὴν μητέρα πενθερὰ νύμφην αὐτῆς νύμφη πενθεράν

diameristhēsontai patēr epi huiō kai huios patri mētēr tēn thygatera thygatēr tēn mētera penthera nymphēn autēs nymphē pentheran

12:54
