Luke 5 | Luke 7

6:1

Ἐγένετο δὲ ἐν σαββάτῳ διαπορεύεσθαι αὐτὸν διὰ σπορίμων καὶ ἔτιλλον οἱ μαθηταὶ αὐτοῦ ἤσθιον τοὺς στάχυας ψώχοντες ταῖς χερσίν

egeneto de en sabbatō diaporeuesthai auton dia sporimōn kai etillon hoi mathētai autou ēsthion tous stachyas psōchontes tais chersin

Came however in Sabbath is passing along him on account of grainfields And were plucking - disciples of Him’” were eating the heads of grain rubbing [them] - hands

6:2

τινὲς δὲ τῶν Φαρισαίων εἶπαν Τί ποιεῖτε ὃ οὐκ ἔξεστιν τοῖς σάββασιν;

tines de tōn Pharisaiōn eipan Ti poieite ho ouk exestin tois sabbasin

Some however of the Pharisees they said What make that which not it is lawful on the Sabbaths?

6:3

Καὶ ἀποκριθεὶς πρὸς αὐτοὺς εἶπεν ὁ Ἰησοῦς Οὐδὲ τοῦτο ἀνέγνωτε ὃ ἐποίησεν Δαυὶδ ὁπότε ἐπείνασεν αὐτὸς καὶ οἱ μετ’ αὐτοῦ ὄντες;

kai apokritheis pros autous eipen ho Iēsous Oude touto anegnōte ho epoiēsen Dauid hopote epeinasen autos kai hoi met’ autou ontes

And He answering to they said - Jesus Neither this did you read that which did David when hungered He And - with of Him’” being?

6:4

ὡς εἰσῆλθεν εἰς τὸν οἶκον τοῦ Θεοῦ καὶ τοὺς ἄρτους τῆς προθέσεως λαβὼν ἔφαγεν ἔδωκεν τοῖς μετ’ αὐτοῦ οὓς οὐκ ἔξεστιν φαγεῖν εἰ μὴ μόνους ἱερεῖς;

hōs eisēlthen eis ton oikon tou Theou kai tous artous tēs protheseōs labōn ephagen edōken tois met’ autou hous ouk exestin phagein ei mē monous hiereis

as he entered for the house of the of God And the loaves - presentation having taken ate he gave on the with of Him’” which not it is lawful to eat if not alone priests?

6:5

καὶ ἔλεγεν αὐτοῖς Κύριός ἐστιν τοῦ σαββάτου ὁ Υἱὸς ἀνθρώπου

kai elegen autois Kyrios estin tou sabbatou ho Huios anthrōpou

And He said to them Lord is of the Sabbath - Son of Man

6:6

Ἐγένετο δὲ ἐν ἑτέρῳ σαββάτῳ εἰσελθεῖν αὐτὸν εἰς τὴν συναγωγὴν καὶ διδάσκειν ἦν ἄνθρωπος ἐκεῖ ἡ χεὶρ αὐτοῦ δεξιὰ ξηρά

egeneto de en heterō sabbatō eiselthein auton eis tēn synagōgēn kai didaskein ēn anthrōpos ekei hē cheir autou dexia xēra

Came however in other Sabbath to enter him for the synagogue And to teach was a man there the hand of Him’” right withered

6:7

παρετηροῦντο δὲ αὐτὸν οἱ γραμματεῖς καὶ Φαρισαῖοι εἰ ἐν τῷ σαββάτῳ θεραπεύει ἵνα εὕρωσιν κατηγορεῖν αὐτοῦ

paretērounto de auton hoi grammateis kai Pharisaioi ei en tō sabbatō therapeuei hina heurōsin katēgorein autou

Were closely watching however him - scribes And Pharisees if in - Sabbath He will heal so that they might find [reason] to accuse of Him’”

6:8

Αὐτὸς δὲ ᾔδει τοὺς διαλογισμοὺς αὐτῶν εἶπεν τῷ ἀνδρὶ ξηρὰν ἔχοντι τὴν χεῖρα Ἔγειρε καὶ στῆθι εἰς τὸ μέσον ἀναστὰς ἔστη

autos de ēdei tous dialogismous autōn eipen tō andri xēran echonti tēn cheira Egeire kai stēthi eis to meson anastas estē

He however he knew the reasonings of them said - for a husband dry [land] having the hand Arise And stand for the midst having risen up he stood

6:9

εἶπεν δὲ ὁ Ἰησοῦς πρὸς αὐτούς Ἐπερωτῶ ὑμᾶς εἰ ἔξεστιν τῷ σαββάτῳ ἀγαθοποιῆσαι ἢ κακοποιῆσαι ψυχὴν σῶσαι ἀπολέσαι;

eipen de ho Iēsous pros autous Eperōtō hymas ei exestin tō sabbatō agathopoiēsai ē kakopoiēsai psychēn sōsai apolesai

said however - Jesus to them I ask you if it is lawful - Sabbath to do good or to do evil? Life to save to destroy?

6:10

Καὶ περιβλεψάμενος πάντας αὐτοὺς εἶπεν αὐτῷ Ἔκτεινον τὴν χεῖρά σου ὁ δὲ ἐποίησεν καὶ ἀπεκατεστάθη ἡ χεὶρ αὐτοῦ

kai periblepsamenos pantas autous eipen autō Ekteinon tēn cheira sou ho de epoiēsen kai apekatestathē hē cheir autou

And having looked around on all they said to Him Stretch out the hand of You - however did And was restored the hand of Him’”

6:11

αὐτοὶ δὲ ἐπλήσθησαν ἀνοίας καὶ διελάλουν πρὸς ἀλλήλους τί ἂν ποιήσαιεν τῷ Ἰησοῦ

autoi de eplēsthēsan anoias kai dielaloun pros allēlous ti an poiēsaien tō Iēsou

yourselves however were fulfilled with rage And were discussing to each other Which - they might do - of Jesus

6:12

Ἐγένετο δὲ ἐν ταῖς ἡμέραις ταύταις ἐξελθεῖν αὐτὸν εἰς τὸ ὄρος προσεύξασθαι καὶ ἦν διανυκτερεύων τῇ προσευχῇ τοῦ Θεοῦ

egeneto de en tais hēmerais tautais exelthein auton eis to oros proseuxasthai kai ēn dianyktereuōn tē proseuchē tou Theou

Came however in - days these to go out him for the mountain to pray And was spending the night the prayer” of the of God

6:13

καὶ ὅτε ἐγένετο ἡμέρα προσεφώνησεν τοὺς μαθητὰς αὐτοῦ ἐκλεξάμενος ἀπ’ αὐτῶν δώδεκα οὓς ἀποστόλους ὠνόμασεν

kai hote egeneto hēmera prosephōnēsen tous mathētas autou eklexamenos ap’ autōn dōdeka hous apostolous ōnomasen

And when it came to pass day He called to [Him] the disciples of Him’” having chosen out from of them twelve which apostles He named:

6:14

Σίμωνα ὃν καὶ ὠνόμασεν Πέτρον Ἀνδρέαν τὸν ἀδελφὸν αὐτοῦ Ἰάκωβον Ἰωάννην Φίλιππον Βαρθολομαῖον

Simōna hon kai ōnomasen Petron Andrean ton adelphon autou Iakōbon Iōannēn Philippon Bartholomaion

Simon which And He named: Peter Andrew the brother of Him’” James of John Philip Bartholomew

6:15

καὶ Μαθθαῖον Θωμᾶν Ἰάκωβον Ἁλφαίου Σίμωνα τὸν καλούμενον Ζηλωτὴν

kai Maththaion Thōman Iakōbon Halphaiou Simōna ton kaloumenon Zēlōtēn

And Matthew Thomas James of Alphaeus Simon the called Zealot

6:16

καὶ Ἰούδαν Ἰακώβου Ἰσκαριὼθ ὃς ἐγένετο προδότης

kai Ioudan Iakōbou Iskariōth hos egeneto prodotēs

And Judas James Iscariot who it came to pass [the] betrayer

6:17

Καὶ καταβὰς μετ’ αὐτῶν ἔστη ἐπὶ τόπου πεδινοῦ καὶ ὄχλος πολὺς μαθητῶν αὐτοῦ πλῆθος πολὺ τοῦ λαοῦ ἀπὸ πάσης τῆς Ἰουδαίας Ἰερουσαλὴμ παραλίου Τύρου Σιδῶνος

kai katabas met’ autōn estē epi topou pedinou kai ochlos polys mathētōn autou plēthos poly tou laou apo pasēs tēs Ioudaias Ierousalēm paraliou Tyrou Sidōnos

And having descended with of them he stood at place level And crowd great disciples of Him’” a multitude great of the people from of all - Judea Jerusalem sea coast of Tyre Sidon

6:18

οἳ ἦλθον ἀκοῦσαι αὐτοῦ καὶ ἰαθῆναι ἀπὸ τῶν νόσων αὐτῶν οἱ ἐνοχλούμενοι πνευμάτων ἀκαθάρτων ἐθεραπεύοντο

hoi ēlthon akousai autou kai iathēnai apo tōn nosōn autōn hoi enochloumenoi pneumatōn akathartōn etherapeuonto

who they came to hear of Him’” And to be healed from of the diseases of them - troubled spirits unclean were healed

6:19

καὶ πᾶς ὁ ὄχλος ἐζήτουν ἅπτεσθαι αὐτοῦ ὅτι δύναμις παρ’ ἐξήρχετο ἰᾶτο πάντας

kai pas ho ochlos ezētoun haptesthai autou hoti dynamis par’ exērcheto iato pantas

And all - crowd they were seeking to touch of Him’” - power belonging to Were going out healing all

6:20

Καὶ αὐτὸς ἐπάρας τοὺς ὀφθαλμοὺς αὐτοῦ εἰς μαθητὰς ἔλεγεν Μακάριοι οἱ πτωχοί Ὅτι ὑμετέρα ἐστὶν ἡ βασιλεία τοῦ Θεοῦ

kai autos eparas tous ophthalmous autou eis mathētas elegen Makarioi hoi ptōchoi Hoti hymetera estin hē basileia tou Theou

And He having lifted up the eyes of Him’” for disciples He said Blessed [are] - poor Why yours is the kingdom of the of God

6:21

Μακάριοι οἱ πεινῶντες νῦν Ὅτι χορτασθήσεσθε κλαίοντες γελάσετε

Makarioi hoi peinōntes nyn Hoti chortasthēsesthe klaiontes gelasete

Blessed [are] - hungering now Why you will be filled weeping you will laugh

6:22

Μακάριοί ἐστε ὅταν μισήσωσιν ὑμᾶς οἱ ἄνθρωποι καὶ ἀφορίσωσιν ὀνειδίσωσιν ἐκβάλωσιν τὸ ὄνομα ὑμῶν ὡς πονηρὸν ἕνεκα τοῦ Υἱοῦ ἀνθρώπου

makarioi este hotan misēsōsin hymas hoi anthrōpoi kai aphorisōsin oneidisōsin ekbalōsin to onoma hymōn hōs ponēron heneka tou Huiou anthrōpou

Blessed are you? when shall hate you - men And they shall exclude they shall insult they might cast out the [the] name you as evil on account of of the Son of Man

6:23

χάρητε ἐν ἐκείνῃ τῇ ἡμέρᾳ καὶ σκιρτήσατε ἰδοὺ γὰρ ὁ μισθὸς ὑμῶν πολὺς τῷ οὐρανῷ κατὰ τὰ αὐτὰ ἐποίουν τοῖς προφήταις οἱ πατέρες αὐτῶν

charēte en ekeinē tē hēmera kai skirtēsate idou gar ho misthos hymōn polys tō ouranō kata ta auta epoioun tois prophētais hoi pateres autōn

Rejoice in those the days And leap for joy Behold for - reward you great - heaven with the them used to treat on the prophets - fathers of them

6:24

Πλὴν οὐαὶ ὑμῖν τοῖς πλουσίοις Ὅτι ἀπέχετε τὴν παράκλησιν ὑμῶν

Plēn ouai hymin tois plousiois Hoti apechete tēn paraklēsin hymōn

But woe to you on the rich Why you are receiving the [the] consolation you

6:25

Οὐαὶ ὑμῖν οἱ ἐμπεπλησμένοι νῦν Ὅτι πεινάσετε Οὐαί γελῶντες πενθήσετε καὶ κλαύσετε

ouai hymin hoi empeplēsmenoi nyn Hoti peinasete Ouai gelōntes penthēsete kai klausete

Woe to you - having been filled now Why you will hunger Woe laughing you will mourn And will weep

6:26

Οὐαὶ ὅταν καλῶς ⇔ ὑμᾶς εἴπωσιν πάντες οἱ ἄνθρωποι Κατὰ τὰ αὐτὰ γὰρ ἐποίουν τοῖς ψευδοπροφήταις πατέρες αὐτῶν

ouai hotan kalōs hymas eipōsin pantes hoi anthrōpoi Kata ta auta gar epoioun tois pseudoprophētais pateres autōn

Woe when well you shall say all - men At the them for used to treat on the false prophets fathers of them

6:27

Ἀλλὰ ὑμῖν λέγω τοῖς ἀκούουσιν Ἀγαπᾶτε τοὺς ἐχθροὺς ὑμῶν καλῶς ποιεῖτε μισοῦσιν ὑμᾶς

Alla hymin legō tois akouousin Agapate tous echthrous hymōn kalōs poieite misousin hymas

But to you I say on the hear Love the enemies you well make hating you

6:28

εὐλογεῖτε τοὺς καταρωμένους ὑμᾶς προσεύχεσθε περὶ τῶν ἐπηρεαζόντων

eulogeite tous katarōmenous hymas proseuchesthe peri tōn epēreazontōn

bless the cursing you praying around of the persecuting

6:29

τῷ τύπτοντί σε ἐπὶ τὴν σιαγόνα πάρεχε καὶ ἄλλην ἀπὸ τοῦ αἴροντός σου τὸ ἱμάτιον τὸν χιτῶνα μὴ κωλύσῃς

tō typtonti se epi tēn siagona pareche kai allēn apo tou airontos sou to himation ton chitōna mē kōlysēs

- striking You at the cheek offer And another from of the taking away of You the clothing the tunic not do withhold

6:30

παντὶ αἰτοῦντί σε δίδου καὶ ἀπὸ τοῦ αἴροντος τὰ σὰ μὴ ἀπαίτει

panti aitounti se didou kai apo tou airontos ta sa mē apaitei

every asking of You give And from of the taking away the yours not ask [it] back

6:31

καὶ καθὼς θέλετε ἵνα ποιῶσιν ὑμῖν οἱ ἄνθρωποι ποιεῖτε αὐτοῖς ὁμοίως

kai kathōs thelete hina poiōsin hymin hoi anthrōpoi poieite autois homoiōs

And as do you desire so that should do to you - men make to them likewise

6:32

Καὶ εἰ ἀγαπᾶτε τοὺς ἀγαπῶντας ὑμᾶς ποία ὑμῖν χάρις ἐστίν; καὶ γὰρ οἱ ἁμαρτωλοὶ αὐτοὺς ἀγαπῶσιν

kai ei agapate tous agapōntas hymas poia hymin charis estin kai gar hoi hamartōloi autous agapōsin

And if love the loving you which to you [the] grace is it? And for - sinners they love

6:33

καὶ γὰρ ἐὰν ἀγαθοποιῆτε τοὺς ἀγαθοποιοῦντας ὑμᾶς ποία ὑμῖν χάρις ἐστίν; οἱ ἁμαρτωλοὶ τὸ αὐτὸ ποιοῦσιν

kai gar ean agathopoiēte tous agathopoiountas hymas poia hymin charis estin hoi hamartōloi to auto poiousin

And for if you do good the doing good to you which to you [the] grace is it? - sinners the it do they

6:34

καὶ ἐὰν δανίσητε παρ’ ὧν ἐλπίζετε λαβεῖν ποία ὑμῖν χάρις ἐστίν; ἁμαρτωλοὶ ἁμαρτωλοῖς δανίζουσιν ἵνα ἀπολάβωσιν τὰ ἴσα

kai ean danisēte par’ hōn elpizete labein poia hymin charis estin hamartōloi hamartōlois danizousin hina apolabōsin ta isa

And if you lend [to those] belonging to of what things you expect to take which to you [the] grace is it? sinners to sinners lend so that they might receive the same amount

6:35

Πλὴν ἀγαπᾶτε τοὺς ἐχθροὺς ὑμῶν καὶ ἀγαθοποιεῖτε δανίζετε μηδὲν ἀπελπίζοντες ἔσται ὁ μισθὸς πολύς ἔσεσθε υἱοὶ Ὑψίστου ὅτι αὐτὸς χρηστός ἐστιν ἐπὶ ἀχαρίστους πονηρούς

Plēn agapate tous echthrous hymōn kai agathopoieite danizete mēden apelpizontes estai ho misthos polys esesthe huioi Hypsistou hoti autos chrēstos estin epi acharistous ponērous

But love the enemies you And do good lend to none expecting in return it will be - reward great you will be sons of [the] Most High - He better is at ungrateful evil

6:36

Γίνεσθε οἰκτίρμονες καθὼς [καὶ] ὁ Πατὴρ ὑμῶν οἰκτίρμων ἐστίν

Ginesthe oiktirmones kathōs kai ho Patēr hymōn oiktirmōn estin

Be you merciful as and - Father you merciful He is

6:37

Καὶ μὴ κρίνετε καὶ οὐ κριθῆτε καταδικάζετε καταδικασθῆτε ἀπολύετε ἀπολυθήσεσθε

kai mē krinete kai ou krithēte katadikazete katadikasthēte apolyete apolythēsesthe

And not do judge And not you should be judged condemn you should be condemned Forgive you will be forgiven

6:38

δίδοτε καὶ δοθήσεται ὑμῖν μέτρον καλὸν πεπιεσμένον σεσαλευμένον ὑπερεκχυννόμενον δώσουσιν εἰς τὸν κόλπον ὑμῶν ᾧ γὰρ μέτρῳ μετρεῖτε ἀντιμετρηθήσεται

didote kai dothēsetai hymin metron kalon pepiesmenon sesaleumenon hyperekchynnomenon dōsousin eis ton kolpon hymōn hō gar metrō metreite antimetrēthēsetai

Give And it will be given to you measure Good [is] pressed down shaken together running over they will give for the lap you which for measure you measure it will be measured again

6:39

Εἶπεν δὲ καὶ παραβολὴν αὐτοῖς Μήτι δύναται τυφλὸς τυφλὸν ὁδηγεῖν; οὐχὶ ἀμφότεροι εἰς βόθυνον ἐμπεσοῦνται;

Eipen de kai parabolēn autois Mēti dynatai typhlos typhlon hodēgein ouchi amphoteroi eis bothynon empesountai

Said however And parable to them Not is able blind a blind [man] to lead? Do not both for a pit will fall?

6:40

οὐκ ἔστιν μαθητὴς ὑπὲρ τὸν διδάσκαλον κατηρτισμένος δὲ πᾶς ἔσται ὡς ὁ διδάσκαλος αὐτοῦ

ouk estin mathētēs hyper ton didaskalon katērtismenos de pas estai hōs ho didaskalos autou

not is a disciple for the teacher fully trained however all it will be as - Teacher of Him’”

6:41

Τί δὲ βλέπεις τὸ κάρφος ἐν τῷ ὀφθαλμῷ τοῦ ἀδελφοῦ σου τὴν δοκὸν ἰδίῳ οὐ κατανοεῖς;

Ti de blepeis to karphos en tō ophthalmō tou adelphou sou tēn dokon idiō ou katanoeis

What however You look the splinter in - eye of the brother of You the beam own not notice?

6:42

πῶς δύνασαι λέγειν τῷ ἀδελφῷ σου Ἀδελφέ ἄφες ἐκβάλω τὸ κάρφος ἐν ὀφθαλμῷ αὐτὸς τὴν σοῦ δοκὸν οὐ βλέπων; ὑποκριτά ἔκβαλε πρῶτον ἐκ τοῦ ὀφθαλμοῦ καὶ τότε διαβλέψεις ἀδελφοῦ ἐκβαλεῖν

pōs dynasai legein tō adelphō sou Adelphe aphes ekbalō to karphos en ophthalmō autos tēn sou dokon ou blepōn hypokrita ekbale prōton ek tou ophthalmou kai tote diablepseis adelphou ekbalein

How you are able to say - brother of You Brother leave I might cast out the splinter in eye He the you beam not seeing? Hypocrite cast out first from of the eye And then you will see clearly brother to cast out

6:43

Οὐ γάρ ἐστιν δένδρον καλὸν ποιοῦν καρπὸν σαπρόν οὐδὲ πάλιν σαπρὸν καλόν

Ou gar estin dendron kalon poioun karpon sapron oude palin sapron kalon

No for is tree Good [is] producing fruit bad nor again the bad good

6:44

ἕκαστον γὰρ δένδρον ἐκ τοῦ ἰδίου καρποῦ γινώσκεται οὐ ἐξ ἀκανθῶν συλλέγουσιν σῦκα οὐδὲ βάτου σταφυλὴν τρυγῶσιν

hekaston gar dendron ek tou idiou karpou ginōsketai ou ex akanthōn syllegousin syka oude batou staphylēn trygōsin

Each for tree from of the own fruit is known not out of thorns do they gather figs nor a bramble bush grapes gather they

6:45

ὁ ἀγαθὸς ἄνθρωπος ἐκ τοῦ ἀγαθοῦ θησαυροῦ τῆς καρδίας ‹αὐτοῦ› προφέρει τὸ ἀγαθόν καὶ πονηρὸς πονηροῦ πονηρόν γὰρ περισσεύματος λαλεῖ στόμα αὐτοῦ

ho agathos anthrōpos ek tou agathou thēsaurou tēs kardias autou propherei to agathon kai ponēros ponērou ponēron gar perisseumatos lalei stoma autou

- good a man from of the good treasure - heart of Him brings forth the good And evil evil evil for abundance he says mouth of Him’”

6:46

Τί δέ με καλεῖτε Κύριε κύριε καὶ οὐ ποιεῖτε ἃ λέγω;

Ti de me kaleite Kyrie kyrie kai ou poieite ha legō

What now me do you call Lord Lord And not make what I say?

6:47

Πᾶς ὁ ἐρχόμενος πρός με καὶ ἀκούων μου τῶν λόγων ποιῶν αὐτούς ὑποδείξω ὑμῖν τίνι ἐστὶν ὅμοιος

Pas ho erchomenos pros me kai akouōn mou tōn logōn poiōn autous hypodeixō hymin tini estin homoios

Everyone - coming to me And hearing of Me of the words doing them I will show to you what is like

6:48

ὅμοιός ἐστιν ἀνθρώπῳ οἰκοδομοῦντι οἰκίαν ὃς ἔσκαψεν καὶ ἐβάθυνεν ἔθηκεν θεμέλιον ἐπὶ τὴν πέτραν πλημμύρης δὲ γενομένης προσέρηξεν ὁ ποταμὸς τῇ οἰκίᾳ ἐκείνῃ οὐκ ἴσχυσεν σαλεῦσαι αὐτὴν διὰ τὸ καλῶς οἰκοδομῆσθαι αὐτήν

homoios estin anthrōpō oikodomounti oikian hos eskapsen kai ebathynen ethēken themelion epi tēn petran plēmmyrēs de genomenēs proserēxen ho potamos tē oikia ekeinē ouk ischysen saleusai autēn dia to kalōs oikodomēsthai autēn

like is man building house who dug And deepened placed a foundation at the rock a flood however having come burst upon - stream the house those not was able to shake her on account of the well had been built her

6:49

ὁ δὲ ἀκούσας καὶ μὴ ποιήσας ὅμοιός ἐστιν ἀνθρώπῳ οἰκοδομήσαντι οἰκίαν ἐπὶ τὴν γῆν χωρὶς θεμελίου ᾗ προσέρηξεν ποταμός εὐθὺς συνέπεσεν ἐγένετο τὸ ῥῆγμα τῆς οἰκίας ἐκείνης μέγα

ho de akousas kai mē poiēsas homoios estin anthrōpō oikodomēsanti oikian epi tēn gēn chōris themeliou hē proserēxen potamos euthys synepesen egeneto to rhēgma tēs oikias ekeinēs mega

- however having heard And not having done like is man having built house at the soil Without a foundation which burst upon stream immediately it fell it came to pass the ruin - houses that large
