Καὶ ἦλθον εἰς τὸ πέραν τῆς θαλάσσης τὴν χώραν τῶν Γερασηνῶν

kai ēlthon eis to peran tēs thalassēs tēn chōran tōn Gerasēnōn

And they came for the beyond - sea the region of the Gerasenes

καὶ ἐξελθόντος αὐτοῦ ἐκ τοῦ πλοίου εὐθὺς ὑπήντησεν αὐτῷ τῶν μνημείων ἄνθρωπος ἐν πνεύματι ἀκαθάρτῳ

kai exelthontos autou ek tou ploiou euthys hypēntēsen autō tōn mnēmeiōn anthrōpos en pneumati akathartō

And having gone forth of Him’” from of the boat immediately met to Him of the tombs a man in a spirit unclean

ὃς τὴν κατοίκησιν εἶχεν ἐν τοῖς μνήμασιν καὶ οὐδὲ ἁλύσει οὐκέτι οὐδεὶς ἐδύνατο αὐτὸν δῆσαι

hos tēn katoikēsin eichen en tois mnēmasin kai oude halysei ouketi oudeis edynato auton dēsai

who the dwelling it had in on the tombs And nor with chains no longer no one was able him to bind

³who was having [his] dwelling in the tombs, and not with chains any longer was anyone able to bind him.

διὰ τὸ αὐτὸν πολλάκις πέδαις καὶ ἁλύσεσιν δεδέσθαι διεσπάσθαι ὑπ’ αὐτοῦ τὰς ἁλύσεις πέδας συντετρῖφθαι οὐδεὶς ἴσχυεν δαμάσαι

dia to auton pollakis pedais kai halysesin dedesthai diespasthai hyp’ autou tas halyseis pedas syntetriphthai oudeis ischyen damasai

on account of the him often with shackles And chains had been bound had been torn in two by of Him’” the chains shackles had been shattered no one was able to subdue

καὶ διὰ παντὸς νυκτὸς ἡμέρας ἐν τοῖς μνήμασιν ὄρεσιν ἦν κράζων κατακόπτων ἑαυτὸν λίθοις

kai dia pantos nyktos hēmeras en tois mnēmasin oresin ēn krazōn katakoptōn heauton lithois

And on account of all night days in on the tombs mountains was crying out cutting himself with stones

Καὶ ἰδὼν τὸν Ἰησοῦν ἀπὸ μακρόθεν ἔδραμεν καὶ προσεκύνησεν αὐτόν

kai idōn ton Iēsoun apo makrothen edramen kai prosekynēsen auton

And having seen the Jesus from afar he ran And fell on his knees Him

καὶ κράξας φωνῇ μεγάλῃ λέγει Τί ἐμοὶ σοί Ἰησοῦ Υἱὲ τοῦ Θεοῦ Ὑψίστου; ὁρκίζω σε τὸν Θεόν μή με βασανίσῃς

kai kraxas phōnē megalē legei Ti emoi soi Iēsou Huie tou Theou Hypsistou horkizō se ton Theon mē me basanisēs

And having cried in a voice loud He says What to me to You of Jesus Son of the of God Most High? I adjure You the by God not me torment

⁷And having cried out in a loud voice he says, What [does this mean] to me [and] to you, Jesus, Son of God Most Hight? I adjure you by God do not torment me.

ἔλεγεν γὰρ αὐτῷ Ἔξελθε τὸ πνεῦμα ἀκάθαρτον ἐκ τοῦ ἀνθρώπου

elegen gar autō Exelthe to pneuma akatharton ek tou anthrōpou

He said for to Him You come forth the spirit unclean from of the of Man

⁸He was saying to him, Unclean spirit, come out of the man!

Καὶ ἐπηρώτα αὐτόν Τί ὄνομά σοι; λέγει αὐτῷ Λεγιὼν μοι ὅτι πολλοί ἐσμεν

kai epērōta auton Ti onoma soi legei autō Legiōn moi hoti polloi esmen

And He was asking Him What [the] name of you? He says to Him Legion Me - many we are

καὶ παρεκάλει αὐτὸν πολλὰ ἵνα μὴ αὐτὰ ἀποστείλῃ ἔξω τῆς χώρας

kai parekalei auton polla hina mē auta aposteilē exō tēs chōras

And he begged him many so that not them He would send out - country

There was however there to - mountain a herd of pigs violent feeding

kai parekalesan auton legontes Pempson hēmas eis tous choirous hina autous eiselthōmen

And they begged him saying Send us? for the pigs so that they we may enter

Καὶ ἐπέτρεψεν αὐτοῖς καὶ ἐξελθόντα τὰ πνεύματα ἀκάθαρτα εἰσῆλθον εἰς τοὺς χοίρους ὥρμησεν ἡ ἀγέλη κατὰ τοῦ κρημνοῦ τὴν θάλασσαν ὡς δισχίλιοι ἐπνίγοντο ἐν τῇ θαλάσσῃ

kai epetrepsen autois kai exelthonta ta pneumata akatharta eisēlthon eis tous choirous hōrmēsen hē agelē kata tou krēmnou tēn thalassan hōs dischilioi epnigonto en tē thalassē

And He allowed to them And having gone out the spirits unclean entered for the pigs rushed the a herd with of the steep bank the Sea as two thousand they were drowned in the sea

Καὶ οἱ βόσκοντες αὐτοὺς ἔφυγον καὶ ἀπήγγειλαν εἰς τὴν πόλιν τοὺς ἀγρούς ἦλθον ἰδεῖν τί ἐστιν τὸ γεγονός

kai hoi boskontes autous ephygon kai apēngeilan eis tēn polin tous agrous ēlthon idein ti estin to gegonos

And - feeding they fled And proclaimed [it] for the city the country they came to see Which is the has been done

καὶ ἔρχονται πρὸς τὸν Ἰησοῦν θεωροῦσιν δαιμονιζόμενον καθήμενον ἱματισμένον σωφρονοῦντα ἐσχηκότα λεγιῶνα ἐφοβήθησαν

kai erchontai pros ton Iēsoun theōrousin daimonizomenon kathēmenon himatismenon sōphronounta eschēkota legiōna ephobēthēsan

And they come to the Jesus see possessed by demons sitting clothed sound minded having had legion they feared

καὶ διηγήσαντο αὐτοῖς οἱ ἰδόντες πῶς ἐγένετο τῷ δαιμονιζομένῳ περὶ τῶν χοίρων

kai diēgēsanto autois hoi idontes pōs egeneto tō daimonizomenō peri tōn choirōn

And related to them - having seen How it came to pass - being possessed by demons around of the of pigs

καὶ ἤρξαντο παρακαλεῖν αὐτὸν ἀπελθεῖν ἀπὸ τῶν ὁρίων αὐτῶν

And began to implore him to depart from of the region of them

kai embainontos autou eis to ploion parekalei auton ho daimonistheis hina met’ ē

And having entered of Him’” for the a boat he begged him - having been possessed by demons so that with he might be

καὶ οὐκ ἀφῆκεν αὐτόν ἀλλὰ λέγει αὐτῷ Ὕπαγε εἰς τὸν οἶκόν σου πρὸς τοὺς σούς ἀπάγγειλον αὐτοῖς ὅσα ὁ Κύριός σοι πεποίηκεν ἠλέησέν σε

kai ouk aphēken auton alla legei autō Hypage eis ton oikon sou pros tous sous apangeilon autois hosa ho Kyrios soi pepoiēken ēleēsen se

And not left Him But He says to Him Go for the home of You to the your own report to them how much - Lord to You did had mercy on You

Καὶ ἀπῆλθεν καὶ ἤρξατο κηρύσσειν ἐν τῇ Δεκαπόλει ὅσα ἐποίησεν αὐτῷ ὁ Ἰησοῦς πάντες ἐθαύμαζον

kai apēlthen kai ērxato kēryssein en tē Dekapolei hosa epoiēsen autō ho Iēsous pantes ethaumazon

And departed And he began to proclaim in the Decapolis how much did to Him - Jesus all were marveling

kai diaperasantos tou Iēsou en tō ploiō palin eis to peran synēchthē ochlos polys ep’ auton kai ēn para tēn thalassan

And having passed over of the of Jesus in - boat again for the beyond was gathered crowd great in Him And was by the Sea

καὶ ἔρχεται εἷς τῶν ἀρχισυναγώγων ὀνόματι Ἰάϊρος ἰδὼν αὐτὸν πίπτει πρὸς τοὺς πόδας αὐτοῦ

kai erchetai heis tōn archisynagōgōn onomati Iairos idōn auton piptei pros tous podas autou

And comes alone of the synagogue rulers named Jairus having seen him falls to the feet of Him’”

καὶ παρακαλεῖ αὐτὸν πολλὰ λέγων ὅτι Τὸ θυγάτριόν μου ἐσχάτως ἔχει ἵνα ἐλθὼν ἐπιθῇς τὰς χεῖρας αὐτῇ σωθῇ ζήσῃ

kai parakalei auton polla legōn hoti To thygatrion mou eschatōs echei hina elthōn epithēs tas cheiras autē sōthē zēsē

And he begs him many saying - The little daughter of Me at the end has so that having come You would lay the hands on her she might be cured she shall live

Καὶ ἀπῆλθεν μετ’ αὐτοῦ καὶ ἠκολούθει αὐτῷ ὄχλος πολύς συνέθλιβον αὐτόν

kai apēlthen met’ autou kai ēkolouthei autō ochlos polys synethlibon auton

And departed with of Him’” And was following to Him crowd great pressing in on Him

kai polla pathousa hypo pollōn iatrōn dapanēsasa ta par’ autēs panta mēden ōphelētheisa alla mallon eis to cheiron elthousa

And many having suffered by many physicians having spent the belonging to her all to none having benefited But rather for the worse having come

having heard - around of the of Jesus having come in - crowd behind He touched him clothing of Him’”

ἔλεγεν γὰρ ὅτι Ἐὰν ἅψωμαι κἂν τῶν ἱματίων αὐτοῦ σωθήσομαι

elegen gar hoti Ean hapsōmai kan tōn himatiōn autou sōthēsomai

He said for - If I shall touch even of the garments of Him’” I will be healed

καὶ εὐθὺς ἐξηράνθη ἡ πηγὴ τοῦ αἵματος αὐτῆς ἔγνω τῷ σώματι ὅτι ἴαται ἀπὸ τῆς μάστιγος

kai euthys exēranthē hē pēgē tou haimatos autēs egnō tō sōmati hoti iatai apo tēs mastigos

And immediately it withered away the flow of the of blood her she knew - body - she was healed from - affliction

Καὶ εὐθὺς ὁ Ἰησοῦς ἐπιγνοὺς ἐν ἑαυτῷ τὴν ἐξ αὐτοῦ δύναμιν ἐξελθοῦσαν ἐπιστραφεὶς τῷ ὄχλῳ ἔλεγεν Τίς μου ἥψατο τῶν ἱματίων;

kai euthys ho Iēsous epignous en heautō tēn ex autou dynamin exelthousan epistrapheis tō ochlō elegen Tis mou hēpsato tōn himatiōn

And immediately - Jesus having known in Himself the out of of Him’” power having gone forth having turned - crowd He said Who of Me He touched him of the garments?

kai elegon autō hoi mathētai autou Blepeis ton ochlon synthlibonta se kai legeis Tis mou hēpsato

And were saying to Him - disciples of Him’” You see the crowd pressing in on You And say You Who of Me touched?

Καὶ περιεβλέπετο ἰδεῖν τὴν τοῦτο ποιήσασαν

And He was looking around to see the this having done

hē de gynē phobētheisa kai tremousa eiduia ho gegonen autē ēlthen prosepesen autō eipen pasan tēn alētheian

the however a woman having been frightened And trembling knowing that which had been done on her [that] came fell down before to Him said all the truth

Ὁ δὲ εἶπεν αὐτῇ Θυγάτηρ ἡ πίστις σου σέσωκέν σε ὕπαγε εἰς εἰρήνην καὶ ἴσθι ὑγιὴς ἀπὸ τῆς μάστιγός

ho de eipen autē Thygatēr hē pistis sou sesōken se hypage eis eirēnēn kai isthi hygiēs apo tēs mastigos

- however said on her Daughter the faith of You has healed You go for peace And be sound from - affliction

³⁴But he said to her, Daughter, your faith has healed you; go in peace and be healed of the affliction.

Ἔτι αὐτοῦ λαλοῦντος ἔρχονται ἀπὸ τοῦ ἀρχισυναγώγου λέγοντες ὅτι Ἡ θυγάτηρ σου ἀπέθανεν τί ἔτι σκύλλεις τὸν διδάσκαλον;

Eti autou lalountos erchontai apo tou archisynagōgou legontes hoti HĒ thygatēr sou apethanen ti eti skylleis ton didaskalon

[While] yet of Him’” is speaking they come from of the ruler of synagogue’s [house] saying - The daughter of You is dead Which still trouble you the Teacher?

³⁵[While] he is still speaking they come from the synagogue leader's [house] saying, Your daughter is dead; why do you still trouble the teacher?

Ὁ δὲ Ἰησοῦς παρακούσας τὸν λόγον λαλούμενον λέγει τῷ ἀρχισυναγώγῳ Μὴ φοβοῦ μόνον πίστευε

ho de Iēsous parakousas ton logon laloumenon legei tō archisynagōgō Mē phobou monon pisteue

- however Jesus having heard the matter spoken He says - ruler of the synagogue Not fear only believe

καὶ οὐκ ἀφῆκεν οὐδένα μετ’ αὐτοῦ συνακολουθῆσαι εἰ μὴ τὸν Πέτρον Ἰάκωβον Ἰωάννην ἀδελφὸν Ἰακώβου

kai erchontai eis ton oikon tou archisynagōgou kai theōrei thorybon klaiontas alalazontas polla

And they come for the house of the ruler of synagogue’s [house] And He beholds a commotion weeping wailing many things

καὶ εἰσελθὼν λέγει αὐτοῖς Τί θορυβεῖσθε κλαίετε; τὸ παιδίον οὐκ ἀπέθανεν ἀλλὰ καθεύδει

kai eiselthōn legei autois Ti thorybeisthe klaiete to paidion ouk apethanen alla katheudei

And having entered He says to them What make you commotion weep? the child not is dead But sleeps

καὶ κατεγέλων αὐτοῦ Αὐτὸς δὲ ἐκβαλὼν πάντας παραλαμβάνει τὸν πατέρα τοῦ παιδίου τὴν μητέρα τοὺς μετ’ εἰσπορεύεται ὅπου ἦν τὸ παιδίον

kai kategelōn autou autos de ekbalōn pantas paralambanei ton patera tou paidiou tēn mētera tous met’ eisporeuetai hopou ēn to paidion

And they were laughing at of Him’” He however having put out all takes with [Him] the father of the child the mother the with enters in where was the child

⁴⁰And they were ridiculing him, but having thrown everyone out, he takes the father of the child [and] the mother of the child with [him and] enters where the child was.

καὶ κρατήσας τῆς χειρὸς τοῦ παιδίου λέγει αὐτῇ Ταλιθὰ κούμ ὅ ἐστιν μεθερμηνευόμενον Τὸ Κοράσιον σοὶ λέγω ἔγειρε

kai kratēsas tēs cheiros tou paidiou legei autē Talitha koum ho estin methermēneuomenon To korasion soi legō egeire

And having taken hold - hand of the child He says on her Talitha koum which is translated The Little girl You I say arise

καὶ εὐθὺς ἀνέστη τὸ κοράσιον περιεπάτει ἦν γὰρ ἐτῶν δώδεκα ἐξέστησαν ἐκστάσει μεγάλῃ

kai euthys anestē to korasion periepatei ēn gar etōn dōdeka exestēsan ekstasei megalē

And immediately has risen up the girl began walking was for of years twelve they were overcome with amazement loud

καὶ διεστείλατο αὐτοῖς πολλὰ ἵνα μηδεὶς γνοῖ τοῦτο εἶπεν δοθῆναι αὐτῇ φαγεῖν

kai diesteilato autois polla hina mēdeis gnoi touto eipen dothēnai autē phagein

And He instructed to them many so that no one should know this said to be given on her to eat
