Luke 19 | Luke 21

20:1

Καὶ ἐγένετο ἐν μιᾷ τῶν ἡμερῶν διδάσκοντος αὐτοῦ τὸν λαὸν τῷ ἱερῷ καὶ εὐαγγελιζομένου ἐπέστησαν οἱ ἀρχιερεῖς γραμματεῖς σὺν τοῖς πρεσβυτέροις

kai egeneto en mia tōn hēmerōn didaskontos autou ton laon tō hierō kai euangelizomenou epestēsan hoi archiereis grammateis syn tois presbyterois

And it came to pass in first [day] of the days as was teaching of Him’” the people - temple And proclaiming the gospel came up - chief priests scribes with on the elders

20:2

καὶ εἶπαν λέγοντες πρὸς αὐτόν Εἰπὸν ἡμῖν ἐν ποίᾳ ἐξουσίᾳ ταῦτα ποιεῖς ἢ τίς ἐστιν ὁ δούς σοι τὴν ἐξουσίαν ταύτην;

kai eipan legontes pros auton Eipon hēmin en poia exousia tauta poieis ē tis estin ho dous soi tēn exousian tautēn

And they said saying to Him Tell to us in what authority these things You do or who is - having given to You the authority this?

20:3

Ἀποκριθεὶς δὲ εἶπεν πρὸς αὐτούς Ἐρωτήσω ὑμᾶς κἀγὼ λόγον καὶ εἴπατέ μοι

apokritheis de eipen pros autous Erōtēsō hymas kagō logon kai eipate moi

Answering however said to them Will ask you I also matter And you tell Me

20:4

Τὸ βάπτισμα Ἰωάννου ἐξ οὐρανοῦ ἦν ἢ ἀνθρώπων;

To baptisma Iōannou ex ouranou ēn ē anthrōpōn

The [a] baptism John out of air was or men?

20:5

Οἱ δὲ συνελογίσαντο πρὸς ἑαυτοὺς λέγοντες ὅτι Ἐὰν εἴπωμεν Ἐξ οὐρανοῦ ἐρεῖ Διὰ τί οὐκ ἐπιστεύσατε αὐτῷ;

hoi de synelogisanto pros heautous legontes hoti Ean eipōmen Ex ouranou erei Dia ti ouk episteusate autō

- however they reasoned to themselves saying - If we should say From air He will say Because of Which not did you believe Him?

20:6

ἐὰν δὲ εἴπωμεν Ἐξ ἀνθρώπων ὁ λαὸς ἅπας καταλιθάσει ἡμᾶς πεπεισμένος γάρ ἐστιν Ἰωάννην προφήτην εἶναι

ean de eipōmen Ex anthrōpōn ho laos hapas katalithasei hēmas pepeismenos gar estin Iōannēn prophētēn einai

if however we should say From of men - people all will stone us? having been persuaded for is of John a prophet to be

20:7

Καὶ ἀπεκρίθησαν μὴ εἰδέναι πόθεν

kai apekrithēsan mē eidenai pothen

And answered not they knew how

20:8

Καὶ ὁ Ἰησοῦς εἶπεν αὐτοῖς Οὐδὲ ἐγὼ λέγω ὑμῖν ἐν ποίᾳ ἐξουσίᾳ ταῦτα ποιῶ

kai ho Iēsous eipen autois Oude egō legō hymin en poia exousia tauta poiō

And - Jesus said to them Neither I I say to you in what authority these things I do

20:9

Ἤρξατο δὲ πρὸς τὸν λαὸν λέγειν τὴν παραβολὴν ταύτην Ἄνθρωπος [τις] ἐφύτευσεν ἀμπελῶνα καὶ ἐξέδετο αὐτὸν γεωργοῖς ἀπεδήμησεν χρόνους ἱκανούς

Ērxato de pros ton laon legein tēn parabolēn tautēn Anthrōpos tis ephyteusen ampelōna kai exedeto auton geōrgois apedēmēsen chronous hikanous

Began however to the people to say the parable this? A man certain planted vineyard And rented out him to farmers traveled abroad a time long

20:10

καὶ καιρῷ ἀπέστειλεν πρὸς τοὺς γεωργοὺς δοῦλον ἵνα ἀπὸ τοῦ καρποῦ ἀμπελῶνος δώσουσιν αὐτῷ οἱ δὲ γεωργοὶ ἐξαπέστειλαν αὐτὸν δείραντες κενόν

kai kairō apesteilen pros tous geōrgous doulon hina apo tou karpou ampelōnos dōsousin autō hoi de geōrgoi exapesteilan auton deirantes kenon

And time He sent to the farmers a servant so that from of the fruit vineyard they will give to Him - however farmers sent away him having beaten [him] empty-handed

20:11

Καὶ προσέθετο ἕτερον πέμψαι δοῦλον οἱ δὲ κἀκεῖνον δείραντες καὶ ἀτιμάσαντες ἐξαπέστειλαν κενόν

kai prosetheto heteron pempsai doulon hoi de kakeinon deirantes kai atimasantes exapesteilan kenon

And he proceeded other to send a servant - however and him having beaten [him] And having dishonored sent away empty-handed

20:12

Καὶ προσέθετο τρίτον πέμψαι οἱ δὲ καὶ τοῦτον τραυματίσαντες ἐξέβαλον

kai prosetheto triton pempsai hoi de kai touton traumatisantes exebalon

And he proceeded third time to send - however And this having wounded cast forth

20:13

Εἶπεν δὲ ὁ κύριος τοῦ ἀμπελῶνος Τί ποιήσω; πέμψω τὸν υἱόν μου ἀγαπητόν ἴσως τοῦτον ἐντραπήσονται

Eipen de ho kyrios tou ampelōnos Ti poiēsō pempsō ton huion mou agapēton isōs touton entrapēsontai

Said however - master of the vineyard What I should do? I will send the son of Me beloved perhaps this they will respect

20:14

Ἰδόντες δὲ αὐτὸν οἱ γεωργοὶ διελογίζοντο πρὸς ἀλλήλους λέγοντες Οὗτός ἐστιν ὁ κληρονόμος ἀποκτείνωμεν αὐτόν ἵνα ἡμῶν γένηται ἡ κληρονομία

idontes de auton hoi geōrgoi dielogizonto pros allēlous legontes Houtos estin ho klēronomos apokteinōmen auton hina hēmōn genētai hē klēronomia

Having seen however him - farmers they were reasoning to each other saying This is - heir let us kill Him so that us becomes the inheritance

20:15

καὶ ἐκβαλόντες αὐτὸν ἔξω τοῦ ἀμπελῶνος ἀπέκτειναν Τί οὖν ποιήσει αὐτοῖς ὁ κύριος ἀμπελῶνος;

kai ekbalontes auton exō tou ampelōnos apekteinan Ti oun poiēsei autois ho kyrios ampelōnos

And having cast forth him out of the vineyard they killed What therefore will do to them - master vineyard?

20:16

ἐλεύσεται καὶ ἀπολέσει τοὺς γεωργοὺς τούτους δώσει τὸν ἀμπελῶνα ἄλλοις Ἀκούσαντες δὲ εἶπαν Μὴ γένοιτο

eleusetai kai apolesei tous geōrgous toutous dōsei ton ampelōna allois akousantes de eipan Mē genoito

He will come And will lose the farmers these will give the vineyard to others Having heard however they said Not may it be

20:17

Ὁ δὲ ἐμβλέψας αὐτοῖς εἶπεν Τί οὖν ἐστιν τὸ γεγραμμένον τοῦτο Λίθον ὃν ἀπεδοκίμασαν οἱ οἰκοδομοῦντες Οὗτος ἐγενήθη εἰς κεφαλὴν γωνίας;

ho de emblepsas autois eipen Ti oun estin to gegrammenon touto Lithon hon apedokimasan hoi oikodomountes Houtos egenēthē eis kephalēn gōnias

- however having looked upon to them said What therefore is the written: this [The] stone which rejected - building This has become for head of [the] corner’

20:18

Πᾶς ὁ πεσὼν ἐπ’ ἐκεῖνον τὸν λίθον συνθλασθήσεται ἐφ’ ὃν δ’ ἂν πέσῃ λικμήσει αὐτόν

Pas ho pesōn ep’ ekeinon ton lithon synthlasthēsetai eph’ hon d’ an pesē likmēsei auton

Everyone - having fallen in that the stone will be broken against which however - it shall fall it will grind to powder Him

20:19

Καὶ ἐζήτησαν οἱ γραμματεῖς καὶ ἀρχιερεῖς ἐπιβαλεῖν ἐπ’ αὐτὸν τὰς χεῖρας ἐν αὐτῇ τῇ ὥρᾳ ἐφοβήθησαν τὸν λαόν ἔγνωσαν γὰρ ὅτι πρὸς αὐτοὺς εἶπεν τὴν παραβολὴν ταύτην

kai ezētēsan hoi grammateis kai archiereis epibalein ep’ auton tas cheiras en autē tē hōra ephobēthēsan ton laon egnōsan gar hoti pros autous eipen tēn parabolēn tautēn

And sought - scribes And chief priests to lay in him the hands in on her the hour they feared the people they knew for - to they said the parable this?

20:20

Καὶ παρατηρήσαντες ἀπέστειλαν ἐνκαθέτους ὑποκρινομένους ἑαυτοὺς δικαίους εἶναι ἵνα ἐπιλάβωνται αὐτοῦ λόγου ὥστε παραδοῦναι αὐτὸν τῇ ἀρχῇ καὶ ἐξουσίᾳ τοῦ ἡγεμόνος

kai paratērēsantes apesteilan enkathetous hypokrinomenous heautous dikaious einai hina epilabōntai autou logou hōste paradounai auton tē archē kai exousia tou hēgemonos

And having watched [Him] sent spies feigning themselves [the] righteous to be so that they might catch of Him’” on account so as to deliver him the rule And authority of the governor

20:21

καὶ ἐπηρώτησαν αὐτὸν λέγοντες Διδάσκαλε οἴδαμεν ὅτι ὀρθῶς λέγεις διδάσκεις οὐ λαμβάνεις πρόσωπον ἀλλ’ ἐπ’ ἀληθείας τὴν ὁδὸν τοῦ Θεοῦ

kai epērōtēsan auton legontes Didaskale oidamen hoti orthōs legeis didaskeis ou lambaneis prosōpon all’ ep’ alētheias tēn hodon tou Theou

And they asked him saying Teacher do we know - plainly say You teach not receive appearance but in [the] truth the way of the of God

20:22

ἔξεστιν ἡμᾶς Καίσαρι φόρον δοῦναι ἢ οὔ;

exestin hēmas Kaisari phoron dounai ē ou

it is lawful us? to Caesar tribute to give or not?

20:23

Κατανοήσας δὲ αὐτῶν τὴν πανουργίαν εἶπεν πρὸς αὐτούς

katanoēsas de autōn tēn panourgian eipen pros autous

Having perceived however of them the craftiness said to them

20:24

Δείξατέ μοι δηνάριον τίνος ἔχει εἰκόνα καὶ ἐπιγραφήν; Οἱ δὲ εἶπαν Καίσαρος

Deixate moi dēnarion tinos echei eikona kai epigraphēn hoi de eipan Kaisaros

Show Me a denarius of which has [the] image And inscription? - however they said Caesar’s

20:25

Ὁ δὲ εἶπεν πρὸς αὐτούς Τοίνυν ἀπόδοτε τὰ Καίσαρος Καίσαρι καὶ τοῦ Θεοῦ τῷ Θεῷ

ho de eipen pros autous Toinyn apodote ta Kaisaros Kaisari kai tou Theou tō Theō

- however said to them Therefore give back the Caesar’s to Caesar And of the of God - to God

20:26

Καὶ οὐκ ἴσχυσαν ἐπιλαβέσθαι αὐτοῦ ῥήματος ἐναντίον τοῦ λαοῦ καὶ θαυμάσαντες ἐπὶ τῇ ἀποκρίσει ἐσίγησαν

kai ouk ischysan epilabesthai autou rhēmatos enantion tou laou kai thaumasantes epi tē apokrisei esigēsan

And not they had power to catch Him in of Him’” word before of the people And having marveled at the answer were silent

20:27

Προσελθόντες δέ τινες τῶν Σαδδουκαίων οἱ ἀντιλέγοντες ἀνάστασιν μὴ εἶναι ἐπηρώτησαν αὐτὸν

proselthontes de tines tōn Saddoukaiōn hoi antilegontes anastasin mē einai epērōtēsan auton

Having come to [him] now some of the Sadducees - denying a resurrection not to be they asked him

20:28

λέγοντες Διδάσκαλε Μωϋσῆς ἔγραψεν ἡμῖν ἐάν τινος ἀδελφὸς ἀποθάνῃ ἔχων γυναῖκα καὶ οὗτος ἄτεκνος ᾖ ἵνα λάβῃ ὁ αὐτοῦ τὴν ἐξαναστήσῃ σπέρμα τῷ ἀδελφῷ

legontes Didaskale Mōusēs egrapsen hēmin ean tinos adelphos apothanē echōn gynaika kai houtos ateknos ē hina labē ho autou tēn exanastēsē sperma tō adelphō

saying Teacher Moses He wrote to us if anyone brother should die having wife And this [man] childless he might be so that shall take - of Him’” the raise up seed - brother

20:29

ἑπτὰ οὖν ἀδελφοὶ ἦσαν καὶ ὁ πρῶτος λαβὼν γυναῖκα ἀπέθανεν ἄτεκνος

hepta oun adelphoi ēsan kai ho prōtos labōn gynaika apethanen ateknos

seven therefore brothers they were And - first having taken wife is dead childless

20:30

καὶ ὁ δεύτερος ⧼τὴν γυναῖκα οὗτος ἀπέθανεν ἄτεκνος⧽

kai ho deuteros tēn gynaika houtos apethanen ateknos

And - second as the wife this [man] is dead childless

20:31

καὶ ὁ τρίτος ἔλαβεν αὐτήν ὡσαύτως δὲ οἱ ἑπτὰ οὐ κατέλιπον τέκνα ἀπέθανον

kai ho tritos elaben autēn hōsautōs de hoi hepta ou katelipon tekna apethanon

And - third took her likewise however - seven not did leave children perished

20:32

ὕστερον καὶ ἡ γυνὴ ἀπέθανεν

hysteron kai hē gynē apethanen

afterward And the a woman is dead

20:33

ἡ γυνὴ οὖν ἐν τῇ ἀναστάσει τίνος αὐτῶν γίνεται γυνή; οἱ γὰρ ἑπτὰ ἔσχον αὐτὴν γυναῖκα

hē gynē oun en tē anastasei tinos autōn ginetai gynē hoi gar hepta eschon autēn gynaika

the a woman therefore in the resurrection of which of them it came to pass wife? - for seven had her wife

20:34

Καὶ εἶπεν αὐτοῖς ὁ Ἰησοῦς Οἱ υἱοὶ τοῦ αἰῶνος τούτου γαμοῦσιν καὶ γαμίσκονται

kai eipen autois ho Iēsous hoi huioi tou aiōnos toutou gamousin kai gamiskontai

And said to them - Jesus - sons of the of this age this do they marry And are given in marriage

20:35

οἱ δὲ καταξιωθέντες τοῦ αἰῶνος ἐκείνου τυχεῖν καὶ τῆς ἀναστάσεως ἐκ νεκρῶν οὔτε γαμοῦσιν γαμίζονται

hoi de kataxiōthentes tou aiōnos ekeinou tychein kai tēs anastaseōs ek nekrōn oute gamousin gamizontai

- however having been considered worthy of the of this age that to obtain And - resurrection from [the] dead neither do they marry are given in marriage

20:36

οὐδὲ γὰρ ἀποθανεῖν ἔτι δύνανται ἰσάγγελοι γάρ εἰσιν καὶ υἱοί Θεοῦ τῆς ἀναστάσεως υἱοὶ ὄντες

oude gar apothanein eti dynantai isangeloi gar eisin kai huioi Theou tēs anastaseōs huioi ontes

nor for to die still are able like [the] angels for are And sons of God - resurrection sons being

20:37

Ὅτι δὲ ἐγείρονται οἱ νεκροὶ καὶ Μωϋσῆς ἐμήνυσεν ἐπὶ τῆς Βάτου ὡς λέγει Κύριον Τὸν Θεὸν Ἀβραὰμ Ἰσαὰκ Ἰακώβ

Hoti de egeirontai hoi nekroi kai Mōusēs emēnysen epi tēs Batou hōs legei Kyrion Ton Theon Abraam Isaak Iakōb

Why however they rise - dead And Moses showed at - bush as He says [the] Lord The God of Abraham of Isaac Jacob

20:38

Θεὸς δὲ οὐκ ἔστιν νεκρῶν ἀλλὰ ζώντων πάντες γὰρ αὐτῷ ζῶσιν

Theos de ouk estin nekrōn alla zōntōn pantes gar autō zōsin

God however not is [the] dead But of [the] living all for to Him live

20:39

Ἀποκριθέντες δέ τινες τῶν γραμματέων εἶπαν Διδάσκαλε καλῶς εἶπας

apokrithentes de tines tōn grammateōn eipan Didaskale kalōs eipas

Answering now some of the scribes they said Teacher well have said

20:40

οὐκέτι γὰρ ἐτόλμων ἐπερωτᾶν αὐτὸν οὐδέν

ouketi gar etolmōn eperōtan auton ouden

no longer for did they dare to ask him Nothing

20:41

Εἶπεν δὲ πρὸς αὐτούς Πῶς λέγουσιν τὸν Χριστὸν εἶναι Δαυὶδ υἱόν;

Eipen de pros autous Pōs legousin ton Christon einai Dauid huion

Said however to them How they speak the Christ to be David Son?

20:42

αὐτὸς γὰρ Δαυὶδ λέγει ἐν βίβλῳ ψαλμῶν Εἶπεν Κύριος τῷ Κυρίῳ μου Κάθου ἐκ δεξιῶν

autos gar Dauid legei en biblō psalmōn Eipen Kyrios tō Kyriō mou Kathou ek dexiōn

He for David He says in book of Psalms: Said Lord - Lord of Me Sit from [Your] right hand

20:43

Ἕως ἂν θῶ τοὺς ἐχθρούς σου Ὑποπόδιον τῶν ποδῶν

heōs an thō tous echthrous sou hypopodion tōn podōn

until - I place the enemies of You [as] a footstool of the feet

20:44

Δαυὶδ οὖν αὐτὸν ⇔ Κύριον καλεῖ καὶ πῶς αὐτοῦ υἱός ἐστιν;

Dauid oun auton Kyrion kalei kai pōs autou huios estin

David therefore Him [the] Lord does call And How of Him’” son is?

20:45

Ἀκούοντος δὲ παντὸς τοῦ λαοῦ εἶπεν τοῖς μαθηταῖς [αὐτοῦ]

Akouontos de pantos tou laou eipen tois mathētais autou

Were listening however all of the people said on the disciples of him

20:46

Προσέχετε ἀπὸ τῶν γραμματέων θελόντων περιπατεῖν ἐν στολαῖς καὶ φιλούντων ἀσπασμοὺς ταῖς ἀγοραῖς πρωτοκαθεδρίας συναγωγαῖς πρωτοκλισίας τοῖς δείπνοις

Prosechete apo tōn grammateōn thelontōn peripatein en stolais kai philountōn aspasmous tais agorais prōtokathedrias synagōgais prōtoklisias tois deipnois

Beware from of the scribes desiring to walk about in robes And loving greetings - marketplaces first seats synagogues first places on the feasts

20:47

οἳ κατεσθίουσιν τὰς οἰκίας τῶν χηρῶν καὶ προφάσει μακρὰ προσεύχονται οὗτοι λήμψονται περισσότερον κρίμα

hoi katesthiousin tas oikias tōn chērōn kai prophasei makra proseuchontai houtoi lēmpsontai perissoteron krima

who devour the houses of the widows And as a pretext at great length pray These will receive abundantly judgment
