Mark 9 | Mark 11

10:1

Καὶ ἐκεῖθεν ἀναστὰς ἔρχεται εἰς τὰ ὅρια τῆς Ἰουδαίας καὶ πέραν τοῦ Ἰορδάνου συμπορεύονται πάλιν ὄχλοι πρὸς αὐτόν ὡς εἰώθει ἐδίδασκεν αὐτούς

kai ekeithen anastas erchetai eis ta horia tēs Ioudaias kai peran tou Iordanou symporeuontai palin ochloi pros auton hōs eiōthei edidasken autous

And from there having risen up comes for the region - Judea And beyond of the Jordan come together again crowds to Him as He had been accustomed He was teaching them

10:2

Καὶ προσελθόντες Φαρισαῖοι ἐπηρώτων αὐτὸν εἰ ἔξεστιν ἀνδρὶ γυναῖκα ἀπολῦσαι πειράζοντες αὐτόν

kai proselthontes Pharisaioi epērōtōn auton ei exestin andri gynaika apolysai peirazontes auton

And having come Pharisees were asking him if it is lawful for a husband wife to divorce testing Him

10:3

Ὁ δὲ ἀποκριθεὶς εἶπεν αὐτοῖς Τί ὑμῖν ἐνετείλατο Μωϋσῆς;

ho de apokritheis eipen autois Ti hymin eneteilato Mōusēs

- however He answering said to them What to you did command Moses?

10:4

Οἱ δὲ εἶπαν Ἐπέτρεψεν Μωϋσῆς βιβλίον ἀποστασίου γράψαι καὶ ἀπολῦσαι

hoi de eipan Epetrepsen Mōusēs biblion apostasiou grapsai kai apolysai

- however they said Permitted Moses a roll of divorce to write And to divorce

10:5

Ὁ δὲ Ἰησοῦς εἶπεν αὐτοῖς Πρὸς τὴν σκληροκαρδίαν ὑμῶν ἔγραψεν ὑμῖν ἐντολὴν ταύτην

ho de Iēsous eipen autois Pros tēn sklērokardian hymōn egrapsen hymin entolēn tautēn

- however Jesus said to them Because of the hardness of heart you He wrote to you commandment this?

10:6

ἀπὸ δὲ ἀρχῆς κτίσεως Ἄρσεν καὶ θῆλυ ἐποίησεν αὐτούς

apo de archēs ktiseōs arsen kai thēly epoiēsen autous

from however [the] beginning of creation Male And female did them

10:7

Ἕνεκεν τούτου καταλείψει ἄνθρωπος τὸν πατέρα αὐτοῦ καὶ τὴν μητέρα ‹καὶ προσκολληθήσεται πρὸς γυναῖκα αὐτοῦ›

heneken toutou kataleipsei anthrōpos ton patera autou kai tēn mētera kai proskollēthēsetai pros gynaika autou

On account of this will leave a man the father of Him’” And the mother and be joined to wife his

10:8

καὶ ἔσονται οἱ δύο εἰς σάρκα μίαν ὥστε οὐκέτι εἰσὶν ἀλλὰ μία σάρξ

kai esontai hoi dyo eis sarka mian hōste ouketi eisin alla mia sarx

And will be - two for flesh one so as no longer are But one flesh

10:9

ὃ οὖν ὁ Θεὸς συνέζευξεν ἄνθρωπος μὴ χωριζέτω

ho oun ho Theos synezeuxen anthrōpos mē chōrizetō

that which therefore - God has joined together a man not let separate

10:10

Καὶ εἰς τὴν οἰκίαν πάλιν οἱ μαθηταὶ περὶ τούτου ἐπηρώτων αὐτόν

kai eis tēn oikian palin hoi mathētai peri toutou epērōtōn auton

And for the house again - disciples around this were asking Him

10:11

καὶ λέγει αὐτοῖς Ὃς ἂν ἀπολύσῃ τὴν γυναῖκα αὐτοῦ γαμήσῃ ἄλλην μοιχᾶται ἐπ’ αὐτήν

kai legei autois Hos an apolysē tēn gynaika autou gamēsē allēn moichatai ep’ autēn

And He says to them He who - shall divorce the wife of Him’” shall marry another commits adultery in her

10:12

καὶ ἐὰν αὐτὴ ἀπολύσασα τὸν ἄνδρα αὐτῆς γαμήσῃ ἄλλον μοιχᾶται

kai ean autē apolysasa ton andra autēs gamēsē allon moichatai

And if a woman having divorced the [to be] a man her shall marry another commits adultery

10:13

Καὶ προσέφερον αὐτῷ παιδία ἵνα αὐτῶν ἅψηται οἱ δὲ μαθηταὶ ἐπετίμησαν αὐτοῖς

kai prosepheron autō paidia hina autōn hapsētai hoi de mathētai epetimēsan autois

And they were bringing to Him little children so that of them He might touch - however disciples rebuked to them

10:14

Ἰδὼν δὲ ὁ Ἰησοῦς ἠγανάκτησεν καὶ εἶπεν αὐτοῖς Ἄφετε τὰ παιδία ἔρχεσθαι πρός με μὴ κωλύετε αὐτά τῶν γὰρ τοιούτων ἐστὶν ἡ βασιλεία τοῦ Θεοῦ

idōn de ho Iēsous ēganaktēsen kai eipen autois Aphete ta paidia erchesthai pros me mē kōlyete auta tōn gar toioutōn estin hē basileia tou Theou

Having seen however - Jesus was indignant And said to them Permit the little children to come to me not forbid them of the for of such is the kingdom of the of God

10:15

ἀμὴν λέγω ὑμῖν ὃς ἂν μὴ δέξηται τὴν βασιλείαν τοῦ Θεοῦ ὡς παιδίον οὐ εἰσέλθῃ εἰς αὐτήν

amēn legō hymin hos an mē dexētai tēn basileian tou Theou hōs paidion ou eiselthē eis autēn

Truly I say to you who - not will receive the kingdom of the of God as child not shall enter for her

10:16

καὶ ἐναγκαλισάμενος αὐτὰ κατευλόγει τιθεὶς τὰς χεῖρας ἐπ’ αὐτά

kai enankalisamenos auta kateulogei titheis tas cheiras ep’ auta

And having taken in [His] arms them He was blessing having laid the hands in them

10:17

Καὶ ἐκπορευομένου αὐτοῦ εἰς ὁδὸν προσδραμὼν εἷς καὶ γονυπετήσας αὐτὸν ἐπηρώτα αὐτόν Διδάσκαλε ἀγαθέ τί ποιήσω ἵνα ζωὴν αἰώνιον κληρονομήσω;

kai ekporeuomenou autou eis hodon prosdramōn heis kai gonypetēsas auton epērōta auton Didaskale agathe ti poiēsō hina zōēn aiōnion klēronomēsō

And going forth of Him’” for way having run up alone And having knelt down to him He was asking Him Teacher good Which I will make so that life eternal I might inherit?

10:18

Ὁ δὲ Ἰησοῦς εἶπεν αὐτῷ Τί με λέγεις ἀγαθόν; οὐδεὶς ἀγαθὸς εἰ μὴ εἷς ὁ Θεός

ho de Iēsous eipen autō Ti me legeis agathon oudeis agathos ei mē heis ho Theos

- however Jesus said to Him What me say You good? no one good if not alone - God

10:19

τὰς ἐντολὰς οἶδας Μὴ φονεύσῃς μοιχεύσῃς κλέψῃς ψευδομαρτυρήσῃς ἀποστερήσῃς Τίμα τὸν πατέρα σου καὶ τὴν μητέρα

tas entolas oidas Mē phoneusēs moicheusēs klepsēs pseudomartyrēsēs aposterēsēs Tima ton patera sou kai tēn mētera

the commandments you know: Not shall you murder shall you commit adultery shall you steal shall you bear false witness shall you defraud Honor the father of You And the mother

10:20

Ὁ δὲ ἔφη αὐτῷ Διδάσκαλε ταῦτα πάντα ἐφυλαξάμην ἐκ νεότητός μου

ho de ephē autō Didaskale tauta panta ephylaxamēn ek neotētos mou

- however He was saying to Him Teacher these things all I have kept from [the] youth of Me

10:21

Ὁ δὲ Ἰησοῦς ἐμβλέψας αὐτῷ ἠγάπησεν αὐτὸν καὶ εἶπεν Ἕν σε ὑστερεῖ ὕπαγε ὅσα ἔχεις πώλησον δὸς τοῖς πτωχοῖς ἕξεις θησαυρὸν ἐν οὐρανῷ δεῦρο ἀκολούθει μοι

ho de Iēsous emblepsas autō ēgapēsen auton kai eipen Hen se hysterei hypage hosa echeis pōlēson dos tois ptōchois hexeis thēsauron en ouranō deuro akolouthei moi

- however Jesus having looked upon to Him loved him And said One thing You is lacking go how much you have sell give on the poor you will have treasure in heaven come follow Me

10:22

Ὁ δὲ στυγνάσας ἐπὶ τῷ λόγῳ ἀπῆλθεν λυπούμενος ἦν γὰρ ἔχων κτήματα πολλά

ho de stygnasas epi tō logō apēlthen lypoumenos ēn gar echōn ktēmata polla

- however having been sad at - word departed grieving was for having possessions many things

10:23

Καὶ περιβλεψάμενος ὁ Ἰησοῦς λέγει τοῖς μαθηταῖς αὐτοῦ Πῶς δυσκόλως οἱ τὰ χρήματα ἔχοντες εἰς τὴν βασιλείαν τοῦ Θεοῦ εἰσελεύσονται

kai periblepsamenos ho Iēsous legei tois mathētais autou Pōs dyskolōs hoi ta chrēmata echontes eis tēn basileian tou Theou eiseleusontai

And having looked around on - Jesus He says on the disciples of Him’” How difficultly - the riches being for the kingdom of the of God will enter

10:24

οἱ δὲ μαθηταὶ ἐθαμβοῦντο ἐπὶ τοῖς λόγοις αὐτοῦ ὁ Ἰησοῦς πάλιν ἀποκριθεὶς λέγει αὐτοῖς Τέκνα πῶς δύσκολόν ἐστιν εἰς τὴν βασιλείαν τοῦ Θεοῦ εἰσελθεῖν ⧼τοὺς πεποιθότας χρήμασιν⧽

hoi de mathētai ethambounto epi tois logois autou ho Iēsous palin apokritheis legei autois Tekna pōs dyskolon estin eis tēn basileian tou Theou eiselthein tous pepoithotas chrēmasin

- however disciples were astonished at on the words of Him’” - Jesus again He answering He says to them Children How difficult is for the kingdom of the of God to enter those who trust riches —

10:25

εὐκοπώτερόν ἐστιν κάμηλον διὰ τῆς τρυμαλιᾶς ῥαφίδος διελθεῖν ἢ πλούσιον εἰς τὴν βασιλείαν τοῦ Θεοῦ εἰσελθεῖν

eukopōteron estin kamēlon dia tēs trymalias rhaphidos dielthein ē plousion eis tēn basileian tou Theou eiselthein

Easier is [for] a camel on account of - eye needle to pass or a rich man for the kingdom of the of God to enter

10:26

Οἱ δὲ περισσῶς ἐξεπλήσσοντο λέγοντες πρὸς ἑαυτούς Καὶ τίς δύναται σωθῆναι;

hoi de perissōs exeplēssonto legontes pros heautous kai tis dynatai sōthēnai

- however exceedingly they were astonished saying to themselves And who is able to be saved?

10:27

Ἐμβλέψας αὐτοῖς ὁ Ἰησοῦς λέγει Παρὰ ἀνθρώποις ἀδύνατον ἀλλ’ οὐ παρὰ θεῷ πάντα γὰρ δυνατὰ τῷ

emblepsas autois ho Iēsous legei Para anthrōpois adynaton all’ ou para theō panta gar dynata tō

Having looked on to them - Jesus He says With men [it is] impossible but not by God all for are possible -

10:28

Ἤρξατο λέγειν ὁ Πέτρος αὐτῷ Ἰδοὺ ἡμεῖς ἀφήκαμεν πάντα καὶ ἠκολουθήκαμέν σοι

Ērxato legein ho Petros autō Idou hēmeis aphēkamen panta kai ēkolouthēkamen soi

Began to say - Peter to Him Behold we have left all And followed to You

10:29

Ἔφη ὁ Ἰησοῦς Ἀμὴν λέγω ὑμῖν οὐδείς ἐστιν ὃς ἀφῆκεν οἰκίαν ἢ ἀδελφοὺς ἀδελφὰς μητέρα πατέρα τέκνα ἀγροὺς ἕνεκεν ἐμοῦ καὶ τοῦ εὐαγγελίου

Ephē ho Iēsous Amēn legō hymin oudeis estin hos aphēken oikian ē adelphous adelphas mētera patera tekna agrous heneken emou kai tou euangeliou

Answered - Jesus Truly I say to you no one is who left house or brothers sisters mother father children region on account of Me And of the gospel

10:30

ἐὰν μὴ λάβῃ ἑκατονταπλασίονα νῦν ἐν τῷ καιρῷ τούτῳ οἰκίας καὶ ἀδελφοὺς ἀδελφὰς μητέρας τέκνα ἀγροὺς μετὰ διωγμῶν αἰῶνι ἐρχομένῳ ζωὴν αἰώνιον

ean mē labē hekatontaplasiona nyn en tō kairō toutō oikias kai adelphous adelphas mēteras tekna agrous meta diōgmōn aiōni erchomenō zōēn aiōnion

if not shall take a hundredfold now in - time to this [man] houses And brothers sisters mothers children region with persecutions— age is coming life eternal

10:31

πολλοὶ δὲ ἔσονται πρῶτοι ἔσχατοι καὶ οἱ

polloi de esontai prōtoi eschatoi kai hoi

many however will be first last And -

10:32

Ἦσαν δὲ ἐν τῇ ὁδῷ ἀναβαίνοντες εἰς Ἱεροσόλυμα καὶ ἦν προάγων αὐτοὺς ὁ Ἰησοῦς ἐθαμβοῦντο οἱ ἀκολουθοῦντες ἐφοβοῦντο παραλαβὼν πάλιν τοὺς δώδεκα ἤρξατο αὐτοῖς λέγειν τὰ μέλλοντα αὐτῷ συμβαίνειν

ēsan de en tē hodō anabainontes eis Hierosolyma kai ēn proagōn autous ho Iēsous ethambounto hoi akolouthountes ephobounto paralabōn palin tous dōdeka ērxato autois legein ta mellonta autō symbainein

Were however in the way going up for Jerusalem And was going on before they - Jesus were astonished - following they were afraid having taken to [Him] again the twelve he began to them to say the being about to Him to happen:

10:33

ὅτι Ἰδοὺ ἀναβαίνομεν εἰς Ἱεροσόλυμα καὶ ὁ Υἱὸς τοῦ ἀνθρώπου παραδοθήσεται τοῖς ἀρχιερεῦσιν γραμματεῦσιν κατακρινοῦσιν αὐτὸν θανάτῳ παραδώσουσιν ἔθνεσιν

hoti Idou anabainomen eis Hierosolyma kai ho Huios tou anthrōpou paradothēsetai tois archiereusin grammateusin katakrinousin auton thanatō paradōsousin ethnesin

- Behold we go up for Jerusalem And - Son of the of Man will be betrayed on the chief priests scribes they will condemn him in death will betray Gentiles

10:34

καὶ ἐμπαίξουσιν αὐτῷ ἐμπτύσουσιν μαστιγώσουσιν αὐτὸν ἀποκτενοῦσιν μετὰ τρεῖς ἡμέρας ἀναστήσεται

kai empaixousin autō emptysousin mastigōsousin auton apoktenousin meta treis hēmeras anastēsetai

And they will mock to Him will spit upon will flog him they will kill with three days He will arise

10:35

Καὶ προσπορεύονται αὐτῷ Ἰάκωβος καὶ Ἰωάννης οἱ (δύο) υἱοὶ Ζεβεδαίου λέγοντες Διδάσκαλε θέλομεν ἵνα ὃ ἐὰν αἰτήσωμέν σε ποιήσῃς ἡμῖν

kai prosporeuontai autō Iakōbos kai Iōannēs hoi dyo huioi Zebedaiou legontes Didaskale thelomen hina ho ean aitēsōmen se poiēsēs hēmin

And come up to Him James And John - two sons of Zebedee saying Teacher we desire so that that which if we might ask You You would do to us

10:36

Ὁ δὲ εἶπεν αὐτοῖς Τί θέλετε με ποιήσω ὑμῖν;

ho de eipen autois Ti thelete me poiēsō hymin

- however said to them What do you desire me I will make for you?

10:37

Οἱ δὲ εἶπαν αὐτῷ Δὸς ἡμῖν ἵνα εἷς σου ἐκ δεξιῶν καὶ ἐξ ἀριστερῶν καθίσωμεν ἐν τῇ δόξῃ

hoi de eipan autō Dos hēmin hina heis sou ek dexiōn kai ex aristerōn kathisōmen en tē doxē

- however they said to Him Grant to us so that alone of You from [Your] right hand And out of [Your] left hand we might sit in the glory

10:38

Ὁ δὲ Ἰησοῦς εἶπεν αὐτοῖς Οὐκ οἴδατε τί αἰτεῖσθε δύνασθε πιεῖν τὸ ποτήριον ὃ ἐγὼ πίνω ἢ βάπτισμα βαπτίζομαι βαπτισθῆναι;

ho de Iēsous eipen autois Ouk oidate ti aiteisthe dynasthe piein to potērion ho egō pinō ē baptisma baptizomai baptisthēnai

- however Jesus said to them Not understand you Which you ask Are you able to drink the a cup that which I drink or [a] baptism am baptized to be baptized [with]?

10:39

Οἱ δὲ εἶπαν αὐτῷ Δυνάμεθα Ὁ Ἰησοῦς εἶπεν αὐτοῖς Τὸ ποτήριον ὃ ἐγὼ πίνω πίεσθε καὶ τὸ βάπτισμα βαπτίζομαι βαπτισθήσεσθε

hoi de eipan autō Dynametha ho Iēsous eipen autois To potērion ho egō pinō piesthe kai to baptisma baptizomai baptisthēsesthe

- however they said to Him We are able - Jesus said to them The a cup that which I drink you will drink And the [a] baptism am baptized you will be baptized [with]

10:40

τὸ δὲ καθίσαι ἐκ δεξιῶν μου ἢ ἐξ εὐωνύμων οὐκ ἔστιν ἐμὸν δοῦναι ἀλλ’ οἷς ἡτοίμασται

to de kathisai ek dexiōn mou ē ex euōnymōn ouk estin emon dounai all’ hois hētoimastai

the however to sit from [Your] right hand of Me or out of [the] left hand not is Mine to give but for whom it has been prepared

10:41

Καὶ ἀκούσαντες οἱ δέκα ἤρξαντο ἀγανακτεῖν περὶ Ἰακώβου καὶ Ἰωάννου

kai akousantes hoi deka ērxanto aganaktein peri Iakōbou kai Iōannou

And having heard [of it] - ten began to be indignant around James And John

10:42

καὶ προσκαλεσάμενος αὐτοὺς ὁ Ἰησοῦς λέγει αὐτοῖς Οἴδατε ὅτι οἱ δοκοῦντες ἄρχειν τῶν ἐθνῶν κατακυριεύουσιν αὐτῶν μεγάλοι κατεξουσιάζουσιν

kai proskalesamenos autous ho Iēsous legei autois Oidate hoti hoi dokountes archein tōn ethnōn katakyrieuousin autōn megaloi katexousiazousin

And having called to [Him] they - Jesus He says to them You know - - being accounted to rule over of the Gentiles exercise lordship over of them great ones exercise authority over

10:43

οὐχ οὕτως δέ ἐστιν ἐν ὑμῖν ἀλλ’ ὃς ἂν θέλῃ μέγας γενέσθαι ἔσται ὑμῶν διάκονος

ouch houtōs de estin en hymin all’ hos an thelē megas genesthai estai hymōn diakonos

not thus now is in to you but who - might desire great to become it will be you servant

10:44

καὶ ὃς ἂν θέλῃ ἐν ὑμῖν εἶναι πρῶτος ἔσται πάντων δοῦλος

kai hos an thelē en hymin einai prōtos estai pantōn doulos

And who - might desire in to you to be first it will be all slave

10:45

καὶ γὰρ ὁ Υἱὸς τοῦ ἀνθρώπου οὐκ ἦλθεν διακονηθῆναι ἀλλὰ διακονῆσαι δοῦναι τὴν ψυχὴν αὐτοῦ λύτρον ἀντὶ πολλῶν

kai gar ho Huios tou anthrōpou ouk ēlthen diakonēthēnai alla diakonēsai dounai tēn psychēn autou lytron anti pollōn

And for - Son of the of Man not [that] came to be served But to serve to give the Life of Him’” [as] a ransom for many

10:46

Καὶ ἔρχονται εἰς Ἰεριχώ ἐκπορευομένου αὐτοῦ ἀπὸ Ἰεριχὼ καὶ τῶν μαθητῶν ὄχλου ἱκανοῦ ὁ υἱὸς Τιμαίου Βαρτιμαῖος τυφλὸς προσαίτης ἐκάθητο παρὰ τὴν ὁδόν

kai erchontai eis Ierichō ekporeuomenou autou apo Ierichō kai tōn mathētōn ochlou hikanou ho huios Timaiou Bartimaios typhlos prosaitēs ekathēto para tēn hodon

And they come for Jericho going forth of Him’” from Jericho — And of the disciples crowd large — - son of Timaeus Bartimaeus blind beggar was sitting by the way

10:47

καὶ ἀκούσας ὅτι Ἰησοῦς ὁ Ναζαρηνός ἐστιν ἤρξατο κράζειν λέγειν Υἱὲ Δαυὶδ Ἰησοῦ ἐλέησόν με

kai akousas hoti Iēsous ho Nazarēnos estin ērxato krazein legein Huie Dauid Iēsou eleēson me

And having heard - Jesus - Nazareth is he began to cry out to say Son David of Jesus have mercy on me

10:48

Καὶ ἐπετίμων αὐτῷ πολλοὶ ἵνα σιωπήσῃ ὁ δὲ πολλῷ μᾶλλον ἔκραζεν Υἱὲ Δαυίδ ἐλέησόν με

kai epetimōn autō polloi hina siōpēsē ho de pollō mallon ekrazen Huie Dauid eleēson me

And were rebuking to Him many so that he should be silent - however much rather he kept crying out Son of David have mercy on me

10:49

Καὶ στὰς ὁ Ἰησοῦς εἶπεν Φωνήσατε αὐτόν φωνοῦσιν τὸν τυφλὸν λέγοντες αὐτῷ Θάρσει ἔγειρε φωνεῖ σε

kai stas ho Iēsous eipen Phōnēsate auton phōnousin ton typhlon legontes autō Tharsei egeire phōnei se

And having stopped - Jesus said to be called Him they call the a blind [man] saying to Him Take courage arise He calls You

10:50

Ὁ δὲ ἀποβαλὼν τὸ ἱμάτιον αὐτοῦ ἀναπηδήσας ἦλθεν πρὸς τὸν Ἰησοῦν

ho de apobalōn to himation autou anapēdēsas ēlthen pros ton Iēsoun

- however having cast away the clothing of Him’” having risen up [that] came to the Jesus

10:51

Καὶ ἀποκριθεὶς αὐτῷ ὁ Ἰησοῦς εἶπεν Τί σοι θέλεις ποιήσω; Ὁ δὲ τυφλὸς Ραββουνι ἵνα ἀναβλέψω

kai apokritheis autō ho Iēsous eipen Ti soi theleis poiēsō ho de typhlos Rabbouni hina anablepsō

And He answering to Him - Jesus said What to You do you desire I should do? - however blind Rabboni so that I may receive sight

10:52

Καὶ ὁ Ἰησοῦς εἶπεν αὐτῷ Ὕπαγε ἡ πίστις σου σέσωκέν σε καὶ εὐθὺς ἀνέβλεψεν ἠκολούθει ἐν τῇ ὁδῷ

kai ho Iēsous eipen autō Hypage hē pistis sou sesōken se kai euthys aneblepsen ēkolouthei en tē hodō

And - Jesus said to Him Go the faith of You has healed You And immediately he received sight was following in the way
