Ἐγένετο δὲ ἐν ταῖς ἡμέραις ἐκείναις ἐξῆλθεν δόγμα παρὰ Καίσαρος Αὐγούστου ἀπογράφεσθαι πᾶσαν τὴν οἰκουμένην

egeneto de en tais hēmerais ekeinais exēlthen dogma para Kaisaros Augoustou apographesthai pasan tēn oikoumenēn

Came however in - days those it came forth a decree by Caesar’s Augustus to register all the world

And this to you - a sign you will find baby wrapped in swaddling cloths lying in a manger

And it came to pass as they went away from of them for the heaven - angels shepherds were saying to each other Let us pass over indeed until Bethlehem And we might see the saying this has come to pass that which - Lord has made known to us

And when were fulfilled [the] days eight of the to circumcise Him And was called the [the] name of Him’” Jesus He had been called by angel before was conceived him in the belly

And He blessed they Simeon said to Mary? the mother of Him’” Behold this [man] is applied for [the] falling a resurrection many in - of Israel a sign spoken against —

kai katebē met’ autōn kai ēlthen eis Nazareth ēn hypotassomenos autois hē mētēr autou dietērei panta ta rhēmata tauta en tē kardia autēs

And came down with of them And [that] came for Nazareth was subject to them the mother of Him’” was treasuring up all the words these in the heart her
