Πρωΐας δὲ γενομένης συμβούλιον ἔλαβον πάντες οἱ ἀρχιερεῖς καὶ πρεσβύτεροι τοῦ λαοῦ κατὰ Ἰησοῦ ὥστε θανατῶσαι αὐτόν

Prōias de genomenēs symboulion elabon pantes hoi archiereis kai presbyteroi tou laou kata Iēsou hōste thanatōsai auton

Morning however having come counsel received all - chief priests And elders of the people with of Jesus so as put to death Him

καὶ δήσαντες αὐτὸν ἀπήγαγον παρέδωκαν Πιλάτῳ τῷ ἡγεμόνι

kai dēsantes auton apēgagon paredōkan Pilatō tō hēgemoni

And having bound him they led away delivered [Him] to Pilate - governor

Τότε ἰδὼν Ἰούδας ὁ παραδιδοὺς* αὐτὸν ὅτι κατεκρίθη μεταμεληθεὶς ἔστρεψεν τὰ τριάκοντα ἀργύρια τοῖς ἀρχιερεῦσιν καὶ πρεσβυτέροις

Tote idōn Ioudas ho paradidous auton hoti katekrithē metamelētheis estrepsen ta triakonta argyria tois archiereusin kai presbyterois

Then having seen Judas - having delivered up him - He was condemned having regretted [it] he returned the thirtyfold pieces of silver on the chief priests And elders

saying I sinned having betrayed blood innocent - however they said What to us? yourself will see

Καὶ ῥίψας τὰ ἀργύρια εἰς τὸν ναὸν ἀνεχώρησεν καὶ ἀπελθὼν ἀπήγξατο

kai rhipsas ta argyria eis ton naon anechōrēsen kai apelthōn apēnxato

And having cast down the pieces of silver for the temple withdrew And having gone hanged himself

- however chief priests having taken the pieces of silver they said Not it is lawful to cast [it] them for the treasury since price of blood is

counsel however having taken bought out of of them the field of the potter for a burial place on the strangers

τότε ἐπληρώθη τὸ ῥηθὲν διὰ Ἰερεμίου τοῦ προφήτου λέγοντος Καὶ ἔλαβον τὰ τριάκοντα ἀργύρια τὴν τιμὴν τετιμημένου ὃν ἐτιμήσαντο ἀπὸ υἱῶν Ἰσραήλ

tote eplērōthē to rhēthen dia Ieremiou tou prophētou legontos kai elabon ta triakonta argyria tēn timēn tetimēmenou hon etimēsanto apo huiōn Israēl

then was fulfilled the was spoken of on account of Jeremiah of the prophet saying And received the thirtyfold pieces of silver the price having been priced which they set a price on from sons O Israel:

kai edōkan auta eis ton agron tou kerameōs katha synetaxen moi Kyrios

And they gave them for the field of the potter as directed Me Lord

ho de Iēsous estathē emprosthen tou hēgemonos kai epērōtēsen auton ho hēgemōn legōn Sy ei Basileus tōn Ioudaiōn ephē legeis

- however Jesus it stood before of the governor And He asked him - governor saying You are King of the Jews? He was saying say You

And in - being accused him by of the chief priests And elders anything did He answer

Τότε λέγει αὐτῷ ὁ Πιλᾶτος Οὐκ ἀκούεις πόσα σου καταμαρτυροῦσιν;

Tote legei autō ho Pilatos Ouk akoueis posa sou katamartyrousin

Then He says to Him - Pilate Not do you hear how many things of You testify against?

Καὶ οὐκ ἀπεκρίθη αὐτῷ πρὸς οὐδὲ ἓν ῥῆμα ὥστε θαυμάζειν τὸν ἡγεμόνα λίαν

kai ouk apekrithē autō pros oude hen rhēma hōste thaumazein ton hēgemona lian

And not she answered to Him to nor one saying so as to amaze the governor still much

Κατὰ δὲ ἑορτὴν εἰώθει ὁ ἡγεμὼν ἀπολύειν ἕνα τῷ ὄχλῳ δέσμιον ὃν ἤθελον

Kata de heortēn eiōthei ho hēgemōn apolyein hena tō ochlō desmion hon ēthelon

At however [the] feast He had been accustomed - governor to release one - crowd prisoner which they desired

συνηγμένων οὖν αὐτῶν εἶπεν αὐτοῖς ὁ Πιλᾶτος Τίνα θέλετε ἀπολύσω ὑμῖν ‹Ἰησοῦν τὸν› Βαραββᾶν ἢ Ἰησοῦν τὸν λεγόμενον Χριστόν;

synēgmenōn oun autōn eipen autois ho Pilatos Tina thelete apolysō hymin Iēsoun ton Barabban ē Iēsoun ton legomenon Christon

Being gathered together therefore of them said to them - Pilate Whom do you desire I shall send away to you Jesus - Barabbas or Jesus the called Christ?

Καθημένου δὲ αὐτοῦ ἐπὶ τοῦ βήματος ἀπέστειλεν πρὸς αὐτὸν ἡ γυνὴ λέγουσα Μηδὲν σοὶ καὶ τῷ δικαίῳ ἐκείνῳ πολλὰ γὰρ ἔπαθον σήμερον κατ’ ὄναρ δι’ αὐτόν

Kathēmenou de autou epi tou bēmatos apesteilen pros auton hē gynē legousa Mēden soi kai tō dikaiō ekeinō polla gar epathon sēmeron kat’ onar di’ auton

[As] was sitting however of Him’” at of the judgment seat He sent to him the a woman saying [Let there be] nothing You And - righteous [man] that many for I suffered now With a dream after [some] Him

Οἱ δὲ ἀρχιερεῖς καὶ οἱ πρεσβύτεροι ἔπεισαν τοὺς ὄχλους ἵνα αἰτήσωνται τὸν Βαραββᾶν Ἰησοῦν ἀπολέσωσιν

hoi de archiereis kai hoi presbyteroi epeisan tous ochlous hina aitēsōntai ton Barabban Iēsoun apolesōsin

- however chief priests And - elders persuaded the crowds so that they shall ask the Barabbas Jesus they might destroy

Ἀποκριθεὶς δὲ ὁ ἡγεμὼν εἶπεν αὐτοῖς Τίνα θέλετε ἀπὸ τῶν δύο ἀπολύσω ὑμῖν; Οἱ εἶπαν Τὸν Βαραββᾶν

apokritheis de ho hēgemōn eipen autois Tina thelete apo tōn dyo apolysō hymin hoi eipan Ton Barabban

Answering however - governor said to them Whom do you desire from of the two I shall send away for you? - they said The Barabbas

He says to them - Pilate What therefore I will make Jesus the called Christ? They say all Let [Him] be crucified

- however He was saying What for evil did He commit? - exceedingly crying out saying Let [Him] be crucified

Ἰδὼν δὲ ὁ Πιλᾶτος ὅτι οὐδὲν ὠφελεῖ ἀλλὰ μᾶλλον θόρυβος γίνεται λαβὼν ὕδωρ ἀπενίψατο τὰς χεῖρας ἀπέναντι* τοῦ ὄχλου λέγων Ἀθῷός εἰμι ἀπὸ αἵματος τούτου ὑμεῖς ὄψεσθε

idōn de ho Pilatos hoti ouden ōphelei alla mallon thorybos ginetai labōn hydōr apenipsato tas cheiras apenanti tou ochlou legōn Athōos eimi apo haimatos toutou hymeis opsesthe

Having seen however - Pilate - anything does it profit But rather an uproar it came to pass having taken water he washed the hands before of the crowd saying Guiltless am [He] from of blood this you you will see

And He answering all - people said The blood of Him’” against us? And at the children us

Tote apelysen autois ton Barabban de Iēsoun phragellōsas paredōken hina staurōthē

Then He sent away to them the Barabbas however Jesus having flogged [him] betrayed so that He might be crucified

Tote hoi stratiōtai tou hēgemonos paralabontes ton Iēsoun eis to praitōrion synēgagon ep’ auton holēn tēn speiran

Then - the soldiers of the governor having taken with [them] the Jesus for the Praetorium they brought together in him all the cohort

kai ekdysantes auton chlamyda kokkinēn periethēkan autō

And having stripped him a robe scarlet they put around to Him

καὶ πλέξαντες στέφανον ἐξ ἀκανθῶν ἐπέθηκαν ἐπὶ τῆς κεφαλῆς αὐτοῦ κάλαμον ἐν τῇ δεξιᾷ γονυπετήσαντες ἔμπροσθεν ἐνέπαιξαν αὐτῷ λέγοντες Χαῖρε Βασιλεῦ τῶν Ἰουδαίων

kai plexantes stephanon ex akanthōn epethēkan epi tēs kephalēs autou kalamon en tē dexia gonypetēsantes emprosthen enepaixan autō legontes Chaire Basileu tōn Ioudaiōn

And having twisted together a crown out of thorns put at - head of Him’” A reed in the right hand having bowed the knees before they had mocked to Him saying Hail King of the Jews

kai emptysantes eis auton elabon ton kalamon etypton tēn kephalēn autou

And having spit for him received the A reed they kept striking the head of Him’”

kai hote enepaixan autō exedysan auton tēn chlamyda kai enedysan ta himatia autou apēgagon eis to staurōsai

And when they had mocked to Him they took off him the a robe And put on the garments of Him’” they led away for the to crucify

Exerchomenoi de heuron anthrōpon Kyrēnaion onomati Simōna touton ēngareusan hina arē ton stauron autou

Going forth however having found man of Cyrene named Simon this they compelled so that he might carry the cross of Him’”

they gave to Him to drink wine with gall mingled And having tasted not was he willing

Σταυρώσαντες δὲ αὐτὸν διεμερίσαντο τὰ ἱμάτια αὐτοῦ βάλλοντες κλῆρον {ἵνα πληρωθῇ τὸ ῥηθὲν ὑπὸ τοῦ προφήτου Διεμερίσαντο ἱμάτιά μου ἑαυτοῖς καὶ ἐπὶ τὸν ἱματισμόν ἔβαλον κλῆρον}

staurōsantes de auton diemerisanto ta himatia autou ballontes klēron hina plērōthē to rhēthen hypo tou prophētou Diemerisanto himatia mou heautois kai epi ton himatismon ebalon klēron

Having crucified however him they divided the garments of Him’” casting lots that may be fulfilled the was spoken of by of the prophet They divided garments of Me themselves And at the clothing cast [in] a lot

And sitting they were guarding him there

kai epethēkan epanō tēs kephalēs autou tēn aitian gegrammenēn Houtos ESTIN IĒSOUS HO BASILEUS TŌN IOUDAIŌN

And put for above - head of Him’” the accusation written: This is Jesus The King of the Jews

Τότε σταυροῦνται σὺν αὐτῷ δύο λῃσταί εἷς ἐκ δεξιῶν καὶ ἐξ εὐωνύμων

Tote staurountai syn autō dyo lēstai heis ek dexiōn kai ex euōnymōn

Then are crucified with to Him two robbers alone from [Your] right hand And out of [the] left hand

Οἱ δὲ παραπορευόμενοι ἐβλασφήμουν αὐτὸν κινοῦντες τὰς κεφαλὰς αὐτῶν

hoi de paraporeuomenoi eblasphēmoun auton kinountes tas kephalas autōn

- however passing by were railing at him shaking the heads of them

kai legontes ho katalyōn ton naon en trisin hēmerais oikodomōn sōson seauton ei Huios ei tou Theou katabēthi apo staurou

And saying - destroying the temple in three days building [it] save yourself’ if Son are of the of God descend from cross

homoiōs kai hoi archiereis empaizontes meta tōn grammateōn kai presbyterōn elegon

Likewise also - chief priests mocking with of the scribes And elders were saying

Ἄλλους ἔσωσεν ἑαυτὸν οὐ δύναται σῶσαι Βασιλεὺς Ἰσραήλ ἐστιν καταβάτω νῦν ἀπὸ τοῦ σταυροῦ καὶ πιστεύσομεν ἐπ’ αὐτόν

Allous esōsen heauton ou dynatai sōsai Basileus Israēl estin katabatō nyn apo tou staurou kai pisteusomen ep’ auton

Others He saved himself not is able to save King O Israel: is let him come down now from of the cross And we will believe in Him

Of however sixth the hour darkness it came to pass at all the soil until ninth

περὶ δὲ τὴν ἐνάτην ὥραν ἀνεβόησεν ὁ Ἰησοῦς φωνῇ μεγάλῃ λέγων Ἠλὶ* ἠλὶ* λεμὰ σαβαχθάνι*; τοῦτ’ ἔστιν Θεέ μου θεέ ἵνα‿ τί με ἐγκατέλιπες;

peri de tēn enatēn hōran aneboēsen ho Iēsous phōnē megalē legōn Ēli ēli lema sabachthani tout’ estin Thee mou thee hina ti me enkatelipes

around however the ninth hour cried out - Jesus in a voice loud saying Eli Eli lema sabachthani? that is God of Me God so that Which me have you forsaken?”

Τινὲς δὲ τῶν ἐκεῖ ἑστηκότων ἀκούσαντες ἔλεγον ὅτι Ἠλίαν φωνεῖ οὗτος

Some however of the there standing having heard [of it] were saying - Elijah He calls this [man]

kai eutheōs dramōn heis ex autōn labōn spongon plēsas te oxous peritheis kalamō epotizen auton

And immediately having run alone out of of them having taken a sponge having filled [it] both with vinegar having put [it] on with a reed gave to drink Him

hoi de loipoi elegon Aphes idōmen ei erchetai Ēlias sōsōn auton allos labōn lonchēn enyxen autou tēn pleuran kai exēlthen hydōr haima

- however the rest were saying Permit we might see if comes Elijah to save Him more having taken a spear pierced of Him’” the side And it came forth water blood

And Behold the veil of the temple was torn from top until below for two And the earth was stirred the rocks were split

And having gone forth from of the tombs with the resurrection of Him’” entered for holy city appeared to many

Ὁ δὲ ἑκατόνταρχος καὶ οἱ μετ’ αὐτοῦ τηροῦντες τὸν Ἰησοῦν ἰδόντες σεισμὸν τὰ γενόμενα* ἐφοβήθησαν σφόδρα λέγοντες Ἀληθῶς Θεοῦ Υἱὸς ἦν οὗτος

ho de hekatontarchos kai hoi met’ autou tērountes ton Iēsoun idontes seismon ta genomena ephobēthēsan sphodra legontes Alēthōs Theou Huios ēn houtos

- however a centurion And - with of Him’” keeping guard over the Jesus having seen earthquake the taking place they feared extremely saying Truly of God Son was this [man]

Ἦσαν δὲ ἐκεῖ γυναῖκες πολλαὶ ἀπὸ μακρόθεν θεωροῦσαι αἵτινες ἠκολούθησαν τῷ Ἰησοῦ τῆς Γαλιλαίας διακονοῦσαι αὐτῷ

ēsan de ekei gynaikes pollai apo makrothen theōrousai haitines ēkolouthēsan tō Iēsou tēs Galilaias diakonousai autō

Were however there women many from afar looking on who they followed - of Jesus - of Galilee ministering to Him

Command therefore to be secured the tomb until - third days lest ever having come - disciples of Him steal away him And shall say - people He is risen from of the [the] dead it will be the last deception worse first
